Maid Dragon is a brighter kind of fun. I'd describe my enjoyment of Interviews as kind of a slow burn sort of deal. I feel satisfied at the end of an episode, in a different way from Maid-Dragon.

There's a recurrent theme with most 'monster' series, about how both human and monster societies try to live together and understand one another on an interpersonal level. Maidragon premise is different in the sense that these dragons live in another dimension, they don't want nor care to blend their society with ours, they are also basically demi-Gods who can outlive this planet. The few dragons that live in the human world turn themselves human to physically blend in. The series doesn't get into the typical tropes of humans discriminating against monsters, one because no one but Kobayashi, her co-worker and Kanna's friend know they exist, and two because they could easily blow this planet to shreds if they felt like it, so the typical monster genre dynamics are already quite different. Humans and dragons are not on equal terms, it'll be like comparing humans to rats. This show is more similar to something like Nyaruko than to Monster Musume or Demi-chan.

The recurrent theme of Maidragon is 'living the moment', all the while each character has their own theme as well, Tooru is prejudice against humans at first, then wanting to understand them under the excuse of not wanting to lose to them, it's not really the same type of prejudice that someone would have against other race or nationality, more like a kid trying to understand how an ant colony is so organized if they can't speak as humans do.
