What no. Literally the only difference is it breaks the downward acceleration drops it's downward velocity initial by about 7 feet. If there was some sort of funnel to slow down the flow rate that'd be different but it's the same as dropping the bucket 7 feet
this is a newer safer one but the old one was shaped like the front of a bulldozer, was closer to the ground, and had sharp edges
