I was in a coma for a week where I could think and hear the world outside but couldn't wake myself up.

I've been going to psychological counseling once a week for two years since then. I am terrified of going to sleep and frequently have nightmares where I die and my conscience doesn't leave my body but I instead rot inside of it for all eternity.

I literally could not imagine someone doing this for more than a month before giving up and fading away. Rather, I wouldn't want to imagine the kind of person who can do that sort of thing.

So right off the bat I dislike the characters and find them unrealistic, which isn't such a bad thing since it's jump and that's just standard. I'll keep reading since the premise itself is interesting and depending on how they go about this (I imagine it's going to be either focusing on tribe building and technological advancements or it will turn into tribal infighting with lots of fistfights and stone axes) I'll drop it within the next few chapters.

Obviously a story about a man and a woman founding the human race as we know it is going to involve sex (whether the story explicitly mentions it or not). But Japanese don't treat the Christian mythos as something sacred like many Westerners do. To them, it's just a story. Trying to discern the authorial intent of one line in the first (and only chapter) is a fool's errand, but speculating is fine. This is just my interpretation. To me it was a short-hand for founding an entirely new era of human history from nothing. The world has clearly been reset, and they have a grand dream of bringing back an essentially dead civilization to save humanity as a species and repopulate the earth. If the author wanted to do a wink-wink-nudge-nudge about anything, he wanted brownie points for referencing Christianity.

Obviously there is fujo appeal. I wouldn't be surprised if there were small moments shown for the express purpose of keeping them interested. But this isn't one of them (this chapter's "moment" would be the naked hug attempt a few pages prior, if anything).
