Hmm, i'm pretty sure the reason why Davis could escape was because he had no dreams whatsoever, so he didn't had any fighting spirit actually, it was just that the power of Myotismon didn't worked in people with no ambitions and wishes.

There was one for Kizumonogatari ripping off the Near Side routes in Tsukihime, and another for Berserk ripping off Osamu Tezuka's Dororo.
Presumably they're lost forever.
