Overall I'd agree with you, but there have been specific aspects of the show that have improved from season to season. In particular the first series was awful at integrating its music with action scenes compared with G and GX.

In general one of GX's biggest problems was bringing back character arcs that had already been resolved and replaying them rather than doing new things with the characters. I hope they've learned their lesson.
