6/10 it was OK, what did /a/ think of SAO the movie?
How can Kirito become a pro enough AR fighter to beat a guy with a combat computer, but he can't beat Johnny Black with dual umbrellas?

Fuck Odex

Worth it for the action animation alone.

Action animation wasn't even that good, final boss was a disappointment.

Why, what did they do?
I went in expecting it to be bad. The pacing was terrible, but you could tell the studio was trying given how shit the novel was and how some sequences were great (I use Klien's scene in the beginning where he fought with his friends as an example) which supports the AR vs VR plot point they tried to get people into, but there were so many asspulls in the novel that they had to add, even the whole theater started laughing at the plot conveniences.
During the scene when Kirito fell on Asuna and they gave that "I love you" look to each other, someone shouted "FUCKING FINALLY". The theater lost it and started laughing/clapping.
While the movie was pretty shit I'm happy I went. I'll be going to the next one too.

I watch it ironically

Wait, there is a source novel for the movie?
It succeeded at being an SAO movie, at least.
