Honestly, even if re-translated everything 5 times and every time would be more "accurate" than the previous one I'm 100% certain that it would still full of mistranslated stuff, skipped stuff, and outright made-up stuff.

The shoddy translation is part of the issue, certainly, but all this could have been avoided if he had been upfront from the get-go. The deceit and the lie is the killer here, and that's why so many are so upset and aren't willing to give him a second chance. He pulled one over all of us, got discovered, and simply excused himself and shifted the blame to many things all but him and sometimes even covered the lie with even more lie.

It's not just about the "act" but "the intention behind the act".

As someone was is currently reading Limited now for the first time from both translated versions. I have to say that I'm having a real blast with it. Its actually been a lot of fun comparing and contrasting between the two as I read through the story. And if I have to be honest there are parts where I actually prefer TL-kun's version over the 'Chinese' version?

That's sadly just the tip of the iceberg, she's not the only one you will see differs heavily. God knows how many other characters have been butchered in the other novels that we don't know about.

Honestly, the translation is "serviceable" enough, much over a summary but really under a 100% tip top TL. But there's no way something of this sort wouldn't leave a very bitter taste on people's mouth. The anger and bitterness is very well justified, specially when it all could have been avoided had he been upfront from the get-go. In that case I'm certain a bunch of people would have offered their help, specially considering when back then we would have been at peak activity. If it happened now with Chink-anon when people went over his translations and checked over and over for things and pointed out mistakes and stuff to him I'm sure it would have happened back then too.

There are parts I prefer in TL-kun's version too, or parts I liked better, but the fact is that TL-kun's version was not the real one and he should not have taken liberties to change things as much as he did. It was fabrication. And while there are parts I liked better, there are also a lot of things that didn't make sense in his whereas when I read the Chinese it cleared up questions I had about certain inconsistencies.

I'm not sure how you're not seeing how it's fanfiction, to me it was completely different from the parts I read... however, what I read was just parts. Pukin and Sonia are my favorite characters, so I have so far only read only their scenes in the re-translation, and they were both very different from TL-kun's presentation of them. I haven't seen how 7753's character differs from TL-kun's rewrite of her, but I think it's safe to say the two of them were just as skewed. So it's not only 7753.

I need to actually read the whole CN re-translation to make proper judgement (I have plans to soon) but I think you're being too lenient with TL-kun if you say you can't see the fanfiction. He altered too many parts of the story and characters to just be simple "changes" and then presented them as truths.

They're all different between the two translations but the only ones I would classify as 'heavy' would be 7753, Pukin and Tot Pop.

Yes I do agree there were parts of TL-kun's that was confusing, for example it said in his version that Ripple's magic has a range limit of 3 metres which doesn't make sense, but I figured it was referring to Hana's magic, which was confirmed when I read the Chinese version.

Because for me, as I've been reading both versions I can say that in TL-kun's version, I 'most' of the time do get the same general message conveyed across as I do in Chinese version, the difference is the Chinese version is much better presented and explained. There are exceptions of course like 7753's character in Chapter 2.

From what I've read so far, 7753, Pukin/Sonia and Tot Pop scenes had the most differentiation. So I will say that the parts you've read are part of the major differences.
