The battle of the fanboys
Why does this series have the best fucking autistic cast in all WSJ?
He's not gonna laugh.
I think Deku's gonna try to recreate All Might actions in a way that only a true fanboy could knew and at the last moment -in the most unpredictable way- he's gonna get the stamp somehow.
If Deku gets the stamp via tactician + shoot style and earn the internship -without making Sir's laugh even once- and goes through the "tough love" shitty treatment I think he could turn over his detractors. He reminds me a lot of Simon which transformation was instrumental for the plot and the final resolution.
BUT if Deku fails and didn't even made Sir laugh I really hope that he goes elsewhere as an intern. Problem is his options. What would be the better choice for him?
>Based Number 1 Endy
>EDGEshot (origami ninja)
He gotta join the best hero office with the best leader
Would he really recreate All Might's actions? Would it matter when the guy can see into the future? I imagine the best way to win besides just getting lucky is to make it so the guy can see Deku coming but still be powerless to stop it
Here, I'll put the two together. Look at what Deku is saying, and what Ochako is remembering. They're both geeking out. The Ochako panel wasn't far back in the manga either - it was at the beginning of the Mirio fight.
>Move so fast that he can't even react fast enough to obtain the seal.
The real question is what kind of foresight Sir has. I don't think its absolute foresight, otherwise Hori would have to go through a cliched "His will is so strong it alters the future," type of schtick, and he isn't that kind of author.
This. He's already nearly mastered his phase powers which is stupidly strong right now. He's also buff enough that mastering OfA might not be as hard for him as it is for deku. He would be a fucking force of nature
A third option is that Deku goes full madman, still fails to get the stamp, but shows Sir his resolve worth nurturing. Sir is looking at Deku as a replacement All Might, where a successor should be a perfect clone of him, and under this Mirio fits the bill perfectly.
I have a bigger feeling Aizawa will definitely get captured or imprisoned, whether he is killed I don't know, but it's very easy to bestow an impact on the class to have their original sensei be taken out of comission and put up some drama with the replacement.
The way his quirk is written kind of makes it look like he can see all possible actions that person could do in an hour. So I dunno how you get around that. Maybe do what wasn't possible when his quirk activated?
This was my thought. That sir tested Deku, knowing that he would already succeed. I get the feeling he's just trying to rustle Deku's jimmies about OFA. If OFA went to Togata, it would just be All Might 2.0, and sir is apparently upset at the way All Might turned out.
Fairly obvious - Deku is to Ochako what All Might was to Deku.
Deku wrecks the whole office, bowls Tintin and Bubble Girl on to their asses, and lands suddenly in front of Nighteye. Deku looks up at him with an intense expression and asks for the stamp. Nighteye laughs.
So this chapter really pointed out the similarities between Deku and Shiggy's struggle. Both have pretty basic goals that they are just getting questioned and forced to refine their position. There is someone who seems like a better candidate for their position.
Dude. Dude you just blew my mind. That might be exactly what's going on- oh sweet jesus. I don't think these threads could handle the fallout.
Reread this chapter and you see the similarities between Shiggy and Deku. And something more too, I think. Well of course the interview chapter will be important.
I kinda want to write an essay on those two interview chapters with Shiggy because I think it's Hori channeling the spirit of fucking Dostoevsky. From Shigaraki just not "getting" Stain, to the conclusion both Deku and Shiggy come to at the end, to the one other element of those chapters that seems totally jarring but actually isn't...
Gonna be a fun time.
The TLDR of it all is that it's about legacy. Legacy and tunnel vision and Shiggy not understanding how the world works. It's also about Deku - both in that he is in one way aware of legacy, but tragically unaware of his own legacy. It's the chapter you'll come back to and say "Oh, that's what that meant."
while Deku is busy Todo and Baku are preparing for their special training
>I wonder how long it will be and if it is an overnight stay
>I think they say it's their first weekend and they do look like they'll be gone for at least two days judging by the luggage
Do you think All might ever used his popularity to pick up chicks, or was he too busy thinking of JUSTICE?
he better not be doing that
there's no way he's doing that
it includes Baku and Todo, he can't just skip some plot which could develop the characters which aren't Deku any further
It may not be his intention, but statistically it's been shown that arcs excluding main character are significantly less popular, and since popularity and money is all Shueisha cares for, Hori's editor will certainly have second thoughts about letting him do this. On the other hand, latest polls had Bakugou as more popular character than Deku, so there may be hope.
Is All Might a virgin? Is this a given for the Pro Hero community in general? The only ones who raised a family besides Endy's shitty quirk marriage were Nana Shimura and Mandalay's sister but look at how that went.
Come on kid. Try a little harder
I think it happens quite often with some characters that had recent strong presence in the story. Sasuke's taken over Naruto a number of times if I'm correct, and in One piece latest poll Law technically took the first place and they had to cheat to get Luffy to keep it. Also WSJ voters are extremely fickle and only judge by the latest arc, so after Bakugou's performance against league of villains his popularity shot up, but I bet he'll be down once again after current Deku-focused arc.
truly the best
it's not gonna happen anon. hori loves todo and blasty and best autist is being featured
Inasa transfer to UA when?
>no Grapesbros around for meaningful discussion
>just delusion talk and pic dumping
Shit chapter confirmed
Post Mineta graping Momo & crispybacon walking in on it and hanging himself at the sight of ahoge
First off, Deku totally wants to fuck All Might
Secondly, literally every time a character accuses Ochako of having a crush on Deku it will cut to her inner monologue saying "It's not like that."
Basically, if Ochako had a benis the hero worship would come out more clearly, but you fell for an admittedly quite clever shipping misdirect.
Being fair if he would've been in U.A. from the beginning it could've been for the best
>Inasa in Class B.
his design and overall vibe is so fucking good that he earns more screentime and relevancy
>Sport Festival arc
is a toe to toe competition rather than a mere Class A suck off. We get a glimpse of Inasa's backstory and his Todo hate. In the finals he wins the Tournament over Bakugo the same way Blasty won over Todoroki in the original
>School Trip arc
both Inasa and Bakugo get kidnapped but the kids weren't able to save any of them.
>Hideout Raid arc
monoma and kendou joins the frayy. more shenanigans and best boy + best girl.
as an opposite for the kirishima/bakugou situation Inasa /triggered/ by seeing todoroki reaching out for him goes full power just for a frontal clash
>Hero License arc
Class A and B meets again but this time they join forces against a common foe in Shiketsu -Birb takes windy place at Shiketsu. inasa and todo couldn't come to terms with each other and both of them fail.
>Remedial class arc
bakugo, inasa, todoroki and monoma
Man, him going to UA would have been a blast. I hope Hori somehow makes up for it and gives us some cool arcs with Inasa/Shinketsu in general
Endeavor please, don't bully the Inasa
Deku and Shiggy have been paralleling each other literally since the moment they were introduced.
This is why Deku has to be related to All For One. Symmetry!
GOD YOU'RE MISSING THE ENTIRE FUCKING POINT OF OFA
ONLY AFO IS MEME ENOUGH TO ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT BLOOD RELATIONS
THE WHOLE GIMMICK OF OFA IS THAT IT'S PASSED DOWN TO THOSE WORTHY. UNIRONICALLY IT'S A MEME. THE ENTIRE SERIES IS ABOUT MEMES. LIKE THE FUCKING DAWKINS DEFINITION OF "MEME."
NOTE HOW IIDA INHERITS HIS BROTHER'S NAME NOT OUT OF GENETIC RELATION, BUT BECAUSE OF ADMIRATION FOR HIS BROTHER'S IDEALS
NOTE HOW TODOROKI'S ENTIRE CHARACTER ARC IS LEARNING NOT TO FUCKING CARE ABOUT ENDEAVOR'S GENES
YOU MAKE DEKU BLOOD RELATED TO DARTH AFO YOU FUCK UP THE THEMES
Re-read your post. Shigaraki is related to OfA, but chose to inherit All for One's meme. Deku is related to AfO, but chose to inherit One for All's meme. That's it. That's the parallel.
No, please. NO.
Not another shonen MC who turns out to be the son/grandson/descendant/reincarnation of some top dog. Enough with that shit
I really did not want this to be true, because I thought the same early in this manga to. If Deku turns out to be another Shonen Jesus. I think I might punch myself in the face.
Yeah, that's a serious problem, especially since Hori isn't a fan of quick character development. But that's a problem of so many shonens. Besides the only alternative is to have a dead meaningless world around main characters.
Have to realize mangaka that work for publishing companies like Shonen Jump are always hounded on by their editors. Either are "suggested" to go in a direction at their own "discretion". Even if that is the case, it puts pressure, and influence on them. So it takes the blame off the publishers, and puts it solely on the mangaka.
Don't they have writers that can sort this out? Introducing new characters is just gonna tire the readers. I think the manga was going in the right direction until after All Might's battle. If he didn't know where to go he could just develop the secondary characters or even the B class ones.
>Don't they have writers that can sort this out?
That is not the usual custom though for a lot of them. Most mangaka draw, and write their own stories. A duo team with a writer, and artist I guess poses a problem contract wise for long term serial manga for publishers that want to keep a consistent weekly release. There is always the risk of the team breaking up.
That has happened before. One with me was with the Tenchi Muyo franchise. Can really splinter the fanbase, and corrode its appeal over time. We know there are often in house assistants, and editors that help get the final product ready for publishing. They have no real baring on the input on whats going on in the stories plot, and the characters that take place in it.
Background characters don't get development because they're supposed to stay in the background.
This isn't the story of class 1-A, it's Midoriya's story. Characters come and go as they pop in and out of his life.
>This isn't the story of class 1-A, it's Midoriya's story. Characters come and go as they pop in and out of his life.
Why don't people get this? Seriously.
Bleach's problem was that Kubo focused more on his side cast (essentially what you retards want) than his main cast hence why a character like Mayuri did more than the fucking MC all because Kubo liked to draw him. A shounen introducing new characters every arc isn't a thing that Kubo invented in fact One Piece has introduced more new characters in a single chapter than MHA has in the last few arcs but you don't see anyone batting an eye.
Bleach's problem was that there was zero narrative focus, so Kubo just drew the things he wanted to draw all the time. And he got bored of characters quickly.
Narrative focus is the key.
I like One Piece, but lets be real. It has had its share of unfocused borderline-filler arcs.
>Bleach's problem was that there was zero narrative focus
>Bleach's problem was that Kubo focused more on his side cast
These, Ichigo is one of the shittiest shonen protags in history. He didn't do dick in the final arc, hell, he barely did anything against Aizen.
Speaking of parallels, isn't it interesting how both Sir and All Might have selected protege's that are reminiscent of each other?
Sir selects Mirio who is a beefcake like AM.
All Might selects Deku who is analytical like Sir.
Nah, his phase powers are probably not gonna fly that far in real combat. They're too predictable, too easy to find a counter to. His ground drop is going to stop working basically the moment some savvy villain figures out how it works, because of how limited its versatility is with the loss of vision. If the enemy moves, he's unable to adapt to it while blind and underground. As for letting attacks go through him, it only works if he knows they're coming, if he doesn't he's just a regular human being surprise attacked.
The only real counter to those weaknesses that I can think of is if remote teleportation works on him while he's phased out, because then an assisting hero could relocate him and make his pop-up less predictable.
>The only real counter to those weaknesses that I can think of is if remote teleportation works on him while he's phased out, because then an assisting hero could relocate him and make his pop-up less predictable.
Or some sort of vision-obscuring power, I suppose. Just a smokescreen or flashbang could probably help a lot, since he'd be able to choose a direction and go underground when his enemies can't see him.
They would mix, given that OfA originally was 'quirk to store power' mixed with 'quirk to pass on quirks', which from the outside is indistinguishable from passing on both quirks at the same time.
Is Monoma the luckiest boy?
Living the M dream
It was fucked up from the start. The author should've been realistic and actually created a villain organization instead of having 8-12 band of fucks circlejerking in a clubhouse trying to find ways to fuck with Midoriya instead of worrying about the tons of Pro Heroes trying to search for them.
Would really love to see more Toga art this one uis really cute.
I wonder how much they're going to cover this time. They showed Slain at the end of first season, but sports festival takes up a lot of chapters, if they're going for 12 episodes again, I'm not sure they can fit both arcs.
Kurogiri meets Stain to take him to Shigaraki before Todoroki and Bakugou even fight.
So they'd have to completely omit that whole interaction AND Stain crippling Iida's brother to stop from further blue balling the watchers if they didn't adapt Stain arc. Given the fact that Stain has already been teased and that the director is very faithful to the source, it goes not make any sense to:
>Tease Stain at the end of S1
>Faithfully keep all the scenes with Stain before Todoroki vs. Bakugou
>Don't adapt Stain arc
If S2 is 2-cour with 24 episodes and they end the season at chapter 69, it'll be 2 chapters per episode. Not rushed, Stain gets adapted and then some, S3 can comfortably be adapted all the way to the end of Hideout Raid.
I'm hoping for too much.
Hopefully we're gonna get a 2 cpur season which would adapt those two arcs (Sport Festival and Stein). After all BnHA's new timeslot use to be reserved for long-lenght series.
IMO they should end that season with this page. Foreshadowing AfO vs OfA which is the highest point of the manga so far
Now that I think about it. Do you think it would've been a good idea if BnHA's season 1 was two cour instead of 1?
I mean the first half of the Sport Festival arc was a really refreshing
take of one of the most common tropes school manga has to offer.
And even though the second half was a little underwhelming in comparison with other shonen Tournament arcs it really doesnt matter because it featured Deku the absolute madman at its best.
I think what we ended up with might be better off in the long run despite what most people originally wanted. The Sports Festival arc and Field Training arc some of the best arcs so far and it's going to get more exposure with the different timeslot.
>it's an op quirk
>beats final villain with it
>OFA is stripped from him
>all looks bleak
>just believe deku
>his quirk is a worldwide pulse that literally removes all quirks that ever existed
>Everyone is normal
>Final fight is just a weak ass fist fight
I think we might see the previous owners of all might channeled through him.
but, isn't this why we got Shiggy?
to have someone actually call out Shiggy and his dumb ideas?
because, right now, this is what Shiggy is, a temper-tantrum throwing manchild who has no plan and real strategy and little to no organization
I think is gonna be the opposite. Instead of channeling more OfA % now he'll be able to keep-up his tacticall thinking with the improved mobility of the full cowl. I hope for new kick techniques tho. Maybe some breakdance/capoeira a-la Mugen from Champloo
Still butthurt over Dancing Midgets getting canned I see
>making fun of HeroAca saying it could be a 15 page manga and nothing would change because the pacing is shit
I'd love to see what they consider good pacing then because this is the same thread that sucks Togashi's dick 24/7
Okay anons. Time to settle this for real.
Was class B a mistake? Wasnt the 20 people from Class A more than just enough? Even frigging nardo had a smaller cast at its early stage with those 4 teams from konoha
No. Its fine to have tertiary characters. Hori just needs to show they are there to give you the scale of the school and introduce rivalry to 1A. They don't need to be any more fleshed out than that.
If there was no class B, we'd have people complaining about how small the school appears, no upperclassmen, etc.
Class A has enough tertiary characters already anon.
>Tentacle (Toyokami's tinfoil)
>Sero (Blasty McSplodr brigade jobber)
And people always complain. Even if this was a 10/10 manga there will br shitposters nitpicking
This. And come on previous anon. Class B was a "rival" just up until the sport festival. Now they are fucking jobbers. And besides the waifubait and based monoma even their designs are ugly
Supporting characters don't necessarily need to go through development or be in the spotlight. I'd make a case for Ochako, Tsuyu and others close to Deku but as a reader, I don't feel like I need to know the personal history or aspirations of Sugarman or Kouda or even Ashido. Even if they're never elaborated on they still bring a sense of scale or depth to the world.
Boku no Hero Academia is not a manga you adapt to anime so sparingly. First cour is just an introduction and didn't cover much, didn't really give a good taste of Deku being absolute madman. Then they teased Stain after credits and there is a serious doubt they'd be able to pull both Sports Festival and Stain arcs in 12 episodes. 24-26 sounds reasonable though but we don't know if that's the case and I doubt it will be, and the question remains still, why won't they just mass produce this shit like Fullmetal Alchemist? They have enough material for 40-50 episodes without filler as it is and it just keep piling up.
Have All Might's fight against One for All as season's final, wait a year for material to pile up more and recuperate and mass produce this shit again.
At this point we'll get to All Might vs One For All only by 2020.
Kek. They dont bring depth at all if they're useless. Thats just an illusion. The same that happens when you buy Chips from the convenience store and its content is less than half of the bag. The rest is air. Class B and tertiary characters in Class A are the same in here. Theyre not necessary.
Now if the class was smaller then it would be another case
Bullshit. We have other characters that aren't developed but still fulfill their role in the universe. E.g; Jeanist, Orca, that reporter woman. They play their bit then fade into the background of the story. The same is true for class B.
You're saying you want a character to be either fleshed out or to not exist with no step in-between.
No way, characters in fiction should only exist if they are given an amount of focus in the story equal to every other character of significance. Otherwise they should just be faceless mobs, so that my tiny baby brain can understand that they aren't important.
What is your issue with class A and B then? I think you made a misapprehension when you assumed that they were all supposed to be important. This isn't an ensemble cast, the story is about Deku. Its only logical that characters closer to him receive more development.
Primary: Deku, All Might, Bakugou, Todoroki
Secondary we're supposed to pretend is primary: Ochako
Secondary: Shiggy, Todo, Iida, Momo, Tsuyu, Mineta, Kirishima, Aizawa, Tokoyami
Tertiary: The rest of the class A, Monoma, HANDS
Quarterly: Class B
Most of them arent memorable at all. And most of the time is for their role as tertiary rather than their potential. Think a little bit about some characters and you'll end up realising that most of them would've been 10 times better as antagonists from other schools or even having their adult version either as a Hero or a Villain. For instance Toyokami would've worked better in any other situation but he's stuck in a limbo
I stopped following the plot sometime during the sport festival and only skim the chapters and lurk the threads a few times a month to check for new fapbait and collect fanart of them.
I'm a bibrfag. I really like his design, personality, his quirk and even the fact that he's a closet chuuni. But as some anon said before the only characters that get some development are the ones who are consistently around Deku. And Bird is not one of them so there's that...
Ending with the AfO explanation would be the best place to stop.
But there's a bit of a problem after that point: what would S3 be?
We currently have
Hopefully, they can get through the first two with Season 2.
But if they do, then Season 3 is gonna be in a tough spot: it'd need to adapts THREE arcs.
There's no way in hell they're going to adapt the Camp arc without adapting the Bakugou arc that's directly tied to it and finishing up with AfO vs. All Might.
Basically, the fucking Exam arc is a huge sore thumb that's going to make the anime adaption end points kinda troublesome regardless of where they end.
I think you're overestimating the length of exam arc, it can easily be stuffed into 2-3 episodes. Basically there's one serious section about Yaomomo and one section about Deku-Baku, the rest is a bunch of small segments few minutes each. The problem is that with first season they dragged out events pretty seriously, stopping shy of the abysmal One piece anime pacing. If they stick to this rate, sports festival will definitely take them all twelve episodes, if not more.
Honestly, you are kind of acting under the impression that knowing means you get to be able to prevent it.
If I know a bullet is coming for me, but it's too late to move out of the way, I at best would be to move a bit before it hits me regardless. If I know that at some point I am going to get shot, unless I go to a place where there is no chance of that happening there is little I can do except be ready and hope I can react properlly, since every action I take would affect what would happen (I mean, it's not like you can just walk to the left instead of right and hope the assassin shots at the please I was meant to be at).
Would you be able to stop a wave because it's going to hit shore?
Not likely. (Although, I would assume, possible with the right amount of time and equipment)
Most character in this manga learn how to use their quirk so that they become useful, but the more specific the power, the more limitations it seems to have.
The manga can easily go the "I never expected this is route he was going to take" in the sense of among all the posibilites, or simply he knew he was going to lose the stamp given the right effort on Deku's part, but he still said all that to pump him up.
God, I wrote so much over something so stupid. I hate myself at times.
Season 1: 21 ch = 13 episodes
Sport festival (23ch) + Stain (15ch) = 38 ch = 26 episodes?
End of term (10) + Field trip (14) + Rescue (14) = 38 chapters = 26 episodes?
>HORI SHOULD SLOW DOWN THE PACE IT'S TO FAST
>threads now fucking complain that the pacing is two slow
you faggots caused this for yourselves
The plot is still progressing steadily, I think what Hori needs to do is to have those parallel plots with Shigaraki's development more frequently - makes more juicy reading each week.
If I have to complain, I want Hori to showcase more of Deku's philanthropic side like he did with the trash removal chapter. I like the fact that Deku is now taking more pride in his role as a successor - and I want to see him exemplify the qualities that prompted All Might to choose him
People don't know what they want. Complaining is their nature.
Literally one anon
This. And since we're on topic. Which do you think should fall down first? The superhuman society or U.A. high? It's kind of EDGY but Hori has been hinting this for such a long time that it's making me feel a little too anxious.
Although it's more likely that U.A. is gonna be the final bastion for justice so we might have in the future some exodus from Shiketsu.
Personally I want UA to fall first, followed by superhuman society.
UA being under an attack that would destroy it would be enough to shatter the idealistic belief people tend to have in heroes, even with all might dead, most normal citizens still feel safe knowing that all the other heroes will protect them. If yuuei falls, then everyone will be instantly aware, ok, things are not working out anymore and we are in immediate danger. This will also serve to destroy the tightly knit classes that we've seen so far, class a and b and also lead the the most definite closing of other hero schools like shiketsu.
In such a scenario you can definitely take it to a harry-potter-esque arc where the students all get together and try to teach themselves because the teachers cant/are unwilling to anymore.
Now the best part would be when the villains would strike the killing blow and tear down the rest of superhuman society, gaining control of the rest of the country. Then the kids would have to fend for themselves and who knows what kind of guerrilla-esque scenarios you can come up with with a cast so big.
>or simply he knew he was going to lose the stamp given the right effort on Deku's part, but he still said all that to pump him up.
I think this is accurate. I reckon Sir's got the same problem as Dr Manhattan, in that he can't be surprised by anything and grows apathetic as a result. He's likely just testing Deku with his OFA talk.
If this happens = not more high school shenanigans and i like that comfy bit of BnHA. Wouldn't be better if Shiketsu fall first? That way we will have best autistic, best shota, best furry and the real camie in U.A. for a bit.
Moreover do you remember that at some point in the License arc the examinators were arguing about the methods of selection and then the sleepy guy said that since there won't be a New All Might this generation of heroes should be forming Superheroes Teams instead of going solo
It would be great to see those teams formed with guys from Class A, B and Shiketsu
Yeah it would be ok if shiketsu fell first as long as you want to keep comfy highschool shenanigans.
Thing is, its a matter of preference, you cant have shenanigans AND super serious holy shit villains are actually ruling the city type arcs. Because as long as UA stands there will always be some safety in the heroes that run the academy. If you take out the academy, boom, instant tension, no one in society is safe, everyone is vulnerable and the kids must figure out themselves how to survive the villain ruled country.
Here's the next five chapters
>Deku can't beat Sir but Sir reluctantly agrees to intern him because reasons
>convoluted test ensues
>Sir halts test to reveal Deku's true weakness!
>also Overhaul kills Stain
>2 lifetimes worth of disappointment in ms paint
I can't recall off the top of my head if the AFO stinger is before or after the semester exams.
Starting with the semester exams for S3 isn't bad IMO, because Lodge Attack->End of the Beginning, Beginning of the end is pretty dark serious stuff and there needs to be some levity at the beginning.
Also setting up Bakugou to get some development and character de-edging before his kidnapping would work fine.
>tfw Toga slife-of-life spinoff about a cute killer doing cute things while killing people
I still kinda hope we get a cut away, chapter ending stinger where Toga comes back to her rapedungeon and kills Kemi since she doesn't need her anymore. If for nothing but the shitstorm.
