I prefer Kaede but she was second. Just her drama was hilariously bad in a series with silly drama. But I never watched the anime.

I don't know about the anime, but Rin knowingly brought that on himself by telling her he was responsible for the death of her mother and his parents so she wouldn't die of grief. He suffered her wrath, but it was a price to pay to have her live on. Once she grew older and realized the truth, she was extremely remorseful and became his ultra loving yamato nadeshiko waifu. The guilt is still an issue throughout her route.
