Oreimo was one of the most fun times I've had watching anime in a long time. I liked that they weren't afraid to get into actual romance and it was a good comedy anime all at the same time. The only anime in recent memory I can say I had that much fun watching would be Madoka.

If you establish your series like that and the tone fits. It doesn't wirh Oreimo.
It has all these ridiculous and unbelievable elements, but still wants you to get invested into and feel with these characters. Because that's what the series runs on, character drama. Sure it has comedic elements but it's certainly not a comedy anime that can just ignore conventions to go for a cheap laugh.

First I want to say that the show is just a fun romcom and that's fine. Accuracy, isn't really on the table though. All in all Oreimo is just another case of an anime becoming too popular for the hipster nerds on /a/. That's what this really all comes down to.

It happens with every series that gets popular. You guys won't bitch about it when it's airing but the second it's over it's and you realize it's getting popular it's now considered a "bad anime" because you like to be against things that people enjoy.
