There's a clear difference between first season Onpu and last season Onpu. You're reminded of it in Dokka~n too.

Now that you've brought it up though this is another reason as to why Ojamajo's so fucking good. Characters never really lose their selves, they grow yet they also retain their personality. The most obvious example of this is definitely Tamaki-san. She's super unique in how she's handled, it's very cool.

It's a fun character-driven series. Lots of goofy faces all around too.

The highlight of the show isn't even the magic but all of the characters and getting to know them. You get to feel an attachment to Doremi's classmates and friends and it's pretty cool. It's all handled very delicately too, never focusing on obvious tragedies that've been done countless times again and again. It's a very unique show with very unique characters. The show also gets very sad which is a fun joke to make at parties. Follow the chart that was posted earlier itt.

There's, like, twenty pages of doujins on sad panda of the show too. It's very popular in japan. If you're the kinda' fellow that loves fapping to doujins of shows you know something about then this is a good show to get into.

It's the perfect middle ground in Mahou shoujo. It can be watched and enjoyed from both child and adult's perpective. It can be sad but it also has fun moments, it's comfy at times and other times it's full of adventure, there is something for everyone. Plus the characters are pretty likeable and they all are flesh out, some more than anothers but that's to be expected. Fisrt season isn't that great though, it still has some good moments but you can notice they got more liberties from season 2 onwards.
It's a must watch anime in general.
