I have been thinking what way they are going to progress this arc and what you said is probably the main thing for the girl to overcome. Kyouko is childish with a love for Shojo manga. But she thinks for Shouichi to notice her she has to be more feminine and adult like. I think Shouichi is going to change her to come accept herself for who she truly is and that she don't need to chance her ways. You can see both Shouichi and Kyouko excited about that release of the new manga and Kyouko is taking it the wrong way that Shouichi doesn't like it.

Which tackles the other what i think is going to play a role in this arc the keeping up appearance aspect. Shouichi likes the manga but he doesn't want to ruin his already pretty weak status. It would be nice to balance this out with Tsunekis feelings because as we seen this ep she likes the geeky things like making those battle poses and playing gasugal. Would be nice to see her coming to term with the things she likes. And giving her the confidence to do in life what she want. Because in her route she didn't get the closure like Tooru got.

Kyouko already seems to get a closure during her arc. If he doesn't enter Kyouko route she will probably learn skills to be taken more seriously.

Which build up to the ruise route. Her little sister Rin obviously also likes the kind of stuff the other kids like. But she isn't allowed to like those kind of things because of very strict parents. Would be nice for Shouichi to man up and convince Ruise that these things aren't hurtful. Maybe that is the gateway into Ruise finally opening up because her only weakness probably is going to be Rin. I don't see how else they are going to open her up maybe during something what happens during the second years trip.

Or maybe the kyouko arc is going to trigger something that makes them already familiar like rin and they get to know each other better during the trip and develop something because Shouichi already helped her before.

I like Seiren, here's the differences:

>it has an overarching storyline from which the routes branch off (no complete resets after each route)
All of these things can be viewed as either pros or cons. Similarities:

>MC is a pervert
>the girls are cute
Basically, it's not a copy of Amagami, it's Seiren. So if you want it to be exactly the same, you'll be disappointed, but it's still close enough to be enjoyable. And it has it's own merits, mainly the way all the routes are connected to each other, just makes the setting more interesting. Not many people like every single route in Amagami, so I think when it's over and we have the full picture, people will appreciate it a bit more.

Its an overarching story and i completely agree with him. But the thing i think above that and the key difference with Amagami is that in Amagemi the goal is romance while here in Seiren the "award" is romance. It feels like a SoL where each girl has her problem that Shouichi helps to overcome and becoming a better person in the process. As most people aren't as bitching as much of him in the beginning. But to come back to you wanting to see less Hikari. Her "problem"of finding her goal in life isn't met in the common route. You can see Tooru wanting to improve and starts to study if she doesn't end up with Shouichi. This has yet to happen to Hikari and that is why we still see importance of that lie in the timeline. She will overcome that i think in this route. I am expecting Kyouko to develop enough of becoming more mature yet holding close that quirky childish side of her and becoming more popular in school because of it. Then her "problem" is also solved she accepted herself and can work on becoming a good housewife or something. With her becoming the tool to have closure with Tsuneki and opening up with Ruise because they introduced her little sister in this arc.

The other routes also have more in common with Ruise. Makoto probably will have problems with self confidence and speaking up. She has a connection with Ruise and one of Ruise problems is that she wants people to behave reasonable. But what is reasonable? People wanting a goal in life and to fight for it seems reasonable. But if it doesn't fit Ruise her picture people get problems because of it. I will think this will be the overarching plot of the second season.

Well they managed to find a way to fit tsuneki miss popular into a gamer route. It probably has to do something with swimming. Maybe it has to do with her kid sister learning how to swim. There was this poll a couple of threads ago where ruise came in first as favorite seiren. Followed by Tsuneki so i am sure plenty of anons like her. I actually came to watch this serie for Miu but Tsuneki has really grown on me. But i am reserving judgement on who is best for after when all the arcs played out. Also i am almost 100% certain her route will not take place during summer camp since that locks the tsuneki route acording to the timeline. I don't see them splitting again after a divergence point. That would be to convoluted amd that way shouichi cant progress her part of the common route.
