White rhinoceroses produce sounds which include a panting contact call, grunts and snorts during courtship, squeals of distress, and deep bellows or growls when threatened.
I want her to stare at me while I do lewd things.
Shoebills are for platonic petting only.
No. They are subdivided into southern and northern white rhinoceros. The southern variant is doing well in the wild. The northern variant is thought to be extinct in the wild, only existing in captivity now. They were last confirmed in the wild in 2005.
The Ceruleans didn't make the Sandstar, they're mutated local fauna. Using the Tiberium analogue, the Ceruleans are Visceroids, not the Scrin themselves.
Their hands look odd to me too. Their fingers look too long even if the animal in question shouldn't have fingers that long, but that might just be QUALITY modeling.
>Those Lucky Beasts
I'm agreeing with the anon that said they should not be animated. They're cute, but they're teetering a bit too close to another fandom.
Also, post more Ceruleans. They look fucking awesome for mobage enemies.
I doodled a Serval for y'all!
Who's your favorite friend?
1. Some animals only turned to friend form recently. It takes time to build finger dexterity for one. Serval learned how to hold things with that opposable thumb
2. The friends didn't receive any instruction whatsoever. Just having the ability to walk on two legs is already remarkable, never mind Toki learning different ways to vocalize (sing)
Picture is a combination of Ceruleans and the mythological beast Byakko. There weren't story scenes around this mission though, so it's all pretty vague.
After finishing it the player had a chance to get Byakko as a Friend or gather tokens to eventually recruit her. Same thing goes to the other 3 directional beasts, Genbu, Suzaku and Seiryu. They all have Cerulean and Friend forms.
Boss itself wasn't in the game, however...
In the game's 2nd story, these 3 called "Lucky Beasts" appeared (each one was individually named after a type of character in the game - Pure Beast, Passion Beast and Cool Beast), and aside from the name there are clearly design similarities.
They're described as resembling mascot characters that were made for the park but never got to be used due to it closing to visitors after the Sandstar fell.
So what advantage do human really have aside from having more of a leg start with being a bipedal sapient creature? If you teach the whole body of human knowledge to the friends, then human beings don't really have any unique quirk when compared to the other friends.
>Find the Friends simple-mindedness initially endearing
>Logic kicks in that they are either former animals/genetic engineered beings
Man, the sheer absurdity of episode 6 hits like a truck once you think about their backstories
My fugginh benis
We find children hilarious at times because they really do have limited intelligence but they try so hard. You've seen kids throwing fits for being called a grandson for the first time for example. How should that be any different to these animals that suddenly gained sapience out of the blue?
This is a ferocious animal
They clearly develop their intellect though. Tsuchinoko and Shoebill show the ability of deduction, and Toki along with Alpaca show that the animals are every bit as capable of learning as any kid would be.
And their Friends forms are all in this image too - the middle girl in each direction (middle in the first row, middle in the bottom row, above the title, middle in the leftmost and rightmost columns).
Some animals that have enough visual variation have more than one friend representing the same species, like the Red Fox.
I don't think only one Friend per species is really a plot point, it's just a way to avoid a bunch of identical looking friends or needing to make minor variations of the same species, rather than covering different ones. It's not like we see a bunch of standard animals running around either.
It's all poaching and habitat loss too. Aside from one known occurrence of lions taking one down, they don't have any natural predators.
Is Byakko and the White Tiger friend the same, or is there also another Byakko friend?
>series gets a dramatic boost in popularity
>also gets a dramatic boost in lewd art
I'm not entirely sure how to feel about this...
There's another. Byakko is this one.
BYUUN TO TONDEKU LUCKY BEAST
NI JUU HACHI GOOOOO
Wasn't my suggestion but I grabbed some real quick.
Yup. To think I couldn't love this series even more.
Some of these I didn't see on the wiki posted last thread. I might've missed them though.
What are these?
Bottom left is a penguin I think. It has PPP on the headphones at least.
Embrace it, anon. Being able to lewdify everything is one of Japan's strongest traits, even if you don't want Sex Friends right now you'll be thankful for that if you ever need them in the future.
Whoa. Nice deduction skills, friend.
Blue snek is Seiryuu, she's in the game
The three edgies with runes are kamaitachi youkais. In the game too
The penguin is the extinct Giant Penguin, the sixth PPP, a new one not from the game
I cant make out the others though
There are some from the poster that are new and wasnt in the game, like PPP used to have 4 members.
Top bird one is Dyatrima.
Blue girl in the right is Seiryu, the Azure dragon.
The ones with shadowy faces and red eyes are all Kamaitachi. They are on that wiki.
Couldn't find any information on the one beside Seiryu or the long haired one on the bottom. Maybe they're new designs made after the game? There are also two chicken friends that only debuted after the game was offline, although I don't think they even are in that image in the first place. Royal Penguin, the leader of the PPP unit, also wasn't in the game.
The one with a sickle should be Kamaitachi friend.
This thing looks like the Martian Queen from Looney Tunes, but with colorful hair stuff. Who is it?
This is the form she takes in the final battle.
Kemono Friends made mainstream TV news on NHK.
I wondered why you lowered the resolution until I downloaded it.
Here, I made a webm so the file is much smaller. It's slightly faster than the original was though because I used Photoshop.
Well late night slots are cheaper I guess. Unless the series suddenly takes a turn for grimdark towards the end, it'd be nice if other networks took it for their own children programmes.
That's not right.
>So you're a Friend who's good at being blasphemous!
Given they were only a few months out from releasing the anime, why can the game then instead of waiting? Seems kinda dumb. The costs of running of the game couldn't have been THAT high.
They are terrible at handling stuff, unless they have a small island worth of whale income they abandon their projects or jew them hard.
A simplified kemono friends on not Nexon would be good.
more to come in a bit
Calm down, friend, it's not that big of a deal.
>checks the wiki
>my favorite animal make it in
Does your favorite animal were made into a friend, /a/ ?
I can see the project production committee scrambling to have emergency meetings after the whole meme status exploded.
>so the Kemono Girls project we hung out to dry has become ridiculously popular thanks to the anime that we gave a skeleton budget to
>we never even made merchandise because no one expected it to become big
If it was conceptualized as a multi-media project from the beginning, is the manga still running? It definitely feels like they pulled the plug on the project after the game failed.
Only Nexon game I've played is Mabinogi, which ironically enough had the same laid back Healing feeling as Kemono Friends. Unfortunately what amounted to Mabinobi2 ended up being like Vindictus, I was really disappointed.
Was really hoping for a Mabinobi with modern cel-shaded graphics, as Mabinogi has first-gen anime CG models.
The North African Owl is in, so yes.
Just went through the wiki, there are 16 glasses wearing Friends + 1 monocle friend and Park Guide.
Decent enough I guess.
The same way Alpaca-chan knows how to run a cafe.
ok I'm tired, so I'll color these in the morning
All this great fanart is amazing.
>japs go crazy over the rei clone
>no cute porcupine art
I thought this is a Raven friend? or is it a mere Crow friend?
Except it's targeted at an adult make otaku audience rather than being a show targeted at little girls that adult males latched onto. The real comparison for something like that would be precure or pripara.
There's also Yatagarasu
I think Otter is probably my favourite friend.
Her butt is really tanoshii!
What's its name?
Apparently they use karasu for all corvids, but it didn't show any results.
Her long desuus are great. Giant Armadillo-chan a cute too.
I think sandstar is also the leading cause of autism in Friends.
Coming from a /tg/ guy, GunPla kits look like tons of fun.
Regrettably there isn't merchandise for this show beyond prize figures that are already sold out.
Yeah I realise that much. It's pretty much the distinctive difference between kids anime and otaku anime. Otaku anime aim to push BDs, manga and figures. Kids TV push toys and cards and such.
We already discussed in earlier threads how that Kemono Friends really isn't made like a typical Japanese toy commercial anime geared to kids. Kaban's way too subdued as a lead character and there's no consistent toy gadget that the anime force-feed the audience with.
Some anons were talking about where Japari buns come from earlier. Oinarisama is on the anime's zoo page and it says something about not having problems with food, or being afraid of hunger, something like that.
>So many friends who aren't afraid of Shoebill
This warms my heart.
Fuck yeah she did.
Really hope she's in the anime
Oinari-sama is Inari Okami, basically the fox goddess of fertility, agriculture, industry. prosperity and success.
Her intro is something like this:
I wish you great prosperity, good tidings, plenty of food and smiles on everyone's faces.
I will not permit any insolent act that seek to bring ruin to this world, and I shall render judgement on such at God's own behalf.
I will resort to any mean... to safeguard the peace of Japari Park.
No. That's the Shimenawa, a sacred rope for purification in Shinto faith. Such ward off evil spirits around the sacred space.
Also the King Vulture, I guess.
>rope is tied at where zettai ryouiki usually is
I have to admit that I never thought much of Mine Yoshizaki's designs, but his work in Kemono Girls is absolutely godlike.
You're a friend who has no taste to speak of whatsoever!
>you will never give her japari buns while ignoring her courtship dance
Maybe they got a bad angle in that photo.
But what about seals?
>ywn be Shoebill's lifelong mate
As a kid, got heartbroken from seeing news of them being trafficked by the thousands
Axolotl are not for licking.
They need protection.
about half score
but once fited that CG, you never stand unless that CG
here is most high sense animefag community? (no, reason is 4chan is weeablike = accepting Japan trend = kemono exploded in Japan these days)
People rate the show with only watching a single episode so all the people that were always going to hate it because of CG will count as much as people who watch the whole thing.
Wow, it gets better. Yoshizaki has a video from mid December talking about this being his last chance to play the Kemono game.
So Nexon literally canned the game 3 weeks before the anime aired. Why the fuck would you not wait at least another month or two? Nexon is retarded.
>An animal that its own tooth punctures its snout and if it let to grow freely, then in would push into its own brain
>Not a punk-ish girl with a lot of piercing, but also a tootache
I like the hair, atleast
>here is most high sense animefag community
4chan /a/ has a much greater proportion of people with good knowledge about anime and people who have watched a lot of anime compared to other communities like MAL and reddit.
It's really a good thing KF is mostly inaccessible to the western audience due to cheap 3D.
>reason is 4chan is weeablike = accepting Japan trend = kemono exploded in Japan these days
Not really. Kemono Friends was already liked here at least 3 weeks ago.
This penguin stands out so much, but I can't quite tell why.
Normal western anime fans (niwaka?) see anime as mature cartoons for mature people like themselves, so childish-seeming anime like this gets dismissed. The poor animation and CG don't really help either.
"There's also the issue of timing, but when we initially invest in a game, we consider developments while we're looking at the daily KPI [key performance indicators]. At that time there were no plans to continue. There might be something if we maybe launched now, but in the end we consider this a completed title."
I just can't see the cost of maintaining it for another month or two for the anime to hit being a huge investment.
Considering its now defunct, I wonder how much it would cost to license and relaunch ala what Nutaku does.
There's only Oinarisama and some mythical things on the zoo page. We've seen Tsuchinoko but there's also Kyubikitsune and Jinmengyo (if that counts).
They've got a bit more than just ears, anon.
This is Boss' final form
No it doesn't. We don't know what agreement they had in their contracts though. It's probably just bad timing. Maybe there was a liscensing renewal fee or something coming up and they didn't have any confidence in the franchise.
I think everyone will have their own personal favorite Friend, based on their individual likes and types and the wide variety of cuteness to choose from, but I think we can all acknowledge that Serval is on another level completely. She is the purified essence of friendship, a literal angel.
In no order whatsoever, from http://kemono-friends.jp/zoo/
Gonna need a Friends version of it now.
I don't know what he's been talking about the show on twitter, but he seems to be living it enough to draw something new all the time.
This may be ant sized, but the friends do take their clothes off when they go for a bath.
Can't wait for the full picture
