Please describe what a perfect anime would entail in your opinion.
It would pay me 50000 dollars an episode to watch it and last for 200 episodes
WW2 anime except Hitler has the personality of Light
>>153932714
An anime with no cliches, archetypes, tropes, unrealistic or gimmicky characters, or moe.
Gay porn
>>153932833
this
>>153932833
so a screen displaying static for 20 minutes.
>>153932833
evangelion is close to that description
>>153932973
I like Evangelion, but that's not true at all. Evangelion has pretty much every mecha cliche. It subverts many of them, which makes it much better, but it still has them.
Something that /v/ wouldn't watch in a million years.
K-On
my dick
>>153932833
that's not possible
>>153933154
its not a robot if it has organs and blood
Something that even retarded american imperialist won't appreciate.
Milky Holmes, just more ecchi.
Something like a 2000's Godard movie in the style of Hidamari Sketch
>>153932973
>kuudere
>tsundere
>weak male protag
>the drunken slacker mentor
Just off the top of my head.
Eva was good but it was riddled with cliche.
>>153933278
being conscious of and playing with tropes is a trope
>>153933362
no that's subversion, although there are some subversions that are so overdone they become cliches. Like having a character obviously be the villain and then the plot twist is they weren't, they're just naturally very suspicious.
Legend of galactic heroes but less gay and faster paced.
>>153933477
being excessively subversive is cliche
>>153932714
A genius battle like in Death Note or Code Geass, but combined with the character development of FMA, and with FMA's low amount of anime cliche, and cohesive plot.
...but in a fantasy world with a retrofuturist 80's setting (complete with some sythwave inspired music), as long as it doesn't beat you over the head with the setting.
>>153932714
Hyperion Cantos as a KyoAni SoL.shrike-chan is peak waifu
>>153932714
realistic romance with a bittersweet ending
realistic, likeable characters
>alternatively
good sci-fi
>>153932833
Then what would the point of it being an anime?
>>153934336
So I can post about how boring it is on /a/.
- completely new ideas, innovative
- a film only conceivable as animated
- a staff of auteurs, where each animator is given a degree of independence
- of the highest technical quality ever seen
- favourably comparable to the greatest works of cinema, animated or otherwise
Armored Core, but with a joshua o'brian soundalike acting as a cool mentor to a jacked up, mentally fucked up loli pilot.
>>153932802
That would be interesting.
But anyone powerful/has superpowers and the personality of Light sounds pretty interesting.
Riding Bean but with an insanity curve that would make Mad Bull 34 weep in shame
>>153932833
It's impossible to not have tropes, silly.
>>153932833
Literally Serial Experiments Lain and Texhnolyze
>>153934621
>How to get "The Thief and the Cobbler" animu version.
>>153932714
Any anime that implements its themes efficiently.
>>153932714UchoutenKazoku
>>153932833
It would merely be the progenitor of new trends, regardless.
>>153932833
>not have archetypes
>not have tropes
You know this is actually impossible, right?
>>153935264
Molester man. Actually nah, I don't want to see the threads totally ruin it.
>>153936901
Thanks, you too.
Something like 08th MS Team but done in the style of Gundam Thunderbolt.
>>153932714
- Compelling character designs and personalities
- in no occasion at all does the plot move forward due to a character doing something extremely stupid; occasional exceptions may be allowed if the stupidity of said actions is lampshaded
- Romance and/or sexuality present and treated maturely (99% of anime fail at this), bonus points if there is a pseudo marry them all ending
- it MUST heavily feature deconstruction of a trope of some sort
- no overused clichés; occasional exceptions may be allowed if said clichés are lampshaded in universe
- impactful animation style (e.g. Shaft)
- No plot/setting vagueness for the sake of muh artistry (so no NGErino pls)
ITT:
american pirates spouting requests to the industry they're too busy killing.
>90s berserk with animation
>HnK with a higher budget
>>153937507
Fuck deconstruction
>>153933332
Eva made those cliches. Except for the last one.
>>153937507
I think you only added that last line because without it NGE is like the perfect fit for it.
good animation
author isn't a fucking hack and is able to look at life instead of basing everything on increasingly distorted industry memes
>>153932714
>Fantasy
>Action
>Fuck off physiological mind fucks n twists
>Anime potentially kills characters off in heroic/sad/mind fuck moments.
>(Anime does not abuse the aforementioned point)
>Romance
>No fucking ecchi or fan service
>>153932714
A perfect adaption of YKK.
>>153932802
If the characters were american badasses and not 8 year old lolis with guns, it'd be cool. I really like American ww2
>>153941287
Isn't it weird that some of us ask for something as simple as this but no one can deliver? PLEASE no more over the top fan service bullshit. I dropped high school of the dead because of this.
>>153934724
I like you.
>>153932714
Good animation? Good directing? Good sound design? I figure these qualities are the most relevant.
Keijobut with boys.[/spoilers]
There's no such thing as the perfect anime, but I like stuff that follows patterns like:
>1. Follows a cliche to a t., except it manages to pull it off so well that it doesn't matter that it's cliche
>2. Unique art and story that fit well together
>3. Retarded ecchi anime that knows that it's a retarded ecchi anime and ends up being fun to watch
>4. Breaks cliche without being edgelord-y, and for a good reason. (Not being uncliche for the sake of being uncliche)
>5. Meme machine
>6. "story" hardly makes any sense but the music and art/animation makes it fun
>>153932714
After watching each episode, I would never get bored, sad, and give me infinite amounts of wish I can use to do anything I want from immortality to superpowers to godlike powers and such.
Ofcourse only I could watch the anime and no one else, except when I want them to see it.
>>153943322
>implying America had anything to do with ww2 besides mopping up after everything was already done
>>153932714
>action
>has a motif which gives it a unique flair
>no fanservice
>nO FANSERVICE
>a plethora of culture surrounding it
It's surprising how this is a rarity.
>no moe shit or little girls
I basically want another bebop.
