Should I start buying Air Gear ?

I started reading Tenjo Tenge through Viz's 2 in 1 release and ended up loving it.

I don't understand people complaining about Air Gear, the story just followed its natural course, you could do the same critics to literally any shounen ever. Air Gear characters were fucking amazing and likeable, even the sluts/motherfuckers were likeable at some extent(with the exception of Ringo) and all the fights followed the logic of their universe.

To answer your question, Dengeki Daisy jumped hard once Daisy's real identity was revealed. Completely ruined the charm of the manga, which was in the dual personality of Daisy/Tasuku IMHO.

The exact moment it jumped the shark was when Sora stood up from the wheelchair and his brother showed up next to him. Due to the timing of the two events, I always looked at it as Sora's brother literally coming out of his ass.

I fucking love Air Gear, reread it 3 times and I love the transition to full battle shounen. Shame Ito's new stuff isn't as good.

That entire season was pretty bad about shark jumping aldnoah did it too. There's also high-school fleet, which went from Hunt for Red October to a story about a really bad case of fucking scurvy.

Basically the series is about a grown otaku that is an assistant mangaka, in the past when he was a teen in high school he actually managed to get a girlfriend, they had a good thing together but life circumstances torn them apart, each went their way.

12 years later into current events the MC finds out that relationship resulted in a child, a little girl knocked his apartment saying she is his daughter.

The story mostly was about the daughter and father bonding, with him growing to be more responsible and her learning and putting up with otaku culture, along with the condo's zany characters.

There were two subplots concerning the MCs chance at romance, one was about the daughter hoping her mother and father met again and got together, the other was about the MC being currently in love with the condo's landlady.

Turns out BOTH of those got harsh twists against the MC:

the one about the landlady gets turned into a unforeseen reveal that she was married to the MCs idol and head mangaka all along in secret because she had a rough past and he helped her out, they fell in love with each other.

the one about the daughter wanting their parents to reunite is an even bigger twist that fucked up the MC even more, turns out the mother never loved the MC at all back in high school, she dated him only to make his best friend jealous (MCs best friend is her childhood friend) but it didn't work because the guy was never interested in her and grew up to become a lolicon.
