Nah. These chapters are 40 pages long apiece. And each ep has 3 chapters so far. It's very rushed pacing trying to squeeze 120 or so pages into 20 some odd minutes. I do realize what part of the manga they want to end on, and with just one cour, they don't have much choice but to rush hard though.

If any of you read Jitsu wa, you might remember that the author made Mikan too unlikable at the start of the manga. It seems he realized that and basically then went all in and fixed her up and made her a likable character.

That seems like what's happening with Shikimi. It helps that the manga overall has an overarching theme about the transformative power of love and how it can make people into better people.

Shikimi was shit because as Guri pointed out, there was no love for anyone or anything in her heart at all. But she's slowly learning to love other people, so she's becoming a better person.
