So it seems like Boruto unlocked a "Mangekyou" Byakugan. I doubt it's even finished evolving in the flashforward. It'll probably progress to an actual Tenseigan, or beyond that, like something equivalent to Kaguya's Rinne-Sharingan.

Only time will tell. Naruto just isn't Naruto without goofy eyehax. I wonder what abilities this thing will have.

I remember that ehen Naruto was learning about nature release in the anime that he went all in with learning how to make use of it.
He was planning to get a weapon just Asuma and he had this pretty neat combination jutsu with his wind release and gamatatsu's water release.
It never went anywhere since it was all filler and in the manga Naruto only used shadow clones and variations of rasengan, but now that they aren't really bound to a source material so maybe they can finally get more creative.

I just realized they fucked it up with these first episodes. I started noticing when Bort said next day was his first day at school, and I remembered how Nardo and Sauce were, in appearance, when they first got into the Academy. And then I realized it: They gave everyone, for the most part, the age and appearance they were and had during the movie. Hinata looks like she looked like in the movie, Bort and Sarada and co. too (except without headbands and Sarada's different attire), even Himawari looks like her movie self.

The problem is that we know how everyone is supposed to look like later in their Academy years, and unless Bort and everyone shrinks and de-ages a little, they're contradicting chapter 700 of Naruto.

First episode was basically there to establish Boruto's morals though. They used a train metaphor to set up his ideals, and hint how the show will proceed.
