Is /a/ too young for Lupin?

I think the movies from the 90s/00s were mildly popular in the right circles, but it was definitely niche.

I know in Japan it's ubiquitous, everyone knows who Lupin is and live action shows will make offhanded comments about Goemon/etc. Over here it's a little harder to tell.

Here in Italy it's the most popular anime ever. My grandparents are well in their 80s and know who Lupin is.

You would think the West would eat Lupin up but for whatever reason it just never caught on over here in the mainstream. Even when it was airing on Adult Swim many moons ago I don't think it had particularly high ratings.

The Toonami showrunner/curator recently put up a poll asking what recent shows people were interested in and ItaLupin was one of the choices, so at least Adult Swim likes it.

It's definitely a little more niche in the North America area, but it's got a grip cult following for those who know of it. Will Smith, Robin Williams, and Kanye West know and loved Lupin Part 2. But you gotta thank the localization for being choosey with what episodes make it over here. I hear episode 150 and 155 were the pilot episodes here.

I've watched a lot of Lupin. Blue Coat has been pretty good so far, although Rebecca was awful and I hope they never bring her back. Excited to see the new film, because I really liked Jigen's Gravestone

Plenty of people liked it when it was on Adult Swim. There was even a petition for AS to buy more episodes that got a good number of signatures.
