How is this manga so engrossing? I just read a chapter where all that happened was Alpha took the kids to a beach, they played around in the water and then went home. But I enjoyed it plenty, just like every other chapter. YKK thread?
>>155801632
I enjoyed this series too but there isn't a whole lot to talk about. It's comfy but without a purpose.
dropped at the yuri
>>155801692
It's really good. I especially love the backgrounds, they're believable without looking like traced photos.
Too bad the kid didn't get the qt robo waifu.
>>155801632
What's this about?
>>155802135
It's a borderline plotless SoL manga about a cute robot girl that runs a coffee shop in the future. It's technically post apocalyptic, but it's a while after it happened, and there's no fighting or violence. It's just cute, relaxing, and heartwarming, with really nice art. It's really nice.
>>155801692
>It's comfy but without a purpose.
Are you fucking stupid or something? There's an entire purpose for this manga, and Alpha is literally the embodiment of that.
>>155802093
This.
I wanted the /ss/ to happen so badly.
>>155801632
Obligatory 'Western release when?'
>>155802518
Is it being translated, or has it been abandoned?
>>155802597
it's translated, GO READ IT NIGGA
>>155802597
It's long-since been completely scanned, man. Treat yourself today.
>>155802135
>>155802597
Sorry but what the fuck? How can you browse /a/ and not know YKK?
>>155802637
>>155802647
I will, then!
>>155802658
Everyone starts someday.
>>155802597
fully translated, but some of the later volumes are low quality

And summer is even closing in. Wish I could read it in the same conditions againi probably will anyway
>>155802714
>but some of the later volumes are low quality
It's really a tragedy, about that.
It really needs a beautiful scanlation ;_;
maybe one day
>>155802597
It's been available in english since I first started reading manga way back in middle school.
I'm 24.
Alpha is so damn cute.
I just read volume one, this is cute.
Thanks for introducing a newfag.
>>155803993
The whole series pretty much continues the same way with a few more characters dropping in and out. It's really nice, especially the full color chapters.
>>155803993
have a good read anon
>>155804051
>>155804015
This thread reminds me of what I truly love about /a/.
>>155803993
>this is cute.
It's also surprisingly sad, so be prepared.
>tfw can't physically own the manga and read it outside on a Summer's afternoon in Texas
>>155805067
>surprisingly
With every timeskip, I grew more and more depressed.
>>155805097
I thought there was nothing depressing about the world ending in such a peaceful way, I just felt bad for Alpha having to see her friends age. ;_;
>>155805239
>I just felt bad for Alpha having to see her friends age. ;_;
Well yeah this is what makes me depressed. Especiallyojisan dying.
>>155802093
He got close though ;_;
>>155805296
it's sad but they managed to preserve humanity's values and beauty
>>155805296
If she hadn't had that other robot friend/waifu I would have probably felt completely dead inside by the end of it (instead of just slightly).
>>155805498
What happened to the other robot pilot guy?
>reading it with the anime OST in the background
The comfiest feel.
>>155805498
that's the beautiful part though.Everything was leading up to showing Alpha was going to end up alone willingly, which is still sad in a way.
So showing Kokone out of nowhere, especially after that chapter where she says she wanted to live with Alpha, was REALLY good.
>>155805533
Honestly I almost completely forgot about him, didn't they mention male robots tend ti have a short lifespan?
Anyone knows what happens with that spaceship that goes arround and carries someone who is like alpha?
>>155805380
too bad /u/ won this time
plotfags are so god damn stupid.
ykk is about the children of humanity growing and shining into the future as the last lights of civilization slowly vanish during the twilight age of humanity. about the last people embracing the true warmth and greatness of human relationships as the excess of society slowly grinds to a halt.
like the world doesnt need to be threatened from outer space and the protagonist goes on a timeskip training arc for a manga to have a plot.
for example the bit when alpha finds the model airplane engine and runs it until the fuel is gone. is that really plotless? did nothing change in her? dont be fucking stupid.
>>155807889
Let them be. People are just stupid. Especially the ones who put plot on pedestal. They have no clue what they are talking about actually. I cant take them seriously.
I read this a couple months back and I still have one question
Why did Alpha and Kokone carry guns with them?
>>155807889
>>155808039
Are u both actually retarded or something? Serious question. No one said anything about the plot in the manga
>>155808163
Alpha just have it because her owner gave it to her, but dont carry anmo.
Kokone.. I supose for the job maybe
>>155807889
It's not like a manga needs to have a plot to be good, or to go from point 1 to 2, 3, 4 ... at a fast pace.
YKK does have a lot of that though. There are a few characters arcs, big events, changes... More than, say, Aria or Hidamari Sketch. And they complement pretty well the themes and Alpha's development. YKK is fucking perfect
>>155808039
i usually dont bother but ykk is too good for people to call it plotless. oh well.
>>155808179
check out >>155801692 and >>155802518.
>>155808163
kokone couriers packages in secluded areas. somebody might try to rob her.
>>155808268
my point is that world changing events dont make a plot. character development in response to events makes plot. and ykk is all about character development and events on a human scale. just like a lot of literature. ykk is better written than 99% of manga.

This scene hit me hard, The sort of quiet accepting sadness to it.
I watched the ova before reading, and this played in my head during that chapter.
Have a nice colourised shot from the manga.
