The QUALITY isn't that bad IMO. I've seen worse.

That said, if you really don't like it, then just skip it and read the mango. Although if you liked the animu's aesthetic, you might not like the mango either.

Oh but I liked S1 a lot, but watching S2 right after the jump in quality is so jarring it looks like bad fanart from deviantart, except animated. Supposedly the plot is better in S2 so I may need to suffer through it.

Season one was Madhouse. Season two was Artland. Entirely different staff and cast.

I was disgusted when it aired but finally watched it a little bit after it all finished and it wasnt horrible but just read the manga instead.

I loved season 2.
The OP was great, it had a better storyline and it had one of the most likeable and human group of villains i have seen in anime. The art style is the only problem here.

Watch season 1 then read the manga.
Season 1 is a great adaption, season 2 is ok but unlike s1 it doesn't really work as a standalone. It's just one piece in the whole story and Gunslinger Girl is really worth reading because everything comes together really well in the manga.
