I was on the bus some months ago. There was a korean or maybe chinese kid sitting in front of me, looking at his phone. On the phone was a CGI pseduo technical schematic of some kind of spacecraft. There is a cultural fascination with robotics and machinery in Asia that we do not currently have in our culture.

Seed destiny and E7 was pretty popular when it was on so I guess it has to do with children born 2002-2008 not being exposed to that at the ages of 5-9.
