It's all about the balance. With light novels, when you are ten volumes behind the Japanese release, it is a benefit to be able to catch up as soon as possible. JNC's translation quality is perfectly fine based on what I've pirated so far, the reason they're so much faster than Yen Press is because they don't have to deal with the overhead of physical publishing, printing, and distribution. Also, their subscribers reading the pre-published chapters are effectively a crowdsourced proofreader for the final published version, in addition with the actual professional editing pass.

I started out liking Char, but now I don't think she's all that. Her introduction was neat, she was supposed to hide her identity as a woman (despite looking very feminine and HanaKana not putting any effort into making her sound male) and the fact that Ichika figured her out but they still had to share bedrooms, changing rooms etc. created some tension.
