I thought it was very good. Don Gately's narrative is one of the best things I've read in literature. Kate Compert's observations on depression where relevant to my life.

The only part I didn't like were the parts that took place in the 1960s between James Incandenza and his father.

There is an episode with that premise, but IJ came out 9 years before. I don't think there's a Japanese translation either.
It is a cool concept though.
