Maybe? It's hard to say. Originally Warner Bros was doing Death Note for a theatrical release. They largely walked away from it after the project actually got off the ground, and Netflix stepped in to rescue it. No word when that's coming out, but i will admit i'm curious how weird the CG Ryuk will be and how they got Willem Dafoe to agree to this.

GitS was originally a Disney-produced flick, but they dropped it like a bad habit as if they just realized this was a terrible idea. Paramount is now in charge. I find it difficult to think anyone is looking forward to this

If they are changing the setting to America, then I'm more okay with the whitewash. It's still annoying though that this could have been a great movie for Asian actors that was instead gobbled up by white Hollywood.
