Also got my third Taiga school uniform nendoroid.
First one my dad lost because I accidentally sent it to his house, second one was "100% authentic bought from good smile company! Can show proof!" From eBay and it ended up being a fucking bootleg (seller later admitted she didn't even know if it was authentic) and third was actually supposed to be the dengeki version (I even paid extra to get this version) with the extra faceplate from Mandarake but I can't even trust them too because they sent me the normal release version with only the one other faceplate (in the listing photo you could see the extra faceplate of the dengeki version). Currently emailing them about it now and they asked me to send pictures.
But it's nice to finally have her.

I've got a problem with one of my figures. I had it in storage for a few years while I had a smaller apartment, now that I've gotten it back out, something has gone horribly wrong with it. It seems to be breaking down or something. Certain parts of it are coated with this sticky, waxy substance that is impossible to clean off. It's even hard to get off your fingers. It definitely wasn't like this when I put it back in its box. ( And before anyone says anything, I didn't hotglue it.) Is the plastic breaking down? What can I do? How can I stop this from happening to my other figures.

Mikatan guide is good. I bought a figure off someone who had it in storage and had the same thing.

Let figure sit in the warm water/washing liquid mix for an hour. Wash it off by hand. Let the figure sit and dry for an hour. Repeat until it's acceptable. I might also suggest putting it in the refrigerator for 30 mins after washing to kind of resolidify the PVC.

I guess it happens because plasticizer vapor builds up inside the box. If the box isn't too tightly sealed, under a pile of other boxes and if the storage room has a sufficient airflow it's probably fine. I mean, there's no way all these second-hand figures shops would let their goods rot in their boxes if there was no way around it.

The re-release is higher quality and better of course, but my room is just extremely dirty and full of dust at times that the glossy texture on the re-release would get messed up if I don't brush it every day.

I'd pretty much say used figures from Japan will never have that issue unless disclosed. It takes a long period of time in a non-climate controlled environment or humid environment for this to happen. Japanese figure ratings are really strict.
