The young siblings Rem and Ram are adopted by uncle Count Roswaal after their parents' death in a fire, but their suffering just began
Issue of the day: was Rem's romance with Subaru planned by the clown?
>was Rem's romance with Subaru planned by the clown?
Dear god I hope not
No. Rem nearly fucked up Roswaal's plans. He probably just think Rem and Subaru would become good friends at most. Their love was unforeseen by him.
>Issue of the day: was Rem's romance with Subaru planned by the clown?
He seemed surprisingly okay with her falling in love with him, and acted like it was more or less expected. However, he did seem faintly uncomfortable in "Ordinary Day" when she was acting a little like a stalker. Still, he did choose her to be Subaru's bodyguard and keep an eye on him, so he probably did want her to be devoted to Subaru.
There's just one thing. Subaru falling in love with Rem contradicts Roswaal's ideals. That part probably isn't Roswaal's keikaku.
>was Rem's romance with Subaru planned by the clown?
I think Roswaal did plan it but he might have not anticipated Subaru to love Rem back. Rather, he might have simply wanted Subaru to become more resilient (by being Rem's hero after friendzoning her) and more easily manipulated as he would become more devoted to Emilia. So Rem making Subaru change his mind is something Roswaal failed to foresee since he underestimated her I think.
Well it seems to be some kind of magical cure-all. Maybe it can regenerate decayed bodies so Roswaal can finally transfer Echidna to her original body.
Roswaal doesn't know that yet. Poor granny Lewes, she died for Echidna's sins.
I'm just going to leave this here because I know someone is bound to ask it at some point.
Here are the previous translations:
No, it wasn't planned. It was literally the only thing Roswaal did not plan for. He's so sure people's feelings stay the same he counts on it on all of arc 4. People changing how they feel fucks up Roswaal's plans. So we can be sure he thought Subaru only would ever love Emilia and not Rem. Calling it now, Subaru's love for Rem will save the day and fuck Roswaal.
Or better yet.
>Clown is left dying, without any nearby healers talented enough to save his life.
>Calls someone over to his side, to hear his last words. Pick whoever you like.
>Partially possesses them.
>Because they aren't an empty vessel, it's more of a personality merge where the guy receives all of his memories and access to his Gospel.
>Fun times ensue.
How deep does this rabbit hole go
>Roswaal only adopted and raised Rem because he knew she would become useful later on.
>Roswaal kept attacking Rem's low self-esteem to make her feel even more worthless and inferior. Also Rem would appreciate Subaru's presence even more and become madly in love with him and be capable of "From Zero"ing him.
>Roswaal got rid of Rem after Subaru became tougher and more resilient to break Subaru a little bit and make him become vulnerable to Roswaal's evil scheming, including turning Subaru into another Roswaal and be wholly devoted to just Emilia.
Seems plausible to me honestly.
Every thread until Rem wakes up.
But you're wrong. Roswall is mad as fuck that Subaru won't completely dedicate himself to just helping Emilia. If you were right then he would've planned for it. Subaru falling in love with rem is clearly against Roswaal's wishes because he only wants Subaru to care for Emilia.
He wanted Subaru to care for Rem, the same way he cared about Petra. Why do you think he hired Petra? He knew Subaru cared for her because of the things he went through for the village kids in Arc 2. Then he followed it up by hiring Elsa to kill everyone at the mansion. He just didn't expect Subaru to fall in love with Rem.
Roswaal's whole plan was to make Subaru attached to all sorts of people, then make him realize he can only protect the one he cares about the most, Emilia. He didn't expect him to develop feelings for Rem that rivalled the ones he already had for Emilia. And that's one of the main reasons he just can't give up on the people in the mansion.
>>Roswaal kept attacking Rem's low self-esteem to make her feel even more worthless and inferior.
Well, he did it very subtly. It's more that he made a few suggestions and reworded her ideas in a few subtle ways. If I recall correctly, "Roswaal admonished her to her way of life in the role of 'Ram's substitute"' might be a vague paraphrase of how Rem later thought of it.
Well that's basically what I meant. Loving Rem on the same, or higher, level as Emilia is something Roswaal did not take into account. Because he assumed that Subaru would become completely devoted to his "one" true love.
Or "admonished by" Roswaal, now that I look at it again. In the form that might closer translate as "counseled by". I really don't think the translation dictionary translates the word clearly. "Advise" and "warn" are translated from the same word, which makes sense in a way.
Basic idea is that Roswaal was the one who guided her in her way of life as Ram's substitute, and the one who first suggested that's what she wanted to be.
Wouldn't all the Roswaal manipulation mean that Rem's love for Subaru in a sense is all fabricated? As Roswaal helped develop her insecurities for Subaru to cure?
Hmm. I don't think so. I don't see much point to it desu. I'm pretty sure Roswaal just picked up Rem and Ram cause the Gospel said to do so, and basically just kept them around to be used by him. Honestly, I think he left Rem to die by gluttony and assumed he was done with her.
In a sense he did. Which makes everything all the more fucked up. Subaru and Rem's relationship just got more complex and not as cookie cutter straight as it was made out to be.
I really wonder how both of them are doing to deal with it if this is something they were to find out about.
Ram loves the clown too much to leave like that.
Welp. "Instructed/advised" seems to be how its translated in most example sentences I saw, mostly bible quotes for some reason, so the translation dictionary clearly doesn't properly convey the meaning.
>Honestly, I think he left Rem to die by gluttony and assumed he was done with her.
Out of curiosity, how much does Roswaal know about Gluttony authority? I mean, he's been around for more than 400 years and even owned a gospel so he should know one or two things about how Gluttony could erase people from existence, right? If so then I guess the reason why Roswaal was okay with letting Rem love Subaru was that he thought Rem would get nom'd soon and Subaru would forget her anyway. But unfortunately for Roswaal, Subaru still remembered Rem and Roswaal's plans were ruined because of it.
I think people overthink when it comes to Roswaal's plans. He just does what the gospel tells him to for centuries and has probably already forgotten how to act on his own accord.
Subaru died and failed multiple timelines and Roswaal didn't even try to prevent it.
Anyhow, should we discuss the translated chapter properly now? You now all get to see tongue-clicking explosions firsthand. I'm actually wondering what sort of shit Setanta was trying to plan with Rom.
Beako is a miracle of the universe.
It's more like he crafted the girl's psyche, as if parents were insidious enough to craft their children's personality by B.F. Skinner Behaviourist means. He knew she would fall in love with such a kind guy as Subaru is.
He didn't count on Subaru falling in love with her in return.
Yes, that theory doesn't make much sense. However, the gospel can't tell how Subaru will develop and how he will act, so how was it able to tell that Subaru would fall for Emilia in first place? If Subaru was a dick he could've just let Emilia die in the first arc and Roswaal's plan would have failed but the gospel assumed that bringing them together would lead to Subaru falling for Emilia.
Some Satella witchery maybe?
>However, the gospel can't tell how Subaru will develop and how he will act,
Pretty sure it can, I've got two ideas as to why it went wrong:
• Subaru becoming aware of the Gospel let him take actions to spite it
• The Gosepl was never leading Roswaal to his dream, it's purpose was fulfilled once Echidna made her offer
>Pretty sure it can, I've got two ideas as to why it went wrong:
If it could then Subaru wouldn't fail so often. Roswaal could set up everything in a way where Subaru would always succeed at first try.
Roswaal's (Breatrice's too, not that hers ever says anything) Gospel isn't ambiguous in the slightest.
It's very clear on what's going to happen and what to watch out for, but not clear on what needs doing and what will happen on its own.
>As long as he follows the instructions he believes the end result will be his waifu reviving.
He spent 400 years thinking the end result would be revenge-killing the Dragon, "save your waifu" became his goal shortly before meeting Subaru.
The Gospel only predicts the "correct" path.
There's some subtext implying that parallel universes aren't a thing, but w/e.
Also of note, instructions to effect of "temper Subaru with hardships" were the root causes of Arcs 1-3.
Every thread until Crusch-sama gets her memories back.
There were only three big name demi-humans:
• Rom (alive)
• Some lizard guy (killed by Sphinx)
• Sphinx (oldest Lewes clone, failed attempt to transfer Echidna's memories, killed (by Wilhelm ?))
Nah nee-sama is shit now.
>—But if someone asked her if Rem occupied the highest pedestal in her heart, Ram could not simply nod and agree.
Almost makes me want the Gluttony Archbishop to eat her name so that she would forget the BCC altogether.
So is Betelgeuse supposed to be scary and unsettling/unnerving/creepy because he looks and acts like a generic cartoon character in a series where everybody acts super seriously?
'Cause that nigga's not scary at all. He's just funny.
I think he's supposed to be bordering on funny due to how far gone he is.
You get some explanation as to why he is so crazy in arc 4. And funnily enough, he's the least troublesome of the archbishops based on their character.
THis makes me think about another (possibly related) hypothesis. There is the possibility someone foresaw Rem and Subaru meeting and their relationship and wanted to prevent it becuase it goes against their plans. Thus many incidents could be seen with Rem as the actual intended target.
Possibly the extermination of the onis
Meili was hired by someone in Arc 2 but it's never been stated who the client was and the intended target, but we also know that when subaru stayed isolated it was Rem who died
Also Al reaction is interesting, maybe he was the one who hired meili.
Now that Rem is erased these "conspirators" certainly aren't active because they do not know their target exist. Moreover it's even possible they engineered the encounter with gluttony not expecting that Subaru would remember her
That's very interesting. It actually makes sense too. Rem has been targeted so many times, it's also possible the witch was trying to kill them. Maybe it's because they're trying to stop Rem from stealing Toyota's heart,
>In front, directly ahead of Subaru’s mind, someone stood.
>The shadow grew vertically. Before he knew it, a human silhouette stood before Subaru.
>He couldn’t see its face. The shape was indistinct. But he vaguely thought that it had the shape of a woman.
>The shadow wavered and slowly reached out a hand.
>For some reason, when her fingers gently grazed his mind, Subaru wanted to weep. The wave of strange emotion washing over him suggested that he had always been waiting for her to do so.
>He had an instinctive desire for the wriggling shadow to embrace him, to swallow him whole—and then it stopped. Something had stopped it.
>Subaru’s mind realized that there was another shadow, its white fingers embracing him from behind.
>Her touch felt soft, and not just warm but hot.
>The instant Subaru felt that heat, the shadow before him rapidly faded away.
>He faced his front. His heart trembled. He shouted ferociously. But the world of nothingness had no sound.
>He was left behind as the shadow became distant, fading, fading away.
>Finally, the shadow serenely stretched her fingers out toward Subaru, who was nearly in tears.
>Even the words he could not hear faded, and the world fell apart.
>It was like that hand had rescued Subaru from a bad dream, as if he were a little kid. No doubt someone had held Rem’s hand on some night when she seemed about to cry. Subaru couldn’t help but be happy, even giddy, that she had done the same for him.
>With no reason to let go, their hands remained together. Subaru kept soaking up the warmth as he inclined his head.
What does it all mean? Because the implication seems to be that the second shadow represents Rem, somehow holding him back from embracing and being swallowed up by Envy/Satella.
betelgeuse is not generic and he was only in the anime Le random cartoon chracters
rom was always a giant tho, can't remember if this was stated in arc1 but in arc 3 in the novel they hinted his real name
Another thing I've noticed.
>Rem was the younger twin sister. As her older sister, Ram was painfully aware of her younger sister’s state of mind. Put another way, she knew all too well that it was not in Rem’s nature to be honest with herself.
"not in Rem’s nature to be honest with herself." is an odd things to say, being how she's so obviously in love with Subaru and clearly knows it in later chapters. The only time this would be noticeable as true would have to take place before, and shortly after, the whole dog incident. Throughout the third LN, Rem is showing clear signs of an emotion towards Subaru. Something which absolutely isn't hatred. When she seems him trying his hardest, it reminds her of someone and gives her pain in her heart. When she sees him sleeping in Emilia's lap, she definitely thinks he's pretty fucking cute.
After that point, she has a more positive attitude towards him. Yet the scenes from Subaru's perspective don't reflect that. Instead, they go into how Rem seems a bit miffed by how close he seems with Ram. Now, the obvious explanation is the one Subaru came up with. She doesn't want anyone taking her sister away.
Then there's the alternative explanation, if she's really the sort who has trouble approaching people and isn't honest with herself. Rem's annoyed with Subaru because he's not paying more attention to her, even if she doesn't understand this.
The manga includes some more details and changes less stuff. It still doesn't include everything.
so if Rem is subaru stando
what power does he get
Well, one girl. Roswaal also calls him that. Still, that man can go fuck himself.
Anyhow, I'm hoping the tower springs some weird shit involving Rem on him at some point. They'll probably have to get past Reid first for any of that.
So did Ram start taking the BCC from day one after they were taken by roswaal?
Just read the wiki summary of arc 5. Seems like a real slog. Hell, only one mention of Rem, which is apparently almost one whole year later. If I was Subaru I couldn't imagine just leaving Rem in a coma for that long. But I feel bad that Julius got his name eaten by Gluttony. Feels bad man.
From what I heard, it almost seems to be an introduction to the world and characters after the timeskip. We see Subaru with his parkour, the Bishops all show up to introduce themselves, and the perspective switches between the various factions to show what's going on with them.
I've got the ability to mentally edit sentences and read them the way I prefer them to sound.
Can you imagine if that actually was a spoiler, and a clue to how the series would end? One where Subaru almost goes the full Satella route, but Rem reaches into the darkness to pull him out?
When Remonwater doesn't have access to Rem sidestories, he (sometimes) does side stories he has access to by thread request.
When he doesn't have access and isn't doing requests, he chips at Arc 6. He's been doing t for a while. He's like 9 chapters in or so.
I can and have put up with Bing Translate (filtered by a find+replace of untranslatable proper nouns and keywords).
I assure you, these translations are bliss.
I honestly don't want to imagine consuming anime without subtitles.
Whenever I rewatch an episode, I pay more less attention to the text and notice all the bad animation.
I would *hate* to catch that every time.
Also, without subs, anime would just be... cartoons.
Which is intended, but from my skewed frame of reference it would be weird.
Out of the normal. Unsettling. Take away from the magic. You know?
>Roswaal tells Ram he's responsible for their parents death
>Tells her he uses Rem as a pawn
>Abuses Ram. Nearly kills in the the canon timeline.
>She's still a slave to the BCC
I... think I hate Ram. She's such a doormat. She basically condones Roswaal's actions and Roswaal is basically fucking Hitler here.
I really want to see a season 2 adaptation just for this scene right here.
I hope we get to see her wearing clothes that aren't maid outfits
She's probably outgrown that maid outfit. Either they'll have to get her a new one, or she'll have to wear different clothes for a while after she's woken up.
It's really kind of funny how some people get the impression that Ram isn't submissive and that she's the sister who doesn't take anyone's shit, when she may as well be Roswaal's toilet most of the time. Rem isn't perfect, but she's obviously got a much healthier outlook on romance than Ram does, and is much tougher and more assertive with her love interest.
I suppose that fits into how the sisters are similar, yet different. Rem is often times rash, and clearly has a few screws loose to the point where almost any idiot can see it. A lot of the people around her talk like she's some sort of special project they have to work on, because of her complexes. Rem is visibly irrational.
However, I think the twist here is that Rem is actually the saner sister. Ram's just better at hiding that she's probably at least twice as fucked up as Rem. Rem's love for Subaru is extreme, but it's still more or less based in sanity. She has reasons she likes him, and there are clues she was already attracted to him before he saved anyone. I mentioned a few of those here. >>154916146
She thinks he's cute and that they have stuff in common even before he gets his act together, before she trusts him. Later, she's clearly getting a major heartboner for him when he goes to save the children.
>When Rem watched Subaru head into the forest by himself as she healed the children, her heart fluttered furiously. She was filled with warmth that words could not express.
The way it feels so good to be able to trust him makes me think she'd already started liking him on some level. Also, that she likes that she can trust him.
>Not once had she imagined that trusting someone, trusting Subaru, could feel so good.
There's something already there, most of which more or less makes sense, and it gets stronger due to extreme circumstances.
On the other hand, Ram goes for manipulative demihuman fancier douche clown.
But she doesn't grow or age in her coma. She's frozen at 17 or 18, depending on how the latest stories have set the timeline. The short stories seem to have changed the timeline a bit, so it's currently unclear as to her age. Her time at Roswaal's manor went from seven years to at least nine and several months, seeing as how Annerose hasn't been born yet in the back story. She also went from being almost ten, to being eight.
It's unlikely that going from 18 to 19 she would grow enough to no longer fit in her dress
He's very handsome and gave her a place to stay, and he literally keeps her alive and makes her feel good when he feeds her mana.
Still not sure what special thing he may have done to earn Ram's love. Rem's level of trust seems to just stem from buying into Frederica's reasoning.
It's still likely she will change her appearance as she decided to have her own style instead of mirroring her sister, and depending on how much she'll learn about the events of Arc 4 she might stop to be a maid under Roswaal
Half speculation, half true. Roswaal planned pretty much all of Arc 1 to 4, that's what we know for sure. But reading into it deeper, he might even more of a scumbag than we thought he was.
So what do you guys think they will fuck up in season 2?
That makes me think. What if it's Envy and not Satella the one who forbids Subaru from telling people about RbD? Satella doesn't strike me as someone who would do that, she just wants him to survive and eventually kill her and Envy. She doesn't want him to suffer, yet he always suffers when the hands appear.
>After that, Subaru brought his face close to her and said,
>[Subaru: I love you(suki da)]
>[Subaru: I love you(daisuki da). Isn’t that obvious…If you aren’t with me, I can’t live on…]
>It was his true feelings. If you were to say that this was when he spilled everything out, that wouldn’t be an exaggeration and would be an accurate statement. If it wasn’t for her, he wouldn’t come this far. If she were to disappear, he would not be able to live on.
>[Rem: Ahhh…I’m happy…]
>Rem had an inferiority complex from having only one horn, so she had a habit of looking at other people’s horns in detail.
>Thus, she was the only one who would never mistake one horn for another for her race in the village. And it became a pain that fell onto Rem. There couldn’t be any pain that would be harder to endure.
So Rem really did recognize everyone through horn envy.
someone should make captions for all their expressions.
Also apparently some retailers in Japan have been selling the volume for several days now? 2ch peeps aren't talking about it until it officially releases though.
Last one I know of so far.
It's more of a self-imposed rule out of courtesy I guess? At least in their Re:zero threads.
This is the 3rd and there's still over 60 chapters to go (with them getting longer near the end). I'd be really surprised if it was less than 6.
I think that's all of them
Here to hoping the suicide bombing is still a thing
>Carmilla scene didn't get fucked up
Are we going to experience some EQUALITY?
Looks like Meili is going to show up at the beginning rather than the end of arc 4.
My heart can now rest easy knowing that some semblance of that is still intact.
>Not wanting to see a Yan Emilia
I was expecting her to look little more crazier. I'm rather sad about that.
>Not wanting an illustration of best daughteru
I see they tried to make a Yan Emilia
So what the fuck is Puck? Is she special in any way apart from being a spirit? Can anyone defeat her in her primal form?
Puck is a Great Spirit that may or may not have been made by Echidna. The only one who could kill Puck is Reinhardt after he destroyed half the continent. But Roswaal can go toe to toe with him.
Subaru looks like he aged 20 years or so
This looks so lewd
So what's on fire?
Not crazy enough damnit
This looks cool as fuck
So Petra gets to live some more before Elsa guts her, huh
it's about as necessary as image, your just buthurt about who is in thats why your whining over nothing
nobody else is going to be reading it in Japan is going come cross that image and thinking that
What the fuck are you going on about? That image illustrates a plot-point, not something that that pushes someone down someone's throat. Fuck off.
Yeah, but Is Emilia supposed to be broken not Besereker who had too much coke though. Hence dead eyes and dissonant serenity rather than a typical shit eating grin and laughing. Just like in the WN it was subtle type of unsettling and rather than in your face one.
Look here buddy, you are getting mad over literally nothing. So just tone down a little, if you cant you can fuck off. I don't want to deal with this shit in our threads anymore. I've had bidded my time with ESL and now if I also have to bid it with you as well these threads are beyond hopeless.
>Subaru looks like he aged 20 years or so
To be honest afterall the shit he's seen, he probably feels that way too. Emilia and Rem are only things that really keep him happy, thugh he appreciates everyone else too.
The problem isn't even what scene they chose but how it's shown in that image. It just looks like normal Emilia, there's nothing more to it. Even her eyes don't make it clear that something is wrong with her.
I think it's easy to tell there's something wrong.
Her going crazy isn't with Emilia having a crazy distorted face or anything like that. You can notice her eyes are lifeless real easy, or at least i did.
I do feel like the illustration could have been used on something better. But they were trying to be subtle about her looking crazy, which i like, since it fits with how it's revealed in text.
or you can do both or neither
saying what should get an illustration or is pretty arbitrary and entirely up what the author feels is more important to portray
we don't need images of emilia and rem smiling but there nothing wrong with it either
their there to give empathsis to those scenes
Still hopeful they mixed Roswaal's reveal of the gospel to this part and Subaru freaking out and trying to strangle him in the same loop as him killing Ram and Garf.
Maybe even with an added bonus of Subaru subconsciously reaching out to him with a "hand" that's not his?
Wait, so is it Carmilla disguising herself as Rem the whole time in that scene or is that fake Rem just a being created by Carmilla's power? I still don't understand how Carmilla's power works.
Carmilla disguises herself as "the one he/she desires most in the world". So when she activates her power she doesn't shapeshift but rather the victim's imagination is the one that perceives Carmilla differently.
The former. When you look at her, you see the person you wish to see the most. Subaru was in extreme distressed and wished to see Rem, so Carmilla looked like Rem in turn.
So Rem still is "the girl of his heart" in the LN?
>Rem become Subaru's "the most trusted and reliable girl/friend."
I swear to the almighty if they pull the INTENSE FRIENDSHIP meme on us I'll flip.
>Echidna: “Have a seat, Camilla. —My calling you was intentional, after all.”
>Camilla: “I-is, is something... s-star, starting... now? It wo... won't be, s-sc-scary?”
>Echidna: “There will be nothing scary or painful. —I'd merely like your help to get the pieces moving.”
>Seating herself beside Echidna as offered, Camilla—the WITCH OF LUST—timidly looks at the other witch. Echidna gives Camilla a smile as she easily flicks out her arms.
>Echidna: “—Using your love, I want you to try saving a lost little lamb.”
>Says Echidna to the trembling witch, offering to her her outstretched arms—
She didn't tell Carmilla to turn into Rem, rather she just told him to save him with her "love"
Well other than that fact that you browse that place and you probably should kill yourself. We have the entirety of all of that translated. From chapter 71-74 I believe. Refer to >>154906360 for all translations we've done so far.
Gawdamn, the Emilia nendo looks great. They put quite of good deal of effort into it.
More pics here:
If they mince words like that the WN is forever superior
Shit like that would make me wish Emilia never existed
I'm pretty sure that Tappei wasn't forced by the editor. Editors are always looking for profit and profit is Rem, forcing Emilia is the last thing an editor would do. Chances are that this is Tappei's decision. He did say that he prefers Emilia x Subaru.
So the Camilla scene is confirmed for LN? Amazing! This guarantees it will be in the anime and is therefore pretty damn canon!
>So far he's only been shown to be Kirito like.
Has he? Well fuck. I'm sure the inner monologues of Subaru are still intact. I really don't want him turned into another generic blank slate.
The stuff at the mansion will be different because of Meili, but other than that probably not a lot since this section was actually pretty solid.
Anon, you're not gonna be baiting anyone. We've seen this kind of posting style enough to kno you're shitposter-kun. Are you mad that we derailed your thread dedicated to hating on this series yesterday or something?
Nah, ESL doesn't talk like that, his explanations are more drawn out and such. He is the anon who was making all those "rezero is a mastahpuice" threads before he stopped a couple of weeks back. Latest I heard is that he's targeting Konosuba with his shitposting now.
Meili actually be more relevant instead nearly coming out of nowhere near the end of arc. Basically the LN has been mostly good changes, one neutral one and no bad ones so far. Pacing is especially better.
Shafting Rem for Emilia in the last 5 episodes of the anime was a stupid choice anyway you put it, and if they are bending the LN to fit the anime it's still stupidity by proxy
>he did say that he prefers Emilia x Subaru
He did never state so.
It's often implied he prefers Emilia (and even then I have some reserves), but he did also state the he likes to write Rem X Subaru stuff.
He also said he puts more effort in writing Emilia (but also said that he finds her more difficult to write to begin with) and this is the most direct statement you can get about his predilection and it's still about the character itself rather than pairings.
Then again one can hope he's not petty enough to enforce his waifu at the expense of well narrated love story. That even posits he self-inserts as Subaru to begin with
Like if Tappei is dumb enough to state that he prefers Subaru Emilia and then make a Subaru Emilia ending.
It's like spoiling the end of the story for no reasons. Good luck him with his next work if he actually gonna bring that.
Does it really say that? I guess I'll have to find the tweet myself and nipctionary it.
If anyone want to helps me
Also do you know the date?
I was confident Tappei was good enough to not bring down the story in favor of his waifu but I don't know anymore
>Shafting Rem for Emilia in the last 5 episodes of the anime was a stupid choice anyway you put it, and if they are bending the LN to fit the anime it's still stupidity by proxy
Subaru already loved Emilai before that. It's reason why he did half the shit he did up to that point. Just because he didn't go for waifu at first doesn't change that. Stop being salty.
He has tweeted multiple fanarts of SubxEmu and even in his vol 1 afterward stated that this story conceptual is essential about Subaru and Emilia (which pretty much restated in Arc 3 ending narration before the epilogue). You're just deliberate not putting two and two what most fans know at this point.
>Then again one can hope he's not petty enough to enforce his waifu at the expense of well narrated love story. That even posits he self-inserts as Subaru to begin with
More like he's hoping your smart enough to understand it's his story and he's allow to favor whoever he wants. If you don't like it you always drop the series especially if petty waifuism is all your here for anyway. Getting mad because the author didn't cater to you is just dumb, doesn't matter what side you on and your waifu probably deserves to lose for that fact alone.
Well somehow it sounds like sarcasm to me so I wouldn't jump the gun just yet. I find it hard to believe that Tappei would be into shitty romance even though he's already written a ridiculously good romance in the same story. Unless Tappei is truly a sadist and wants us to suffer by shoving the shitty romance down our throat, I think he would root for Rem x Subaru, for the sake of good writing and readers' enjoyment.
You can't really fake something like that and yeah it should be pretty obvious. Tappei hasn't been hiding his favoritism for that pairing so need spin superhard for it not to be.
People don't understand that Tappei is trolling the fanbase by making it "obvious" who's gonna win. No author is that dumb and would spoil the ending of a story especially if the majority of the fanbase is rooting for the other girl.
Will we ever free ourselves from the "first girl wins" chains?
So I made it to the end. Either I'm blind or the tweet was fabricated, as I didn't see a tweet with characters that match this guy's >>154933134 image.
Feel free to correct me though. I just don't want lies to be shitting up the thread so.
I'm the one who sent the image, I've saved it a long time ago from someone else so I apologize if it turned out to be fake. Currently searching Tappei's twitter, but please don't take it as confirmed or trustworthy tweet.
Again, sorry for unintentionally spreading possible misinformation.
>Naturally, the author is (pushing for/supporting) Emilia
>However, the current expectation of fanart received is of Ram/Rem
That last line might be slightly off but that's what I'm reading at nearly 3am so whatever.
>tfw I got out of bed to search this nonsense
Its fine. People do get fooled from time to time, that's what fact checking is for. As I'd rather not have what I experienced during the anime with the fake spoilers/tweets/newsletters and such. But I really do encourage someone to correct me if I did miss something.
So its just him stating the obvious and what his current wallpaper is?
We literally searched and discussed over fucking nothing.
>Its just him talking about what his wallpaper is
I've been rused
The thing is fans other won't see like that on first place. Most of people (at least in Japan) like Re:Zero for itself not just one character. Anons over here way too much stock into Rem's popular all based on polls and think it controls how Tappei writes the series and how fans feel. You can read the comments on his twitter or whenever Re;Zero gets an awards. It's always positive about liking the story itself. Tappei is going to be fine no matter what he does as long keeps up the quality he's been putting out.
Not him but really it comes down to how he executes everything. Everything has buildup and foreshadowing, which is why there is ammunition for many twists for the story that could be predicted really early on. If he delivers a good story then really, its nobody's loss. Plus Tappei isn't that bad of a writer to just straight up drop things. After a ton of buildup.
Also not him so 7%?
>I was generous with the numbers
Isn't "80-20" literally the same as "1/4 of one side"?
Did he actually do more in the WN in arc 3? I often see people complain about him being cut here
Still not helping. And no outdated polls don't mean anything. I bet you don't know Remfags also draw SubaxEmi. Really it doesn't seem like most of them there that the whole waifuwars things here as seriously these threads do preferences aside.
Q: Otto's memory of his first crush?
A: Otto's blessing means he can speak with basically anything, so he doesn't strictly need to limit his romance targets to humans. There was a time where he had a thing going for a friendly, personable cat, but the cat didn't see him as a romantic partner and thus Otto was ruined. But not actually.
>as long keeps up the quality he's been putting out
>Implying shafting a well put romance for the poster girl wouldn't be a quality drop
>Bros letting their shipper hearts take control and fighting each other again
Yep. This guy for example:
and he did a SubaxRem doujin another time. The japanese fanbase seems much less divide about the pairings.
Help me Ferri-fag I can't stop. I need the impulse is too strong.
Ferri is not homosexual. Crusch-sama is a strong flower.
>Imagine Ferri x Crusche was a thing
>and the author stated that he ships Ferri x Subaru
Rembros and Emiliabros reactions would give me power.
Q: Otto's experiences with relationships?
A: His first relationship was him being rebuffed by a cat. As for human relations: he's the second son of a merchant family which means he has decent manners, he looks reasonably attractive and he's smart, so you think he'd do well HOWEVER he is absent of luck and thus No.
>Bros attacking me for criticizing their shipper hearts taking control and them fighting each other, again
You look through his pixiv account right here:
The fanart in question:
The guy seems to have obvious preference for SubaxRem but won't lose his shit if doesn't happen since he acknowledges SubaxEmi. Hell he draws fanart of Emilia. There also Emiliafags that do art of Rem or parings with her. So there less cut and dry tribalism.
If you assume Tappei is petty enough to enforce his waifu over the narrative you could make the connection.
Corollary: the people arguing that Emilia will win because she's Tappei's favorite are also throwing him under the bus to make their point
Q: What kind of vibe/mood were you thinking of when you came up with Otto?
A: No clue. The birth of a character is always something dramatic. When the story got onto the track of 'there's this guy hurting for money who I think'll accept your request, even if it's one that usually wouldn't get accepted. Wanna try talking to him?' and I wrote a character who felt like they'd accept Subaru's request, it was Otto.
Can people give it a rest with the RemXEmilia shit?
If Tappei was really biased, he wouldn't even have given such proper focus for Rem and a bunch of other characters. Stop being mentally challenged and think for one fucking second and you'll notice he's not pushing one more than the other.
Now I want to know, what's wrong with Ferri x Crusch-sama? Why don't you think it's a thing?
My shipper heart is taking control. I guess I can't blame you bros anymore.
How did all this hostility between come around in the first place? I wan't here when the anime was around but I've heard from the older anons that it was due to something that happened during that time. As before people were pretty chill talking about the series a moth prior to that.
>the point is that some artists do draw both ships.
Yeah, that's the point. Some do draw them but most of them don't. Saying that "Japs are so much better than we are!!!" just because of few artists who don't care about ships is dumb.
I come a long ways back, before the first episode was aired even. The problem is there were a bunch of tripfags and anons who were just outright retarded when discussing about the things happening in Re:Zero's story and its characters. It was all fine and dandy up until spfag and his little brigade just began shitting up threads which ruined the reputation and just being up bad memories when talking about Emilia at all honestly. As most of the people who tried to talk reasonably were shut down with people literally just typing in all caps and shitposting.
Using a couple of artist who do both arts to prove that Japanese remfags in general are less dedicated to shipping wars is a very long shot
>>154936177 gets it
I do agree. It's not like we know about the Japanese fandom to judge them, we don't know if they are hardcore shipping fans or here for the plot fans.
Posted the link because someone asked for an example.
That honestly is a bad fan art to show Subaru and Emilia as a legit romantic couple. I do know there are some better SubaruxEmilia fan arts out there so you might want to use them rather than the one you posted.
do a side by side comparison, it's the same
