The reverse. Earth is the only atheist world. No gods made Earth, and no dragons own Earth. The ending was pretty good, but I feel it also had a HUGE missed opportunity.

The fact that all Tohru's friends did jack shit to help her.
Hell, even Kanna only really flew Kobayashi to the battleground then stood in the background.

Lucoa and Fafnir are both supposed to be pretty powerful, and fatass even got herself in her fighting clothes but didn't do shit.

I would have liked to at least see them ATTEMPT to help Tohru, at least to be a part of the final episode in some regard.

I thought the ending was really sweet. Everything just worked up really well and it's surprising that a slice of life show's finale can make me tear up this much. I still choose to believe that eating Tohru's tail will extend Kobayashi's lifespan until proven wrong.

I'll be honest, as much as I loved this ending, and the VERY ending I felt they should have milked the emotions more throughout the second act. Kobayashi should have realized that her family (and that's what they are) just got broken up and been sadder and more fighty over it all.

Still the last scene made my heart doki doki.

I hope the manga has a plot that goes somewhere, like Tooru returning to her world and the roles being reversed with Kobayashi as the fish-out-of-water and in pursuit of the dragon.

Kigami can't make an emotional episode, and whoever storyboarded this is at fault as well. His directing style is way too generic and anime-ish, he's only good for sakuga and that is it. For example, the nigger used flashbacks for events that happened not even 5 minutes ago. The introspection scene that Tooru had with her literal dragon form was as cliche and corny as it gets, when even a show like Naruto uses introspection scenes like this and does a better better job at it, you know something's off with the quality of your content. Also that shonen trope of 'this place is too small, let's go somewhere else to have our generic shonen battle', what the fuck were they thinking? I can see other studios doing shit like this but not Kyoani. This episode should've been done by someone else, I'm disgusted to see Maidragon go in such a low note.

This is alright, a bit funnier and snappier, but that fits the manga style.

The anime did what it should have with expanding the whole thing and adding more drama.
This chapter isn't an ending, it's just another chapter. They wanted to make an ENDING for their season, so they took this and expanded it to something more meaningful.

Also, Tohru's reaction of crying on Kobayashi's lap in the manga seems kinda out of place compared to the anime which really made the whole thing feel worthy of a breakdown.

They're both good, they just serve different purposes.
