Here's the thing though, arguably, you shouldn't do a lot of things in your life, like shitposting on 4chan or watching anime for most of your free time since you could arguably do something more productive with your time, however, we do shit we weren't supposed to all the time.

Wishing for someone to save you from a situation that you see no way out is very instinctive and won't be stopped by someone simply telling you that the person won't come, because people know this, they know no one will probably come, but they wish It did anyway.
