What's there to explain? It's low ranked so you can get it out really quickly and allows you to flood with yet more low levels. And then you can stop your opponent from playing spell/trap/effects. It's also unlimited so you can have multiple copies of it, so you kill it only for it to come back again.

They do though. Something like a frog deck is filled with cards that's all about special summoning low level aqua. While you're off trying to search/ tribute summon or special summon high level monsters that have crazy effects with high costs, I can easily get multiple toads, throw something like wetlands and now I have a toad that has higher attack than BEWD and you can't defend since your spell/trap/effect choices are restricted.

A lot of them have rather high costs to maintain or use. Toad is simple and costs very little.

That's the point. DM was never about being the the main beater. DM works because it has a ridiculously high number of good support built specifically around it. You were never trying to make a unique deck to begin with. There's absolutely nothing unique about a deck that's put together without considering how they work with each other because anyone can do that, it doesn't require creativity, strategy or anything of that sort.

That's not even the worst example. The game even managed to last as far as 4 turns. Some of the crazier instances include OTKs/ finishing off the opponent by turn 2. I remember seeing some BEWD deck player basically flood and block all the opponent's spell/trap/effect in 2 turns.

I forgot to mention that because I also started with Zoodiac Barrage and Left Arm Offering I didn't need to use my normal summon at all. I could've used barrage to set up Zoodiac board, summoned King of Feral Imps, Left armed out instant fusion, then used King to search a new Tyrant.
