Why couldn't this whole "dealing with grapplers" lesson been part of the tournament? Miura could have been matched up against a strong Grappler in the tournament to replace one of the matches she breezed through. Then VIvio could learn from watching the match, actually demonstrating her intelligence rather than just telling us she's smart.
Instead we are on a several chapter training arc with no tension in space China just for Chinese dress fan-service and to add more characters I don't care about.

Not in spades, but training is more tense when there's an upcoming match or something. Aside from Miura, no one has a desperate need to get stronger right now.

The story and stakes have been good enough for me during Einhart's drama, the ancient Belka backstory, the tournament matches, etc. And I've enjoyed the fluffy SoL parts.
