I don't come into these threads much but what does everyone think of the current manga chapters and the reveal about the Titans and the world? Anybody hate the WWI like setting and how the wall people where the titans or does anyone like it? Do you like the direction the story took or wish it would've stayed as it was before?

I personally like it. The setting is really different but it makes sense and the story is ending. I thought it was well written and a good twist. Only complaint I have is Armin should've stayed dead. Flocke was right. I also wouldn't mind if the perspective changed towards the warriors as they become invaded by the Titans who made up the walls. It would bring back the terror seen in the start of the series of humanity potentially being wiped out by the titans since the Marleyans aren't titans.

It uses a lot of classic psychological tricks that you see in horror, particularly japanese horror (for some reason they are the best at this shit). The mix of an uplifting, hypnotic sounding childlike tune and the distorted vocals confuses your brain and hits that uncanny valley feeling of something being slightly wrong where it should be right.
The visuals utilise real european medieval culture, simplistic pictures we are used to seeing as holy, but with dark elements that obviously involve the lore of the show. So there is this feeling throughout of creepy, terrifying titans infiltrating something more natural and homely.
It's really a great ED.
