Have there been a female character voiced by a male seiyuu?

It's fine if the character is supposed to be young. A woman can do a much more convincing child voice of either gender than a man can post-balldrop. On adult characters, it's just fucking weird. I don't understand why changing VAs is such a rarity among the elevens.

Spike Spencer does an absymal job as Shinji Ikari, he sounds whiny and near intolerable and is in fact a reason why many people hate the character. Meanwhile Megumi Ogata sounds as if she was made for the role. Female seiyuus are best for pre pubescent and teenage male characters.
