She probably understood the exact moment after she found out who Jun was that Misuzu was the one in that love triangle with the other two. The reason Carol has been so interested in Misuzu lately is because Carol understands that if Tomo and Jun naturally progress through the path they are currently on everything is going to work out for them. Carol KNEW Tomo or Jun wouldn't confess at the fireworks festival. Carol KNEW Misuzus plan would backfire. Carol KNOWS Misuzus dealing with some emotional pain right now.
