Second release should be the hollow equivalent of a bankai. I personally would have loved it if Ulqiorra was revived and killed Yhwach since nihilism deaththeme would counter the almighty but who still gives a shit.

I dont think he was showing that hollows were capable of it so much as he was just showing he was capable of it. Its really just a bullshit way for Ulqiorra to retain the number 4 tattoo for stylistic reasons but also be able to transform so he could be the strongest Espada.
Think about it, obviously the second form would rank him above Stark and full power Yammy as the strongest espada, otherwise why would the climactic battle with him get so much more attention than the battle involving Stark? Its just some stupid bullshit to make Ulqiorra more threatening.

Because he died. Ulquiorra was the one that learned something from Orihime and Ichigo, not the other way around. After the dome incident, he finally understood what the "heart" was.

Resurreccion gets the user closer to their original Hollow state. Segunda Etapa was seemingly an almost full reversion since Ulquiorra is pretty close to what he looked like as a hollow there.

I'm willing to accept the shortcomings of the Bount arc, because I really enjoy how it handled it's lore and fights. It was well-paced, the characters were memorable and the fights enjoyable. If we went into the Bount arc now, with what we know each character can do, things would be much different, but for what it was, when it was introduced, it was great filler.

Memories of Nobody did more for Bleach in an hour than the Quincy did in almost two years.

Im still so fucking mad we never got a TBTP Part 2 for the Quincy Shinigami war a thousand years ago. How would you guys feel about if Ichigo never got his powers back after Aizen's defeat (not that he needed them to in this plotline)?

He has to deal with the fact that he is a two dimensional character whose only ever focused on protecting others. Now that he can't even do that, he is overpowered by this feeling of powerlessness and despair. He goes tumbling down the rabbit hole into a full blown psychological meltdown.

Things(drama?) happen in the real world and Ichigo has to deal with them the way only a high schooler can, eventually learning acceptance and pursuing change.

Followed by someone offering to get him his powers back, but him declining realising that he no longer needed them to be the kind of person he wants to be.

Seeing the world from Keigo's perspective and hearing his inner monologue, we realise that the he's majorly depressed, that all the clowning is just a front he puts up to hide how miserable he truly is. Things come to head after a failed suicide attempt, his friends gather around him in the hospital, they all lament being so blind to his suffering and promise that they will do better. After being released he kills himself anyway, sparking the realisation that some things cannot be fixed, and the the true power of friendship isn't magical powerups and deus ex machina but the ability to recover and grow as a person using that support structure.

Tatsuki comes to terms with her one sided affection for Ichigo, she tries to change herself to be more feminine, maybe he'll notice her if she does. He doesn't. She realizes that regardless of how much she tries to change her external image, those who are close to her will always see her for who she really is. They aren't fooled by the mirage. She decides to confess to Ichigo anyway, as she resolves herself to accept that that is the only way to move on regardless of how difficult a rejection may be. (He might accept it or not)

Orihime comes to terms with the fact that her infatuation with ichigo is merely that, an infatuation born of the need to project on a reliable male figure after her brother's death, and that she'd been using him as an emotional crutch ever since. That she's been stagnating as a person, unable to move forward, find meaning in what she does. She fears being lonely; she fears asserting herself to those around her because she is afraid of distancing them. That her whimsical devil may care persona is the easiest way to maintain the status quo, even if it is emotionally suffocating. Her arc is resolved when she breaks her leg in an accident and becomes determined to to pull herself up when she falls down with her own strength.

I like to think Ichigo's Bankai was full-on Speedforce bullshit.

Ulquiorra, from the beginning, was the 'main' espada and clearly Ichigos big fight.

However, they pulled the "OMG he's only 4" as another shock moment during the arc. But Ichigo wasn't going to fight 1-3 so we somehow had to have him jump from Ulq to Aizen. Thus, Ulquiorra got another powerup to explain that he could be up there with the top, and its not as much of a jump.

Honestly the only scene I need to bring up is the whole dome incident. Even after seeing him in his vasto lord form, she didn't fall out of love with him which debunked the whole "its just a crush or she just sees ichigo as a prince charming" argument, actually the opposite happened since she's just even more in love with him in the next arc.

Orihime has seen Ichigo at his worst and best and loves it all. Her love for him is one of the few consistent things in the entire manga desu.

They even aged and went to school. But what parents let their kids work/live with sandle hat? If it's a bunch of mod souls, why do they age? Just a function of the body they inhabit? Did they just swap to a new body every year?

Multiple answers are conceivable, we don't know what's correct (like much of the speculation after it ended, we have potential headcanon answers but nothing from the author to set in stone what answer is 'correct').

I wouldn't have him completely avoid ghost magic. I'd have it catch up to him, 'this is literally what you are, you cannot escape'. Something needed to be done with the character beyond 'must protect group of friends', an interest in the past, the shit his lineage is involved in? The cataclysmic end of the world was set in motion long before the final arc (still had to deal more with quincies, since of Ichigo's friends that was the last group to explore, and had to weave SK in somehow).

Not getting his powers back could have been a good angle to go with.

Stark never showed the sheer destructive capabilities or beam spam of Ulq. Sure he beam spammed, but most characters only did generic shock face, no one got vaporized by it, so it's scale in the story is lacking. Shark tits was another lame fight, shrugging off ice shota but then a simple slash takes her down. But skelington worked best, unavoidable attack that actually did damage.

In a world where you know your friend is some weird ghost-human hybrid what does a mask scare you? That never made sense. He'd been on a completely different level to her the entire time. That wasn't the first time she'd seen him having a ball of fun fighting and screaming. And yes I'd call it him having fun given how he just one shots grimmjow with the cliche 'no more playing'.
