On one side, I would be lying if I didn't admit School Rumble isn't one of the series I miss the most. That ending out of fucking nowhere was more brutal than the endings of serializations that were actually cancelled.

On the other it's been too fucking long, I don't know if today's me would enjoy his "misunderstandings" style of comedy much like re-reading the likes of Love Hina today wouldn't hold up as it did in the early-mid 00s

I would only pick it up if it declared that horrid final chapter and the entirety of Z non-canon and continued from where it actually stopped, Harima going to live on ojou's house for some contrived reasons I can't even remember right now.

Nah. Yakumo was 200% Harima's support through much of the latter half of the manga mainly because of his feelings for Tenma.

I wouldn't say Eri pushed Harima to improve himself unless by improvement you mean "look at people besides Tenma" which is very very true.

Basically Yakumo was Harima's enabler, pushing his dangerous Tenma obsessed lifestyle while Eri was just trying to get him into another drug, mainly her.

One of my favorite parts about Eris' character is her jealousy. It's unlike the simple kind you'd see in animu where a girl would glare or pout at the romantic interest and think "B-baka! Why aren't you looking at me?".

Her jealousy isn't directed at Harima but at the girls. She'd back talk them and ignore them. She'd be the definition of passive aggressive. It's ugly and real and makes her character better.

2nd OP is clear winner as it does everything the 1st OP does (establish characters and tone) but better along with introducing one of the best parts of School Rumble, the large and fun cast.

I personally love the 2nd seasons 1st ed. The english version of 2nd ed of the second season is my guilty pleasure
