Will this be another Hana Yori Dango? It means the author changing her endgame by fan demand. It worked great for HYD, it's the best selling shoujo manga ever, in the other hand the mangaka seems to be bitter about the industry but she'll never have to work again thanks to HYD.

Taichi is the most interesting when he is losing, because that is something that defies his (and others') expectations about him. If he wins that will be a lot less enjoyable than if he loses but ultimately decides to continue to pursue karuta. I just think it makes for a better story if Arata is the one that becomes the Meijin at this point.
