So why did the show hate the YuGiOh cardgame so much that it always made up stuff that was never how the cardgame was?

At Duelist Kingdom, the cardgame was still a MTG shout out, and its more of a RPG played with cards rather than a TCG. That's why you had all those weird mechanics like field bonus. It didn't translate well into the anime which was made to shill the TCG.

The other two are fillers, they wanted to make it interesting
