It's pretty good. Light Novel written by the Boogiepop guy. Goes into Fugo's backstory and expands on him as a character, his doubts, his involvement with the gang, plus some actual fights with him. I enjoyed it quite a bit to give him the closure that Fugo needed.

Is it just his backstory? I was hoping to find out what became of him after he chose not to betray Passione.

No, it goes into his backstory, his thoughts about the Part 5 events & what happens to him after Part 5 along with old characters from Part 5.

I enjoyed it alot last time I read it.
I liked all of Fugo & the new characters.
Some people didn't like it on account on how it changed characterizations of old characters like details about Bruno's gang & how groups of Passione operated. I don't remember the changes being that drastic (save for maybe one detail about how Abbachio & Fugo operated behind Bruno's back) but it has been a while since I've read it. I'm going to give it another read over after Part 5's new translations are fully out.
