Definitely one of the better shows I've watched.
Japanese have a very interesting way of portraying bleakness and existential dread, the vague storytelling and overuse of symbolism sometimes can make pretty impactful stuff.

Thought it was nice, and I liked it. But I fell asleep alot of times and had to rewatch it alot of times as many things flew over my head.
Though I guess that's more my fault than the show's, I wish there were more shows like it.

The deal with Yoshii:

He saw how peace and apathy had lead to a cultural death above, so he went down below to see how the society functioned. He wanted to prevent the same occurring in Lux, essentially to save humanity. He stated earlier that he hoped to create energy and life through his discord. This had the potential to maybe prolong things, but of course the show's message was that this was an inevitability. Once he failed, humanity was doomed.
tl;dr: Yoshii was a force for good

Ran had a good head on her shoulders.
