I noticed something during my rewatch, when Serval got smashed by the Cerulean in this scene, the same sickening crunch that was heard when the Cerulean stepped over Kaban played as well.

My conclusion based on this is that Kaban is alive but is gonna end up "eaten" by the Cerulean and as such losing her memories.
