This should be a Maho thread now.
What did he mean by this?

She's going to be a member of the anti committee isn't she?

No.
This obviously needs to be a Moeka thread.
Sorry, I'm a bit behind in the series.
What is OP's image from?

How is it that Steins;Gate is a 10/10 masterpiece and literally every other one is shit?

I enjoyed Steins;Gate but why do the rest of the shows suck so bad?

can a mayushii lover please explain to me why she is superiour to kurisu?
i remember i had a perfectly logical reason why i preferred her (and i even specifically changed my preference from kurisu to mayushii) but i can't for the life of me remember it
Why did Steins;Gate become far more popular than the other stories in the series?

>>155696923
>Not the shittiest anime movie
Eh, I've seen worse.
>>155697012
It's about having standards. Rather than making a downward comparison about how at least it isn't complete shit, you should be holding it to how it can be improved or at least hold up to the fucking canon.
>>155696884
Kagari stole it all.
>>155697052
I dunno anon, after seeing so many of these big-time franchises fucked up by producing atrocious movies, "isn't complete shit" was what I'm hoping at least.
A good movie would be a miracle to me.
>>155697012
Not him, but it's really one of shittiest movies ever and I say this, BECAUSE I like the VN and anime. As a fan, it was insulting to watch. Even that 4 episodes long mini ONA was better.
>>155690105
Because it's well-written, greatly directed, everyone like time travel and it has a Kurisu + a top-tier romance.

>>155697322
S;G: Fuka Ryouiki no Déjà vu wasn't directed by Chiyomaru at all, though.
>>155697390
Why would you want a sequel? We already have a so-so OVA and a horrible movie, neither of them were necessary, so a sequel is the last thing we need. (Maybe something where Okabe and Kurisu are motherfucking husband and wife already with a daughteru. I'd pay for that.)

What if Okabe secretly invented super future gadget #88, the TiTiRay, which progressively uses X-RAY TECHNOLOGY to irradiate the target's body and mutate their body into a lewder and more erotic shape, which he's secretly been testing on Assistant and others?
>>155697487
A series with just fun times with the lab mems, maybe even 10 years later or something. It doesn't have to be about any time traveling drama. Completely SOL.

SG;0 messed with everyone. He calls himself useless and incompetent every chance he gets, which I also personally believe him to be. It wasn't until he turned on his Kyoma switch that things finally got moving in the right direction. Due to this, a leader is all that I can really see him as. Sure, he's smart, but he can't go anywhere without his friends.
>>155705175
Anime was weak, yes. But knowing this, I would have never given Chaos;Head's VN a chance if I wasn't open-minded. When Robotics;Notes gets translated I'll play it, regardless of how weak the anime was.

Chaos;Head Love Chu Chu is a canon sequel that adds closure to the Takumi/Rimi dynamic that was only really touched on in the original game.
Chaos;Child Love Chu Chu is also a canon sequel, but its entire foundation is an out-of-character "wacky shenanigans" scheme by a previously pretty good antagonist.
>>155705322
He has:

>>155705732
>someone couldn't possibly have started after you
>>155705657
>inventing a device that can objectively measure divergence
This is actually false. Pay attention to the narrative and you'll realize that Divergence is entirely subjective. The Divergence Meter is a static nixie tube display that he just builds differently in every World Line. He inputs new numbers based on what he thinks changed, which can then be brought back to his past self as an indicator of progress.
>>155705782
You had plenty of time to educate yourself on the matter before asking stupid questions. Fucking google it next time.
>>155705806
>He inputs new numbers based on what he thinks changed
I don't believe it was ever actually stated how the numbers are calculated. There could be an objective metric for relative location within an attractor field that the audience simply doesn't know.
>>155705806
They're always displaying a value relative to the exact same worldline, despite him developing it separately over many worldlines.

>>155705861
>that the audience simply doesn't know
Then it could just simply be subjective, no?
>>155705993
>Then it could just simply be subjective, no?
Sure, but you can't say anything definitively. It seems to be independent considering the audience sees divergence values every time the world line shifts in S;G, implying they are a meaningful value to an omniscient third person.
>>155705866
>They're always displaying a value relative to the exact same worldline, despite him developing it separately over many worldlines.
I don't know what you're saying here. The Divergence Meter is only physically shown in the story during the Alpha Attractor struggle. It's not truly relative to 0% as Absolute 0% would be entirely different to the rest of the Alpha Field. Any other instance is just for the reader's convenience and doesn't canonically exist as an item.
>>155705861
It's not overtly stated but I had the impression that it's meant to be implied. When Okabe goes back to the past and gets stabbed by Psycho Nae, his future self in that World Line was like "Oh shit I fucked that one up. So it's down to low 0.3x instead of 0.4x. I thought that was obvious.
>>155705993
No because then the meter would be useless.
>>155706054
The third person is us. We see the value to give us a sense of placement. Okabe sees the value on the meter itself to give him a sense of placement. The Divergence Meter isn't some advanced science, it's a glorified waypoint telling Okabe whether he did good (number down) or bad (number up).
>>155706074
How would it be useless? The entire GENIUS of the meter is the fact that only Okabe can make use of it because only he can observe it.
>>155706055
Okabe gets stabbed by Psycho Nae on a 0.5 world line.
>>155706093
Sorry, mixed my brackets there Good is number up, bad is number down.
>>155706106
It's been a while since I've played. But it's the same point regardless. Worse event = number goes down, Good results = number goes up.
The Divergence Meter never physically changes ever at any point. Suzuha goes her whole life never knowing if it changed or not. Because it doesn't change, it's simply built differently in each World Line. It's a waypoint, a progress marker that remains a constant. Something only Okabe (as the observer) can make use of.
>>155706055
Worldline 0 is whatever the creator of the scale seems to be 0.
>>155706093
That's a flaw, not a design feature.
>>155706164
I concur, the numbers the meter displays are static. They can't change. They have been calculated by Okabe and Daru and then they have been eternalized as the Divergence Meter.
>>155706206
How would it be a flaw? It's the only thing that can guide Okabe. It's the entire point of the meter.
>>155696884
If I recall the VN, Rintaro initially described her as basically cute, but lacking in the chest. And if you consider every other girl in the VN, she only beats two girls, and ties one younger girl, in sheer size. I think her rack looking decent in the VN is an artifact of the art style and the fact that the writing makes her character more appealing for non-titty reasons as the story progresses.
>>155706164
Or maybe it doesn't noticeably change because no one is capable of perceiving it.
>>155706230
Because no one else can use it.
>>155706259
It wasn't made for anyone other than him. It's Alpha Okabe's only way of "communicating" with his past self without sending a mail. I don't understand why people struggle to get this. It's such a simple but genius little thing. A numerical display, built differently in each world line. You can't calculate a World Line, that doesn't make sense in the material given. What makes the most sense is that Okabe assigned World Line values based on his subjective opinion on how the events progressed, then sent this opinion back in time with Suzuha to warn/push on his past self.
>>155706259
It doesn't change because the world line doesn't change.
The meter displays a numerical value of divergence to a hypothetical 0% world line.
You with me? Good.
Now, if the world line changes, the entire world gets reconstructed, including (but not limited to) the Divergence Meter.
But on that world line, the meter never changed numbers. It was made on that world line in its future with that specific numbers, as those were the numbers Okabe and Daru calculated for the current world line.
The Divergence Meter never changes value.
The world changes, and the Divergence Meter changes with it.
>>155706325
>You can't calculate a World Line
You can, it is mentioned in the game text.
>>155706380
According to who, Suzuha? Suzuha didn't have the full picture. She's an unreliable information-giver. I don't believe it was anything more than Okabe's progress report.
>>155706408
Then how do you explain the numbers for the Beta world lines?
>>155704701
She says her outfit is based on a certain school's uniform. That part never made sense to me. Does that mean it's a costume? Is she secretly very fashion conscious, or into cosplay? I thought she was the all work and no play type naive to such things, like Maho.
>>155706380
They've just figured out a way to measure from a specific line, why is this so hard for you?
>>155706441
They don't exist as values in-universe available on a meter. They exist for the purpose of the reader, it's like when the True End credits roll and we get that last little display of the Steins Gate percentage. It doesn't really mean anything, it's a wink to the audience and helps us quantify their location on a space level.
Same with Gamma, and the X% from the gag comedy manga.
>>155706472
Her outfit is based on the uniform of the school she's attending in Japan on an exchange trip. It's a modified version of the clothing, not a cosplay or anything. She just likes to play with clothes.
>>155706481
That wasn't the question.
You said Suzuha is an unreliable information giver, thus she can't be trusted when she says world line calculation is possible.
But, the numbers we see in the Beta World Line are calculated with some form of theory in mind.
You have read S;G Zero, yes?
>>155706542
That guy wasn't me, but I don't remember the beta numbers being calculated with a theory. When was that?
>>155706527
>It doesn't really mean anything, it's a wink to the audience and helps us quantify their location on a space level.
Everything inside the story doesn't really matter, but that's besides the point.
>>155706568
Didn't Beta Suzuha tell Okabe that they calculated the Divergence for the Steins Gate world line, thus knowing it did exist?
>>155706472
Just look at her outfit, she obviously has a sense of style. It's based off the uniform of a school she attended herself.
>>155706542
I can tell that I won't get through to you.
>>155706618

She's a tsundork, but she's clearly interested in being lewd. Would you deny her that? Restrain her curiosity?
>>155706612
That means they know an objective reference point.
>>155706612
I didn't really take that line to mean they'd somehow "located" the Steins Gate. More like he'd begun to figure out the necessary steps and, in chuunibyou fashion, given it an allocation that's just a tiny bit offset from Beta while still being inside it.
>>155706643
Not my fault that some people here are frightfully dense.
Wait now I'm confused. I don't know who's arguing with who anymore and I think some people think I might be some other people.
>>155706164
>The Divergence Meter never physically changes ever at any point. Suzuha goes her whole life never knowing if it changed or not. Because it doesn't change, it's simply built differently in each World Line. It's a waypoint, a progress marker that remains a constant. Something only Okabe (as the observer) can make use of.
That's only because we haven't seen a divergence meter in a period of world line drift. You can't say this is an absolute. Perceptible world line drifts are rare as it means the path to the future changes significantly from a present event.
>>155706809
>That's only because we haven't seen a divergence meter in a period of world line drift.
The moment the world line shifts, the Divergence Meter shifts to. But not because of some high level machinery we don't understand, but simply because the history of that object has been altered.
In that new world line, it will have been made to display a different number.
That number is calculated by Daru and Okabe in the future and made to display on the Divergence Meter. After it has been completed, the numbers do not change.
>>155706877
It's not like it could possibly work any other way. There's only one activated world line and therefore only one value it can ever show. There's no possibility of it "changing value without the world line changing", it's a nonsense idea, because that's what the fucking value is. And since world lines are a composite of past to future, that means it must, logically, have always shown that selfsame value. What you're saying is utterly redundant and does not imply anything.
>>155706930
Then why have you been arguing against me?
>>155706954
Because you're asserting it somehow implies that Okabe makes up the value arbitrarily, but your argument is an absolute farce that does not imply anything whatsoever. So what if it always shows the same value? If it worked by omnisciently observing a relative position within an attractor field by literally measuring a W axis within attractor field theory, it would STILL function like that because it can ONLY POSSIBLY function like that.
>>155706954
Because you're being an idiot who can't comprehend the idea that the value is different because the line corresponding to 0.000000 can be consistently calculated no matter the worldline.
>>155707010
>Because you're asserting it somehow implies that Okabe makes up the value arbitrarily
I did not, I said Okabe and Daru calculate the value based on various things relative to a hypothetical world line. According to Suzuha, anyways.
>>155706742
You should always treat every reply as a different person connected by an invisible string to the previous person unless it's obvious they're the same. Otherwise you look like a fool when you try to accuse someone of saying something you thought they previously said.

I don't think she has much of a fanbase. Just a few persistent individuals, really. Her pixiv is relatively modest for such a large audience, and she's only got a handful of doujinshi.
But her appeals are pretty obvious, far as I can tell. Buxom physique, long legs, beautiful wavy hair, megane, emotionless angle (kuudere), gap moe from her flowery emails.
Maybe a bit of savior complex in there with wanting to rescue the damaged unwanted girl, too.
She also gets expansions on her character in Phenogram, Darling, and drama CD Gamma, in addition to playing a big part in one of S;G 0's routes.

They're definitely part of their own world lines, but S;G doesn't work of a multiverse setting so you should think of them more as valid possibilities rather than parallel worlds.
>In "Linear Bounded Phenogram" Mayuri and Kurisu try to use the Time Leap Machine, for some reason they don't lose their memory.
Everyone can use the time leap machine, it's not linked to Reading Steiner. Nae uses it extensively (several thousands of times) in chapter 9 and Lukako uses it in her ending in S;G.
