That's the exact problem with this thread. It's just basically saying "GTO General Thread". Which would be fine if except GTO has already been discussed to death. So unless you're going to put in some effort into creating an original thread, you end up with something that looks like this one. Reread this thread. It's awful.
As a side note, threads that begin with the OP calling something the "greatest x" are always written by people who haven't watched much anime.

This. GTO really is one of those "read the manga" series. Anime is okay, but you miss out on a lot of shit and it had such a great powerful ending, too. Also the anime changed Miyabi's reason for fooling the entire class, and the newer TV series kind of did something similar to the manga but it was still changed. It's funny how the TV series has less episodes, but it condensed most of the arcs into one package. Granted, each episode I think was an hour long or something, and quite a few details were changed and Fuyutsuki is changed out for some OC donut steal girl who is boring as fuck.

That's funny. They kind of reference it on occasion in the manga, I think, but it didn't really sell the idea too often. The ending in the manga is way less dramatic than the anime's version, so if I had to choose between the anime and manga here, I would probably choose the anime because I'm a sucker for forlorn romance drama. The manga just kind of pokes fun at mama's boy in the end of that part.

But otherwise, I'd choose the manga.

Yeah, and it wasn't even a good replacement. I can't remember her name but she was just kind of there as a simple foil to Onizuka, but she wasn't much of her own character. The TV series is generally okay to watch, though. It's just weird on the things it changes. At least it kept the goddamn bridge suplex that was changed in the first TV series. I never dropped a TV series so hard when I saw that shit.

I think I remember Nanako's role being replaced by one of the class 3-4.

Also, the manga gives us more Noboru and Anko and shows them going out on a date, and it's very cute and you get to respect Noboru way more, as if you didn't gain any for him in the anime. Dude is like if Shinji became cool even if still dorky and flimsy. It literally is notAsuka and notShinji, but less painful to experience.
