Japari Park was created around the sandstar as a biological reserve. The way the biomes are structured and preserve weather is too unnatural without its magic unless this takes place far in the future. Sandstar began turning animals and animal parts into friends because cute things are cute. Only one at a time it seems and they likely get replaced if they die. Ceruleans followed and attack anything affected by the sandstar. It's been said they follow after humans too. Humans fled the island at some point and haven't returned. The game was the first part of the project made so it gets the distinction of being the flagship. When that ship sunk it left the anime and PPP in limbo. I still think it needs a bit more to be obviously an intentional attempt to tie them together. You could say that Mirai just happens to be something the anime creators took from the game as a character for their parks history too and the use of game Serval's voice was just an easter egg for the ex-players. If they wanted to make it clear to a wide audience you'd think they'd make it slightly more obvious when hardly anyone watching will have played the game. There could be more coming though.

My understanding is that I don't think it is actually possible to reconcile the game, anime and manga properly anyway and as far as I am aware that isn't any intention that has been expressed in interviews. If what I have read about the web is true they all have different particulars that contradict each other in smaller ways. At best it can take parts of history from others but never say they are all the same thing on a continuous timeline that makes consistent logical sense.

Even in the newest episode itself, although referencing the game, they also changed stuff in those references. Mirai in the game also gave an explanation about the Cerulians eating when they were in the hotsprings, but the actual explanation wasn't really the same - in the game, they talk about the Ceruleans stealing or copying characteristics from others and from their food, an element that so far doesn't seem to exist for the anime Ceruleans, and they were said to be attracted to a generic "radiance" from all living things, rather than specifically "Sandstar".

Mirai was also in the manga. She's presumably a character Mine created for the franchise as a whole, not the game specifically. The only thing I'd really consider a reference was if the other person on the recording really is another Serval.

Yeah I agree too as the poster of that. I don't think they do I think if anything at most the anime might just be taking elements from the histories in the other media and using them to flesh out their setting and backstory rather than fitting them altogether. Or it could just be some references for people who enjoyed the other media.
