It's not too surprising if you think about it, design wise Edna hits on all the right spots or them, doesn't breach her role and piss people off. It's hard to truly tell if people even still hate Rose anymore considering how she basically trumps Alisha in the merchandise department and she has had two well received retellings thus far where people reacted more positively to her character. I remember Rose getting a lot of hate for her design being too plain. Alisha on the other hand seems popular but all her merchandise thus far has flopped, it could be because she was never truly popular to begin with but only seemed that way because of the memetic obsession of her fans, or that people started to become neutral or even disliked her later on because like you said hey realized that she's boring.

And even then the problems aren't about Alisha despite what Alishafags claim, the real problem with Zestiria's story was Rose never getting called out for her bullshit and then stealing the spotlight from Sorey. Plus the characters weren't ever allowed to grow because of it.

Then the problem with the equipment system, camera and gameplay, plus the skits being locked to inns instead of happening through out the journey.

Plus the real controversy the buggy final battle that made the game unplayable.

If Rose wasn't a sociopath, the gameplay was fun, the camera just fine, and the other characters allowed to have character development then you it wouldn't hear anything about Alisha.

Alishafags may be loud but they're also really small in number hence why Berseria's sales didn't slow down.
