I love how this episode manages to keep up its quality and become even better week by week.
Everyone's favourite grumpy old man finally became a happy old man!
And he might even become a dead man! Yotaro wants Konatsu to learn rakugo! Konatsu is going to have a child! Lots of nice emotional stuff all around. I just can't wait for the next episode.

What do you think Shinosuke will get, an imouto or an otouto?

This is easily one of the best shows in the last 5 years, maybe 10.

This series is a fucking emotional rollercoaster, I've been crying like a baby throughout the past few episodes out of happiness, sadness, fear and I'm sure I'll be doing the same next week. Yotaro's reaction to Konatsu's pregnancy and Kiku being so happy were so heartwarming.

I feel blessed to watch a masterpiece like this as it's airing.

Kiku dying after that episode felt extremely right though. He finally was at ease with a lot of things that had happened, mending the relationships, appreciating the small things in live. Although there was still "more" for him to do, there was a sense of closure there in that he's finally old enough to just let go.

After last week's insanity and drama it was so good to see a nice, happy episode for once. Everything about it was so wholesome (except for that part with Sukeruku, but this show is like that). He is doing the last performance that they did together and playing his role from it. Bon played the old bones that got fished up in their duo so thats why he greets him with , "hey bones."

And when Bon is first waking up. Shin is at the part of the story that talks about how the ghost was finally able to move on because of the honor the guy paid her. And that the ghost wished to come and greet him as thanks for what he did.

Basically Shin is coming to greet Kiku in the land of the dead as thanks for Kiku raising Konatsu.

The anime seems to like to keep things ambiguous. Konatsu's lines and actions don't not make sense in the anime without it, it's just left up to you to wonder if she's crying over Miyokichi's appearance or Yakumo's performance; and whether she's saying the "mother's ghost" line knowingly or sarcastically.
