Will Jinbei fill the Vice captain role, officially?

ODA, WHERE'S MY NIGGA ZORO?
>writing text on your chest
Either you are writing it mirrored and upside down from your pov, or you are using a mirror in which case writing is a major pain in the ass. Either way that is far too neat. Furthermore there is absolutely no reason to not simply write it on the palm of your hand like it has been done for years by pretty much anyone who timestamps anything. All in all a bad fake.
That one is the fake anon. Stop being newfags.
That autist is sperging

How is it possible for an island to never experience night?
I know a midnight sun is possible, but it's only seen in really cold regions of the world close to the poles.
I actually speculate EL was built upon a crater that basically shot through the clouds and the ocean.
It would at least explain why there's a gigantic fucking hole under it.
So basically some sort of remnant of Void Century warfare most likely, but I wouldn't mind if it remained a mystery of the OP world.
Can we have booth Jinbei and Carrot, I feel like both would have something to add to the crew in terms of personalities. It would finally fill out the crew, too.
Wait, hen luffy said he wanted 10 did he include himself in that number?
I remember reading somewhere that Oda wanted the same number of crew as players on a soccer team, so that's 11 including himself.
As far as I'm concerned, Cedar and Jinbe are a lock. It's not like Carrot is a long shot, but I'm not so sure she's joining still.
I'm sure scientists did experiments, probably with convicts, to test it. Then Blackbeard happened, so maybe he saw something in the published works that they somehow missed, or his body is really weird somehow, or both
This guy, anon.
>roger had buggy the clown
>luffy will have caesar the clown
You can't use the '10' thing to prove there are more crewmates.
As it stands we have
Which puts us past 10. You can rationalize it back down to 10 pretty easily but it's a stretch to even get Jinbe in there.
Not to mention that since the time skip the new nakama have all been fleet members, not actual strawhats.
It's far more likely that Jinbe will join as part of the Fishmen pirates than part of the crew.
You having a giggle, m8?
>It's far more likely that Jinbe will join as part of the Fishmen pirates than part of the crew.
I really don't see how that makes sense considering Luffy asked him to join, Jinbe said he would join later, and we just got a scene where he confronted his crew and told them he was leaving so he could "board Luffy's ship."
>You can't use the '10' thing to prove there are more crewmates.
Honestly, you are 100% right about this though.
>On most ships, the First Mate is the officer who ranks just below the Captain of the ship and takes over in the event that the Captain can no longer perform his duties. Unfortunately this is not the case on a pirate ship. The first mate on a pirate ship is the man the pirate picks as his second in command. In the even the pirate is killed the job falls to the quartermaster. Ships also had second, third, even forth mates creating a chain of command.
Congrats bro, Usopp is maybe Quartermaster if you stretch it hard enough even though that position is literally nami personified
If he still is, he won't be for long
Sure thing anon
Those who are saying Cracker is stronger than Doffy, you're wrong.
Doflamingo’s statement wasn’t that Luffy couldn’t beat him, it’s that he couldn’t win within the designated time limit of 1 hour, which was then narrowed to 30 minutes when Doflamingo pointed out the stages of the Birdcage closing.
his argument wasn’t that Luffy couldn’t win, it’s that he couldn’t win in 30 minutes, but looking at the fight itself Luffy was clearly holding his own against Doflamingo, they exchanged several attacks. there’s no merit in stating that Luffy couldn’t win in a drawn out fight if he had several days.
same for Cracker. we saw Luffy use Elephant Gun and then Kong Gun against Cracker’s biscuit armour, but the difference between those attacks is huge, it’s unfair to judge the strength of all G3 based solely on one attack.
frankly if G4 can defeat a soldier with 2 attacks then an Elephant Gatling would no doubt be able to wear through them too.
and just like with Doflamingo, Luffy would be able to fight for longer without his G4, thus he’d have no trouble outlasting Cracker’s stamina, since we saw that Cracker was limited to about 11 hours.
It's not really about anything Doflamingo said, it has more to do with how he handled gear 4 vs how Cracker did.
One could harm Luffy while he was in it and the other couldn't.
>Doffy fights base Luffy evenly for 1 hour, gets pushed back by G4
>Cracker holds his own against G4 all day
I don't understand, you say Cracker isn't stronger but then you point out how much harder Luffy struggled with him
If you could forever BTFO one theory in exhange for the other becoming canon in the next ten chapters, which would you rather prevent;
>Monet is alive and on track to be nakama
That's Zoro's role. They would duel if it becomes an issue and Zoro would win.
Jinbe's just gonna be a temporary crewmate and act as Luffy's mentor before they hit really dangerous waters, then he's gonna go back to Alabasta and be queen.
Oh, wait, I mean Blackbeard is gonna kill him.
Oda dies, leaving behind enough notes to finish the story to a satisfying conclusion

Usopp is confirmed on panel as the first mate.
You should be upset at yourself for being unable to comprehend a definition.
It's saying that the first mate on a merchant ship is determined by hard rank, as in if you are the second highest ranked/most senior you're automatically the one who replaces the next guy above you in chain of command.
On a pirate ship the captain chooses who this is, which means it's not necessarily the first person to join, or the person who's achieved a high rank.
For example in this page:
>definition says that in merchant ships first mate is determined by rank and on pirate ships it's determined by the captain.
>it's the person who replaces the captain even before the quartermaster
>Luffy's on panel confirming Usopp as that person in the first scenes after Usopp acquired Luffy a ship that made it to the harshest ocean in the world.
It's not hard.
>Definition of death by snu-snu
I'm going to get flack for this but I would have to pick Kishimoto. He seems the first to actually emulate Oda's artstyle in and from what I can tell, both were close friends during Naruto's run. I would think he'd feel honored to finish Oda's works.
Oda's art is 100 times better now but the panels are less comprehensible in exchange
Well Nami likes it. So screw you
Not really , no. He had a whole arc (yonko) focusing mostly on him. It was mostly him suffering. Yes, and? It doesn't make him a bad character, being the center piece of a nice drama is awesome. And it will make his vendetta so enjoyable.
That's what I'm afraid of. The arc is very slow-paced and if Oda doesn't manage to delivers on the catharsis then it'll be a failure, because who would want to watch Sanji suffers for 20 chapter if the payoff is shit.
No, Narutard. It will be him saving his family by proving how far better he is than them. Which is pretty much the most enjoyable thing possible. He's never going to forgive them.
You see this guy? --> it's Bobbin =(
In the manga.. He got Sneak attack twice.. Poor Bobbin..
1 reply = 1 help for Bobbin..
If you don't reply.. he'll die and he'll not be in the wedding.
Thx for your reply everyone
The first time the Birdcage was used in the manga was on skypiea.
He didn't use the birdcage on Marineford because he was neutral, not really friendly with the WG, but their bitch, so he had to help where he could.
He was mostly shown commenting and being happy about the chaos, and only attacked Oarz and Jozu.
>you will never be reincarnated as a soul fragment from big mom's devil fruit powers and stumble upon the strawhat's thousand sunny to animated the ship so you can take part in their adventure but in a brief moment of sentience you weigh your options of what you'd like to animated you think being the sunny isnt what you want you accidentally trip by mini merry's spirit and latch onto nami and robins private toilet
why the unironical FUCK am i still living
>Fujitora Issho is based on Zatoichi, the blind samurai.
>Zatoichi is a fictional character that set during the late Edo period
>Issho wields a shikomizue (a Japanese swordstick)
>He also wears a light-purple yukata and geta sandals
I think he's somewhat connected to Wano country and will also appears later in Wano arc.
He might be a former samurai but he had enough of the whole Kaido-Shogun bullshit, ran away from Wano and then joined the Marines.
Heck, he might even be the one who executed Oden and then blinded himself in regraets.
What do you think?
And it's also possible that Edward Weeble will appear in Wano arc seeing that he's chasing after Marco.
It's possible he's tied to Wano, but then you'd think that Kin'emon and Kanjuro would've recognized him.
I don't know when KAido attacked Wano and killed the Shogun but it couldn't have been long ago since lord Oden's retainers fleed immediatly, took Momonosuke with them and set out for Zou until one was captured on Dressrosa and the other on Punk Hazard. And I doubt Fujirota could've risen to the rank of Admiral in such a short time frame. And if he did, then that'd implies he was already somewhat famous since the MArines trusted him immediatly, which makes it weirder that the samurais didn't recognize him.
the anime did this scene well. i choked up reading it, and when i saw it animated i cried
i also like the page where sanji sees luffy starving, because you realize in that moment that luffy loves sanji more than food, and i just kinda broke down. one piece is just so emotional to me, how do people watch this just for the fights?
Um, no sweetie... that L*N* autist throwing a tantrum got those deleted because he was spamming me
Because in recent years the manga itself has become more about the fights. At the start it was an adventure story with battle manga seasoning, nowadays it's more of a battle manga with sidequests. This transformation started when people in Japan were receiving Skypiea badly and Oda started putting more focus in the fights, and a while after that he straight up made a Bleach arc like EL.
whoever draws for fairy tail, jesus christ
skypiea was the perfect adventure arc, japan doesn't know what the fuck they're talking about. i just want every arc to be like enies lobby, i truly feel like one piece peaked there
was doing some googling with no results, what was this bullshit again? is there something planned or is this old?
The Korean guy who does the art for that garbage manga Freezing. Wasted talent imo.
Jinbe will never join the crew. He will die and on that day I will screencap all the salty Jinbefags' reactions. Their tears will be glorious.
just to put into perspective what these threads look like because mods refuse to ban 1 single person
never mind what i said, you DO belong here
>Oda foreshadowed like a million times Jinbe will join
>Jinbe explicitly stated he will join
>Even film Gold hinted it
>b-but he wil die!
Yeah, keep being delusional.
Just wait until the day he kicks the bucket. You Jinbefags will never see it coming. You've been on Oda's "Ruse Cruise" this whole time.
Maybe they're being ironic, but I don't know why people ship in One Piece. Romance has ever only been used as a point of comedy in One Piece and Oda has said he's not gonna write it because the target demo isn't interested in it, which is refreshing to see an author not shove it in if he's not particularly good at writing it
Big mom had no idea why he wanted to leave, hence why no one was keeping tabs on him when he freed Luffy.
"big mom, I wanna leave "
" k, wheel"
"oh um, never mind. . You too"
Then surprise rebellion.
>still unable to read simple English.
It says that being first mate by established rank within an organization, like a merchant company, was not how pirates did it. Instead the captain would directly choose his immediate successor, and possibly others beyond the first.
Luffy agreed it was Usopp on panel. It's Luffy's choice per the definition you gave me.
>On most ships, the First Mate is the officer who ranks just below the Captain of the ship and takes over in the event that the Captain can no longer perform his duties. Unfortunately this is not the case on a pirate ship. The first mate on a pirate ship is the man the pirate picks as his second in command. In the event the pirate is killed the job falls to the quartermaster. Ships also had second, third, even fourth mates creating a chain of command.
>In the event the pirate is killed the job falls to the quartermaster.
>being selective so your argument makes sense
Luffy agreed Usopp can take over if he is unable to perform his duties. On pirate ships this role is taken by the quartermaster. At best you can infer that Usopp is the quartermaster.
Usopp doesn't act like a quartermaster and I doubt Luffy even knows what a quartermaster is.
The only hierarchy in the crew is Luffy as the captain, everyone else is expert in their area of expertise and they're all treated equally by Luffy.
>i just want every arc to be like enies lobby, i truly feel like one piece peaked there
It's the exact opposite, EL marked the start of the dip in form. I dunno if I'd say OP peaked at W7, but W7's amazingness was really tainted by being mostly a set-up arc with something like EL as a climax.
Why is Oda wasting everyone's time with this Kaido bullshit? No one cares. Just get the Poneglyph out of the way so we can finally move to Raftel, where the actual important stuff will take place.
That's a different anon. We don't agree. in piracy the captain chooses his first mate and he can choose anybody he wants, and in this manga Luffy chose Usopp.
>he first mate on a pirate ship is the man the pirate picks as his second in command.
>in the event the pirate is killed the job falls to the quartermaster
This is saying if the first mate dies, the quarter master is next in line after him. That's why it then references third and fourth. Learn to read.
really? you want usopp to be vice captain?
okay, luffy dies and usopp takes over. now what, you have a fucking pussy for a captain, every disbands, nami and robin join zoro's personal harem. is that what you wanted? at least zoro would retain SOME of the strawhats dignity, usopp would simply tarnish the brand
>All this autism over interpretations of what that page really means
How about we acknowledge the fact that luffy hasn't actually deemed anyone as First mate/Vice Commander and leave this shit to be (potentially) solved later in the series just like shipping
I wish that was all me honey
Nami would join Sanji, sweetie.
Even Zoro knows that. Pic related
Does this panel seem a little strange to anyone else?
Tell that to the Usoppfag.
The manga is pretty clear to be honest. The SHs aren't actually pirates, they're only pirates in the setting of One Piece where pretty much any explorer or adventure is deemed "pirate". They don't follow any pirate quirks other than having a skull flag, which is visual flavor by Oda. Luffy is a messianic figure who goes around saving people and countries. There is no "first mate" or "quartermaster" or any hierarchical roles in the crew at all, aside from everyone follows Luffy not because he's "the captain", but because he's special.
Getting the best fights tonight in Enies Lobby
Bring snacks. Yup, that's it.
So 2017 s the 20th anniversary, when are we going to get all the tribute art? We got a book 10 years ago back when One Piece was in a popularity slump, and now it's twice as big as it was back then, so I'm expecting a bigger and better celebration.
No, you didn't. Carrot will be cast away like Vivi was. You waifufags need to be killed off already.
Lel, the Strawhats don't even give a shit about Caesar. The sooner you accept Carrot as a crewmate, the better.
Each Strawhat has their own associated color(s). Luffy has red, Zoro has green, Sanji has dark blue, etc. Carrot's possible associated colors are orange, green, and white. Those colors are taken by Nami, Zoro, and Brook respectively. Meanwhile, Caesar's associated color (purple) is free. We already have one talking animal on the crew, we don't need another.
Taken by Franky and Nami
All colors for reference:
Monkey D. Luffy: Red
Roronoa Zoro: Green
Tony Tony Chopper: Pink
Nico Robin: Purple
Franky: Light Blue
Brook: Black and White
From SBS vol 40 & 50
I get that you're pointing out that Zoro is green and Fuji is purple and they fought, but you gotta admit Kizaru is a lazy sniper who has it easy because he's op as fuck and Usopp is a sniper who uses a sling shot.
OK! I figured it out.
Jinbei wouldn't fit in with the crew so it's unlikely he will join.
However what he if was to join an a captain of a second ship, the beginning of the Straw Hat fleet.
>ominous speech about ancient homes
>we now know that their original home is the moon
>half-moon seen in the page
Oda the madman. He had already decided what it all meant back here
I don't think it is possible for me to get excited about a fight in a comic. It just doesn't move, man. I can appreciate artistry but I've never found action scenes that would get me pumped, purely for the action, in static art.
My theory is that the SH Monster Trio is going to become the Monster Quartet after Jinbei joins.
So Luffy, Zoro are the upper tier and Sanji and Jinbei are the lower tier. The fight against the admiral is going to be in two parts since Sanji and Jinbei are not strong enough to fight admirals. The first is going to be based on the animal motif and the second based on colour.
So in the first round, before Luffy becomes Pirate King, Luffy (Monkey) is going to fight Kizaru (Also, monkey) and Zoro (Tiger) is going to fight Fujitora (Also, Tiger). In the second round, it's going to be based on colour. So Luffy (Red) fights Akainu (Also, Red) and Zoro (Green) fights Ryokugyu (Also, Green)
Not at all. I'm just saying that Luffy and Zoro are much stronger now. Luffy and Zoro trained with legends for two years. Zoro defeated an executive wit extreme ease while Sanji struggled against Vergo. This shows the difference in their powers. Ever since Pre TS it's been this way. Luffy uses all his power and barely defeats a villain while Zoro (if he goes all out) defeats a weaker villain in one shot. This kinda tells us that Luffy and Zoro were quite close in strength Pre TS and Oda is following the same pattern Post TS too. Luffy struggles against Doffy and Zoro destroys Pica with ease. So Luffy and Zoro are close in strength and can therefore fight admirals. Sanji on the other hand showed us what he's capable of against Vergo and is therefore weaker than Luffy and Zoro and can't match an Admiral.
Gonna go out on a limb and say that Vergo was probably way stronger than any of the Dressrosa baddies. Mind, Sanji didn't get into a full fight with him anyway so the only thing we can gauge from that exchange was that Vergo is tough.
Luffy wants to be the Pirate King i.e. the strongest pirate. Zoro wants to be the strongest swordsman. They both aim to be at the top. Sanji wants to find All Blue. He can be the best chef but he ain't gonna be as good as Luffy and Zoro in terms of strength because his dream doesn't demand it while their dreams do.
>best chef can still dunk everybody except the top 1%
seems good enough for me.
What bothers me though is he would have made a great scientist. The way he wizards about with food, he's definitely got his dad's brainpower.
Definitely an Oni zoan or of some Oars' relation.
He -is- an Oni. doesn't need to have a fruit for it.
Also, considering Wanted, it would be fitting for the boss at Ryuuma's country to be a dragon. Although I doubt he will get cut down by Zoro or whoever in the end.
>tfw this page
Was Oda taking the piss with Dressrosa?
>Overwhelming brute force
>Is followed by and gives orders to Kuma
Unless I'm confusing the legends, didn't Oda already use that story for Sentomaru? He even named the original admirals after them
Most based character in One Piece coming through
Usopp is acceptable for his character trope (idk what the name for retard with a cuntish personality who somehow gets lucky is called) but if he takes down Kizaru I will be pissed
I didn't say he has no fruit. I'm 90% convinced he has a dragon fruit, although I'm not sure what kind of dragon it will be. You could get that from my post if you actually read all of it instead of just the first sentence.
We shall reunite with him on Raftel.
>Crew: "if only Zoro was here to enjoy the One Piece"
>Zoro from under a rubble of gold: "Zzz- huh? Finally came, huh? Did you get lost?"
I wonder how /a/ would react to this if it happened today
I think Zoro will fight the Shogun in Wano. The shogun will have a Kitsune Legendary Zoan i.e. The nine tailed fox. This will be a perfect match for Zoro's Kyutoryu and Zoro will be pushed to his limits for the first time post TS
>Year of our lord 201752
Still no good Zolo post timeskip fight.
So a few months ago I read all the way up until the time skip, but after that I stopped reading. The reason is because there were so many characters and I couldn't keep track of all of them. Does this continue to happen or is it just that ark where it goes crazy?
It's always like that but Marineford was still an exception.
There was more characters introduced in Marineford than Dressrosa. And Marineford has 3 times less chapters. Most of them weren't important anyway on Marineford.
I don't see why it is an issue. You aren't supposed to remember them all. It's clear who's important and who's not. And you can't have a full lenght war arc with a cast of 15 people.
romance as in a man's romance. stop with the shipping shit you bitchniggas
>people actually think zoro can navigate his way to wano
Not bound by blood, but still his brother. I doubt so, he seems to be an alpha and ambitious guy, he might even take over the discussion when it comes to the revolutionaries and aim to destroy them
That's assuming the other king would see him as a "Alpha". I think most of them are arrogant dickhead, they would probably tell him to calm down and eat a dick, after all, they, at least, are not the country of Dragon and Luffy.
>Mihawk is yonko-tier
Really? I know he used to duel with Shanks, but he lost his arm before Luffy even became a pirate.
Reminder that Smoker will leapfrog to Admiral tier with improvements Vegapunk gives him.
ODA, JUST GIVE MY NIGGA ZORO AN EYEPATCH
Did robin give herself to zoro after Dressrosa?
fanboys and powerlevel wankers. Don't mind them
the devil fruits are the spirits, the remaining of the ill, of the people killed by those who build the WG, and this is why they can be bypassed by haki. They were all drowned in the ocean which is why devil fruits lose their power when submerged in water.
Their descendants are known only as D, for devil,
>Jinbe will be nakama by the end of this year.
Do you think the will of D. rules many nations? Or is it mostly a pirate thing?
