Is there anything to suggest that Pythie was necessary to the plan? I don't quite know what the timeline of events is between Limited/"the B-City incident", Professor Tanaka/Bluebell Candy/Lapis 3 creating and training the MMMGs and the fights within Jokers but nonetheless, I get the impression that by the time of Limited, GH's plan was already known. Basically, as far as I can see, the only role Pythie plays is that she provides Stuntchica, she is most likely the one that spread the magical phone messages about the factory and she acted as a middlewoman between Pfle and Lapis 1/Professor Tanaka. It seems to me then that both Pfle and Lapis 1 were already aware of the plot. The issue is with the reveal of direct connections. The way I see it, if Pythie were to die, Pfle could've still done all of those things herself. It's just that she wouldn't be able to provide Stuntchica and so everyone would've most likely died.

So a friend and i got interested in this series after watching the anime (we're precure fags looking for something new, we thought madoka was underwhelming so we tried the next best edgy MG anime) and we have read all the main novels sans for the episodes, which we started just a few hours ago.

There's a sidestory in episodes where cherna mouse asks pechika's brother to help her find food for her family since it's christmas night, they go looking for food in dumpsters but don't find anything, this makes cherna cry and pechika's brother seems distressed until he goes home and best restart girl gives him a huge lobster she made with her powers, he gives cherna the lobster and then they part ways not before cherna promises to fuck him silly and have a lot of children together once he gets older (a fine reward i guess) and the next page shows miyokata detransforming and finding a huge cooked lobster next to her hamster's cage, who she calls "tama".

Here is my question, is tama cherna mouse and is miyokata, her owner, who she considers her "family"? Because it seemed pretty obvious that that was the case (plus i think it's cool that even your pets can turn into MGs, i'd kill for my doggo to do that), but my dumbass of a friend states that the hamster isn't cherna, cherna only gave the lobster to tama because she considers her her "family", given how she also considered the rats the old lady shooed away from her baking store as her "relatives", he also says that if tama was indeed cherna both girls would get into serious shit given how you can't reveal your human identity to anyone or you lose your powers, and miyokata unknowingly did just that, but suffered no ill effects.

This series is not for light-hearted fans so if that's what you're looking for in this series, you've come to the wrong place. To start with the anime of MGRP (1st arc) is basically Battle Royale meets Danganronpa and Madoka. Its a killing game.

Basically every character gets a unique power and there's always some conflict that causes 4/5ths of the cast to die. New arcs bring a new cast and a different plot, usually with about a year timeskipped. Some of the survivors make recurring appearances, and in a broader sense the series is about Snow White and the concept of an ideal magical girl. Snow White is basically your typical purehearted protagonist whose life is always getting worse while she does her best to cope and not compromise her morals. Other characters have less personal goals and want to reform the entirety of magical girl society that they see as corrupt and mismanaged. The series itself is very dark, but I wouldn't call it edgy. Drama feels surprisingly realistic at times and while no one is protected by plot armor, the violence rarely feels senseless. The first arc is definitely the weakest, but the anime isn't a bad place to start and covers it all.
