I think that's the scene, as I've never seen any genuine moments where Subaru has fully taken advantage of Rem. I beleive she was also the one who tricked him rather than him tricking her.

I think the idea is that Subaru improves, and so becomes worthy of Emilia. The thing is, Emilia isn't really what drives him to become a better person in the end. There are some positive interactions between them so far, but a lot of that seems to be enabled by the fact that Emilia doesn't understand half the shit Subaru is spewing.

That's why I don't think Emilia is any more realistic of a girl than Rem. Subaru could grab Emilia's boobs, and she'd just be slightly confused. He could, and does, act like a complete creep towards her, and get absolutely no reaction. Even if he does something that absolutely humiliates her, we see her perspective on it in Arc 4. She somehow manages to blame herself. That was probably the moment I lost interest in Emilia.

I'm not sure where comments would be, but I hear comments did have influence. Wilhelm came into existence because someone was interested in the coach driver. On another note, I think it may have been mentioned somewhere that neither Garfiel or Otto were part of the original idea, and the Oni sisters were only going to have a very minor role.

So when I read that line about how she's responsible for changing the entire surface of the plot, I've got to say I'm quite thankful for her. Early Arc 2 gave me a very different impression in terms of narrative and characterization.

Finally got to the next Rem scene, where she gives him a lap pillow and agrees that he's weak. When he tells her she's supposed to disagree with him and praise him instead, she seemingly agrees if it's what he wants. However, her response doesn't change when he goes for a Take 2. He asks if she was paying attention, and she asks if he was. The conversation goes on like that, with Rem implying he doesn't actually want her to deny his weakness. He has nothing to say to that, and decides to continue enjoying the feeling of her thighs.

I suppose that's all to show that he actually does have someone who understands him, including those things he doesn't say.

Arc 1 being the lowest is easy and while Arc 2 was great I wouldn't put it any higher since most of my favorite things about the series were introduced in Arc 3.
Arc 4 is essentially is the birth of the modern Emilia camp. Emilia and Beatrice finally get focus and development, Roswaal gets exposed which answers a great deal of previous mysteries and Garfiel and Otto are bros for life. Even Patrasche gets some great moments.
Witch stuff and trials are also fun. Pacing is probably the biggest issue but there are times where I'm willing to see past that.
Whether I prefer Arc 3 or 4 regularly switches depending on my mood which is why I would just say they're equal.

Oh, and speaking of this? I don't know how it happened, but she's getting called a ton of variations of "RMT". I think there might be more RMTs than EMTs. I didn't think Rem would've been very popular early on, but you have some people saying things like they no longer mind if the story goes harem now. Of course, there are others saying they hope it doesn't.

The "Barusu" nickname seems to be a fan-favorite at this point. People are speculating about if Roswaal broke Ram's horn, and wondering if that's why she's loyal to him. I think it was mentioned that same chapter that Witch Beasts are loyal to those who break their horns, so people are drawing connections.
