Senzaemon: Now both teams will taste each other's dish and this will signal the end of this fight!
Senzaemon then tells the students to point to the dish that was superior. Soma and Erina point at Team Dojima's dish and Takumi and Megumi point at Team Saiba's dish.
The crowd is slightly panicking as the "God's Tongue" is pointing at the opponent's dish. Erina says that the taste, the smell, and the visual impression of Team Dojima's is in extreme high quality. In contrast, their dish isn't on the level, and she regrets that they didn't have enough time to taste their own dish beforehand.
But Takumi doesn't agree with Erina's words. He then goes on to describe Team Saiba's Hachis Parmentier
Soma realized Jouichiro's intent to wrap up potato into the Crepe Dough, so Soma used cheese, potato and Chirimen Jako to make a "Pomme Galette" and wrap that into the crepe. Which brought both "softness" and "crispiness" that one would usually not be able to taste in a Hachis Parmentier. Additionally, Erina's steak cooked with Bordeaux wine were sliced into the shape of a dice and then wrapped up into the crepe.
Erina then explains that it was a thought process she never had but Soma, Megumi, and Takumi praise Erina for showing a lot of joy while cooking, which makes Erina blush. Senzaemon has a big smile on his face.
Sezaemon: In order to have perfect teamwork in the Regiment De Cuisine, it is hugely important to realize the strength each team member has. The numerous challenges one needed to overcome to reach this stage...And you all were able to once again reaffirm this now...Looks like our first objective has been achieved with this fight!
Senzaemon: It was a very interesting dish Erina! You looked like you had a lot of fun!
Erina: (You as well, Grandpa!?) It's just that the two provoked me into this. Usually, I would never do such a thing...
Senzaemon: Yes...That's how the both of them always interacted with each other. It must be a part of their life to fight like that. That's why in this fight, he (Soma) was able to present his dish to Jouichiro without any fear!
Erina: ...But how can someone do that to their parent....I would think that such act would cause trouble, and I would refrain from acting like a spoilt child...
Senzaemon: Why don't you act like a spoilt child for once?!
Senzaemon: You two are father and child...You also have to learn to act occasionally like a self-centered child, Erina.
Senzaemon's words make Erina think
Next Day: Azami, Tsukasa, and Rindou gather at the meeting place.
Spoiler pics tomorrow.
>people shit on Asuna for being a waifu bait
>did the same with Chiaki
>Erina gets a free pass somehow
It's just a pissing contest. "My waifu is more popular than yours", "Japan has great/shit taste", etc. It feels good to have a character you like rank high in something even if it means very little.
For all the people who can't understand Hisako's greatness, and question the poll, fondly:
> Fuck off.
Her character is literally built around Erina, she's like a decaffeinated Sui-Feng from Bleach.
Source: second LN
>people who just don't vote
Wouldn't that mean they just don't care enough about the manga or its characters?
No one can deny that Souma & Hisako's chemistry was great during the stagiaire arc. Sadly Erina has the same plot armor as Chitoge in Nisekoi, the other girls stand no chance.
Oh I thought you were talking about the popularity rankings, not the manga in general
>getting rekt by an Elite makes you fodder
Meat and Isami haven't won shit, at least she got out of her bloc in the Elections
As much as I like the Souma and Hisako relationship, I can't see it going romantic. Maybe because I know Hisako is too much into Erina and I saw their moments during the stagiaire arc more like bff rather than something close to lovers. Although I do agree, it has a pretty good base to go from there into romance but we already have confirmation that Erina will fall for Souma and the whole "find someone you want to cook for".jpg thing. Plus, Erina and Souma have a pretty good interaction too so far but I guess this depends on the reader and if they ship them.
Hisako needs to emancipates from Erina. One thing is being a friend, but other very different it's being a minion. She is a lot better than that.
Would be awesome if Tsukuda choose another girl instead of Erina in the end. I'd lol so hard.
> Souma: Sorry Erina, I like you, but I discovered that I like your secretary even more.
>Would be awesome if Tsukuda choose another girl instead of Erina in the end. I'd lol so hard.
You know the next candidate after Erina is Megumi right?
And although I do agree Hisako needs to stop being so revolved around Erina and be on her own, at the same time part of why she is also so great it's because of Erina. She will always care a great deal about her and there will be times she puts Erina above herself.
They were expelled, don't they? I can't remember.
Anyways, I'm pretty sure once this awful Asami arc ends, all the people expelled by his administration would have another chance.
If the editor really influences the manga, it's highly likely. When the plot is turning into shit, this polls are a safety measure. It won't change the fact that the plot will keep being shit, but at least we'll seeing popular characters and ship wars.
Why do you always need some sort of romantic fucking relationship. Can't she just fucking exist without having to be part of the harem.
Here's my OTP
>Arc about Soma with Erina, Alice, and Hisako
>Soma invites Erina over to his place
>Hisako and Alice will tag along too because of Erina
>Those girls become maid in his shop
The entire point of the competition Jou got Azami to agree to is to retake the E10, give him the boot, and fix everything he broke, including expelling their friends.
The real question is how do they get a majority when they don't have enough people competing at the moment.
>you now know her face while in the honeymoon bed with Soma
>Fujos didn't win for once.
>In a Shounen Jump manga
What an incredible feeling.
Whoever said the tourney must have teamwork as 1 of the rules? It's fucking obvious each of them will go solo, and no one's beating him nor Rindou, so the logical thing to do would be to sit both of them out to avoid any FT-levels of asspulls.
>Soma, Megumi, and Takumi praise Erina which makes her blush
I NEED THIS!
Why the FUCK is there so much hate on Erina on Tumblr!? So many Somegu Fags there.
Cannot wait for season 3 of the anime so that it might show Soma x Erina moments to change sides or something :V
What I find very funny and enjoyable was that many people on Tumblr
voted for Megumi for the poll yet she still came out
in 5th place LMAO and they are very salty there lololol to them

Ikumi and Mayumi (Soma's childhood friend)
are the only ones in the series that have feelings
for Soma. Megumi doesn't "Love" Soma but admires
him and Erina is developing feelings for him and all the other girls do not have feelings for him
what so ever.
They did honestly. I enjoy that teamwork thing they had and I've expected more out of Megumi as I read the later chapters but she's just getting worse.
>gains confidence for a very short while
>goes right back into a timid chicken

I think Megumi needs a big win to finally understand that she is more than she think she is.
From that point onwards, Tadokoro will be a little more confident and her hands will finally be released from the timid chest posture.

It's not the same to win to some other character, that to win a Shokugeki against an E10 seat.
I think Megumi will not believe when somebody inform her she is now part of the elite 10, if that day comes.
Given that Souma, Aldini and Erina seems to have somehow evolved their designs throughout the manga, if Megumi beats an E10 and graduates to second year. It'll be interesting to see if Tosh gives her a more confident style.
Like cutting her hair, or leave her hair long, anything as long as she get rid of that childish pigtails.
Maybe Souma will start to hesitate towards Erina a little bit that way.
For those wondering why Hisako & Alice are so high.
It's obviously because in the last poll they were only apart by 1 vote.
So each character's fags, especially those who didn't vote for them in the last poll, think "This time, I will not let down my waifu!"
Hence, the result.
Poor Tosuke and Somei
I still think you two have the potential for greatness
I mean, I don't think it's a coincidence that the most prominent characters from this arc are the four most popular characters from the last poll.
Combine that with how unpopular most of the cooking matches have been and it's not an unfounded worry.
People don't exactly hide the fact that they only read this because a doujin artist is drawing cute girls acting cute and don't give an iota of shit about the actual cooking.
Honestly the manga suffers a lot from the lack of colors. That's why I loved when they started releasing the color versions.
A cooking manga without being able to aprecciate colors lose a lot of its charm. In fact, I started to ignore the preparations and all the chit chat about the cooking because actually I give a fuck about the final product. I just wanna know who will win.
>Souma, Erina and Megumi are the main characters.
>Takumi is the least flashed out of Souma's rivals.
I mean sure, there are a lot of popularity conspirations but it just made sense to me.
Anyway I believe the manga would be alright as long as there is nice interactions with literally any character than long ass shitty battles.
That's my point, the main gimmick and draw of the manga is arguably it's least popular selling point.
It wouldn't be out of reason for them to just shift focus on it being a romantic comedy because it's literally guaranteed to sell because of the good character interactions like you said, in addition to all of the cute girls.
>Shokugeki becomes a romcom.
>romance antics between Souma and Erina/Hisako/Mayumi/Meat.
>Alicedog, TakuMegu and EishixRindou as side pairings.
>Curry becomes comic relief.
Would you read it?
Just part of the natural evolution when she becomes an Elite 10 member.
Or she suffers a "Jou" moment and decides to take it out on a shit tier chefs thinking they're better than her.
Anyway, be honest guys; who here actually cares about the upcoming team match or are you just waiting for all of this stuff to end and we can move on?
I can definitely see the series going back to smaller scale SOL arcs like Staigiare and Karaage with added addition of Erina being apart of the group now.
I'm hoping for both things. I lime the charactes who will part of the shokugeki and want to see the E10 doing shit.
And of course I'm eager to come back to comfy. But wouldn't the four of them be an elite for after this? Maybe we would get into that and how it works inside.
This will make them E10 tier chef but doesn't necessarily means they become E10. Iirc they didn't bet any seat in this upcoming match and there's still E10 exam test that they need to take just like in jou's flashback
They're very far off from being Elite10 members. Literally every character that is going to get a seat needs to be developed a lot more especially Soma who wants the first seat.
We also need the other future Elite members to have their future battles on-screen like Megumi, Erina, Alice etc because it will show readers how much they've developed and that they really do deserve an Elite seat. We've been getting constant Soma batttles back to back so we really need more focus on other characters.
4) Soma (2795)
5) Megumi (1862)
Always side by side
How are the takumifujos who said he was the star boy of this manga coping?
>if a guy isn't a hound dog with his nose up the girls' asses at all times he's gay
Totsuki is extremely competitive with people being expelled for no fucking reason. Soma likes to win so I'm not surprised that he prefers to focus on recipes instead of girls. If he lets semen demons like Ryoko enchant him then he's fucked like the Buttbros. Plus he obviously has a soft spot for Megumi and has some moments >>153493613 with others.
TOSH give me more Shino please.
Nope, the seats are up for bet.
This is even said by Gin himself before digging into Jou's past.
Soma/Erina/Megumi/Takumi are all going to E10 members a full semester before anyone else.
>Male character isn't a horndog who wants to fuck every girl in sight.
>Clearly he's gay.
To be entirely fair, a teenage male character being mostly uninterested and and oblivious to the opposite sex is somewhat out there, but that's mostly because Japan are a bunch of prudes when it comes to romantic relationships.
Yes, I don't understand. It's not like he didn't get some focus during the whole fight with Kuga or even recently. He is a nice guy overall so I am not sure from where this heavy falling in the ranking comes from.
I like him too but I kinda expected it, all the others have something to back their position while Takumi is getting relevance just now even if he got such a high position. That's why I think popularity is horseshit anyway since he was a really popular character and still never used by the author.
If anything he is still on the top three boy and above the rivals.
Erina has her big arc, both Hisako and Alice were part of it, Megumi is always there, Shino has Etoile and Rindou is a new flavor that makes everyone hard.
Takumi and Meat are the ones there who don't have much going on, even fucking Pajeet with his shitty arc. So I just think he needs more focus and that is what the author is doing right now, and he is doing it good so far his chapter was great and he is getting closer to more charactes which he really wasn't.
It's a combination of a lot of factors; since this is Erina's arc, her being first isn't unprecedented and kind of expected.
Alice and Hisako haven't done much as of late, but they're still prominent characters in Erina's arc and all three of them have cute designs that male characters will obviously gravitate towards.
No way he was going to beat Soma, and Megumi while not relevant as the top three girls, is still an important character. Shino is simply more popular, and Rindou has both a good design and a fun personality.
So really, there was a lot of things; it should be noted that all of the boys barring Shinomiya dropped, and that Takumi is still the third highest boy overall.
It sucks, what can you do when the series is drawn by a hentai artist. It's obvious who people will gravitate towards. It's why I was so surprised he was so high up in the first place.
Look, I'm not gonna deny that major reason people love her now is because she acts more like a waifu, but she has come a long way since the start of the series.
She's not my favorite character, but I will acknowledge that at least and it does factor into why she's loved now...well moreso than before.
Now that you are saying this, I can see why. I do think he is still liked by the majority of the readers but yeah he needs more focus and I am glad he is getting it now.
>If anything he is still on the top three boy and above the rivals.
Agree. I never liked Pajeet and while I used to like Dog, I am meh with him now. Although, I am glad Shino is still up there. He is great.
I am happy with the focus Takumi is getting now. He really needed it because after the Gigganigga match he was lost in the story as well.
>It sucks, what can you do when the series is drawn by a hentai artist. It's obvious who people will gravitate towards. It's why I was so surprised he was so high up in the first place.
I was never surprised he placed high in the previous polls because I knew Nips like him, esp fujos. But yes, as you and the other anons said there were a lot of things to consider as of why he lost his previous high position. I don't really mind but I am sad because I definately prefer him over Megumi who looks like an NPC Tsukuda has to shove down our throats only because she is a main. She was fine before but lately I just get tired of seeing her everywhere.
Please tell me what character development Souma or Megumi have because if we all look at the mains of Shokugeki there walking troupes of
>maid who needs to get more confident and believe in her skills BUT she never does - Megumi
>tsundere ojou-sama - Erina
I have always liked Erina. The reason I like her more now is because she opened up and changed her attitude towards other people and especially Souma. The character development she needs at this moment is to step down her edgelord father and tell him to fuck off which by the looks of it, it's going to happen.
>Japanese names are fucking impossible to remember
Indecisive tit judge
short haired foreign twin
tall sporty china cooking girl
Erina and Hisako's lez stalker
the land shark from ch 1/ep 1
the guy Shinomiya put in charge of his Tokyo branch
the fat guy Erina beat in a shokugeki at the start
the announcer girl with heart pupils
and you should know Eizen and Nene.
>plain girl with few relevant appearances who just shadows the most popular one takes second place in the popularity poll while MC takes fourth and his "rivals" either barely made top 10 or didn't at all
>newer characters flop so hard or are still so undeveloped that one girl slides in while the rest flounder all over
Mustache twirling cooking villains don't go over so well huh. Even the fujoshi didn't bother showing up.
Azami's big plan is to destroy all the McDonald's and Taco Bells in the world.
even for a Shonen plot, that's pants on head retarded. No one can take that seriously, not even jap kids and fujos.
Am I the only one who hopes to see more baking/dessert based challenges?
This is a message for the Mehgoomy Fags :
Oh, Megumi~ The Ms. Nice-girl-who-never-do-anything-bad and the so-called saint. Your character development is basically a repetition of the same formula a) Make you miserable b) Make you overcome it. Can’t even resist the manliness of Ryo’s food, you even have a massive foodgasm from it. Keep blushing to Isami, Takumi and Ryo, you’re definitely not faithful to men. Your specialty is hospitality/motherly food, you’re the one who suppose to cook for others, and that is why you’re not going to be the woman who will be choose to cook for. Barely have any dislikable flaws, you’re definitely just a two dimensional character. Your popularity keep dropping, realisation of people on how pointless character you’re. Keep following guys like a pest, surely you’re just another parasite. Your feat of making the Demon King aroused to the point of making his loin cloth falls, is pretty disgusting.
> Souma x Erina
> Eishi x Rindou
> Dog x Alice
> Shinomiya Alice
> Isami x friend
> Somei x Momo
> Souma x Hisako
Not bad taste
> Ibusaki x Ryoko
> Takumi x Megumi
> Souma x Megumi
> Shinomiya Alice
My mistake. Is Shinomiya x Hinako.
I don't think they'll really limit themselves to 4. Also, there were two new jobbers added to the E10 alongside Hayama. I expect that they exist to Takumi and Megumi can beat them.
Going by your logic, everyone the two jobbers beat are shitty characters then.
>I want Erina and Soma side by side being First and Second :/
He's side by side with Megumi instead.
Some you Erina x Souma shippers are weird as fuck. Being upset that he isn't second because of the pairings side by side is so stupid.
why are you making such big deal?
Soma's always side by side with Erina in the 2nd poll, CP, cover manga, promos, merchandise, etc. Look at the SnS websites and you always find both of them in the front page
>Polls really are a mistake.
I still don't get the big deal. The poll didn't even pull half its readers since one volume sells a lot more than just 26k. Plus we have no idea how many votes came from outside of Japan.
If you go about it like that then who isn't related to Erina one way or the other?
>Hisako - Groupie
>Alice - Cousin
>Soma - OTP
>Megumi - Pseudo Groupie
>Shinomiya - Actually Unrelated
>Rindou - Actually Unrelated
>Takumi - Attended Her Lessons
>Nikumi - Worshipper
>Hayama - Fake Ass Rival
No matter how you look at it, most of the top 10 pay attention to Erina or interact with her on a marginal level.
thats a big reach. none of the other characters revolve around erina the way hisako and alice do.
>hisako-everything she does is literally for or because of her
>alice-her cousin/wannabe rival/always tries to get her attention and has been since they were kids
You can't compare Hisako and Alice who are practically know because they are the secretary/cousin of Erina with other characters like Takumi and Megumi who are getting closer to her just now or Hayama who mentioned he wanted to beat her once.
I'm not saying they compare to Hisako and Alice, but the point is almost everyone in the top 10 is connected to Erina in some way. I think only Shinomiya counts as the only character who probably hasn't even mentioned Erina before.
And Meat definitely at one point connected to Erina more than Alice. She was trying to win brownie points to begin with then got ditched, but still never stopped her idolization. She isn't actually that far off of Alice once you consider Meat came along much earlier.
>Meat came along much earlier.
No since as we found out in the flackbacks, Alice has been trying to get her attention since they were kids. Meat is definitely not more connected to Erina since Alice is her literal cousin.
Sure everyone is somewhat connected, but they don't revolve around her character like those two do. Alice is literally always trying to get Erina to take her seriously as a rival/trying to get her attention in general while like I stated already, everything Hisako does is for or because of Erina.
>Meat definitely at one point connected to Erina more than Alice.
Souma has his own agenda, does that mean his relationship with Erina doesn't matter? What retarded logic is that?
Most of them are related to Megumi and Souma, why the fuck do you think one is the main character and one is always around? Just where are you even going with that statement?
Flashbacks don't magically make the earlier chapters irrelevant. If you have a series where the first 100 chapters don't even have a certain character, having a flash back in chapter 250 doesn't all of a sudden make up for those 100 chapters that character was missing from.
Except the two I pointed out, though Rindou on a trivial level relates to Erina, but Shinomiya practically hasn't even looked at her before. I never said anything to deny your statement, I'm supplementing it. Just because Hisako and Alice revolve around Erina the most doesn't neglect the fact that the likes of Megumi or Meat also do on a marginal level, otherwise Souma's relationship with Erina is basically void and has no bearing on him by your logic.
Why do people who always use /co/ shit as reaction images always lack the IQ to understand basic comprehension? Meat was involved with Erina before Alice was even introduced, at that point she was connected to Erina more than Alice. How the fuck can you even contest that you dumb nigger.
I mean, I don't really understand where are you trying to get.
Yes, there are a lot of characters that related to Erina but has more to them , the entire characters of Hisako and Alice are about Erina and with Alice I guess you can also count her relationship with Ryou.
I bet it's only butthurt Megumifags
Just ignore them
Not one Megumifag has complained in the thread. What are you on?
I'm perfectly satisfied with the top 3. It's the exact same as mine
She already is a Mary Sue. She has a sad, woe is me backstory. She is loved by everyone and was pampered by the entire cast after they rescued her. She is the REBELLION GODDESS OF VICTORY.
What amazes me the most is that Hayama is still in the top 10.
Is this the power of Fujos? I thought they'd have better taste than this. Or did Morisaki and Tsukuda went full Y-san for him?
>hisako has been with erina since childhood yet doesnt really understand her since she would always walk behind her instead of beside her
>couldnt help heal her at all throughout all those years
>souma, megumi, and takumi are doing it instead
Guess their respective elite 10 positions once they destroy Azami.
>souma beating the first seat
way too early
>anyone who thinks the threads are cancer has to be a megumifag
that's a probable scenario.
Souma, at the very least, will earn the 10th spot and Erina will get a higher spot like 5 or 6 because she's Erina.
Eventually, hundreds of chapters from now, the two will have to duke it out in a Shokugeki to determine the true #1
>Erina will get a higher spot like 5 or 6 because she's Erina.
I kind of get the feeling that she'll end up being first and Souma second, to be honest. His father was second but still recognized as the best, and I wouldn't be surprised if the author just repeated that.
>wouldn't be surprised if the author just repeated that.
I think the mangaka will have Souma take the first seat unlike his father. It's the classic "child surpassed parent" trope.
They're practically making the same face, it's just the different angle.
Alice being a jobber is the biggest travesty besides Pajeet.
He got his last color page taken too by something else in jump as well.
Food Wars is faltering. He needs to realize that nobody cares about the dudes, just all the waifus all the time.
Nobody cares about most of the characters. I think the problem is that there's quite literally too many cooks. None of them get focus or develop so they're just mob characters. I get Souma's the main character and all but it was cool seeing other characters and their specialties getting focus during the beginning of the Autumn Elections.
And yet most of those characters just got thrown to the side like it was nothing.
You are right though. Look at the current arc, where almost every character jobbed just because there are too many cooks. Hell even Alice and Dog barked even though Dog was built up like Pajeet and Souma, and Alice being built up as some genius chemistry major nearly on par with Erina.
Its just weird.
Here's the problem. In the last 60 or so chapters. We got Ketchup vs Eizan, Dog vs fodder, rebels vs teachers, and 12 straight chapters of curry to add onto the pile of garbage. Anyone who's reading this for the cooking has problably dropped it. The only thing left carrying this manga are waifus.
Like there was literally an arc for characters to learn and develop and grow as both characters and people and it was all Souma. I'm talking about the stagiare. A small actual glimpse would have been nice instead of like a single panel or casually being brought up here or there and being told it's significant somehow.
I get that he's the main character but his "struggles" get tiring because of how predictable and plot armored they are and I think people wouldn't be as sick of him if the last 50 chapters weren't entirely on him. Oh man he's going to get expelled or become Central's dog? What could possibly happen I couldn't be more excited. I miss when it felt like there was actually something at stake.
Did editors tell him man we need more Souma or something? Shit we didn't even get to look at the other students' fucking booths and what they made or how they did aside from maybe one but even then Polar Star dorm again got shafted. It bugs me that so many characters get introduced but they don't fucking do anything and get completely shafted when there's so many opportunities to use them. Like shit it was cool when Souma got help with the fish preservations from Ibusaki, Ryouko, and Nikumi with their specialties. Even when other characters like Alice, Hisako, and Ryou got sort of development they got thrown aside like nothing. Who actually fucking cared when all those characters got expelled? I heard crickets and tumbleweed blew by. Why were the Buttbros even introduced? Does anyone even know them by name or what they even do? What is the point of Marui? His whole thing about being book smart seemed pretty cool but he only shows up as a pair of glasses being in this case that's all he contributed.
Fucking hell I really want to like Souma and this manga but his conflict gets old because you know he's going to win because of all that shit he would lose if he actually lost. I think that's why he isn't first this time around.
I feel like it all goes back to Azami and central being introduced. They were setting up for an interesting rivalry between Soma and Kuga and then boom, massive tonal shift and Azami shit's on the parade.
From the very beginning, we've known that Soma and company will stop Azami and his retarded plan somehow. What we didn't know was how dragged out the azami arc would be.
Azami got rid of the tension and made the story more predictable with every new chapter. That's why when everyone got expelled, nobody batted an eye. because they are going to come back at some point after Azami fails and Senzaemon gets reinstated.
Well the length is because it's not 1 arc. This story is multiple arcs long.
Also, I feel like Senzaemon will stay retired. Erina's too young to take over though, so I wonder if Alice's dad will, or if they'll appoint someone competent from outside the family like Doujima.
you might be right. Gin makes sense too, because he's young enough and it would allow him to be featured more.
I just hope the Regiment de Cuisine will kick things up a notch and have some actual surprises.
Who knows? Contrary to popular belief, popularity polls don't always get spreads. See: Hikaru no Go
>hurr Tsukuda got butthurt by the results
His favorite girl finally got 1st for the first time.
I think there were plenty of signs before Azami.
I'm sick of Azami but I don't think the current cast isn't without fault. As much as I like Erina I feel her development was squandered. I didn't want her to find out about Souma's dad until she started liking and respecting Souma naturally first because now her liking him feels superficial, cheap and contrived and that he's the rebound second best now. She got shoved into the main cast too fast and it feels like editor intervention to me. And yet still she doesn't fucking do anything. I liked her better as that unreachable target that we just assumed was good at cooking. Now that she's in the main cast she has still barely shown any cooking prowess.
And Megumi and Takumi feel super fucking forced too. Takumi was basically a Polar Star tier mob character for like a hundred chapters and suddenly he comes back and it isn't the least bit convincing. We didn't see his Stagiare and we're told it actually mattered like one chapter ago and we're basically told to start caring about him though none of that happened in the other 100 chapters he was in. What about his brother and muh zalluna and his actual other motivations? Is this even the same character? He was ruined after he jobbed to Subaru. And damn Megumi doesn't do fucking anything yet seems like the only character actually grounded to reality in this whole Azami fiasco.
I've already bitched enough about Souma. He's the main character but still gets too much focus or more accurately is the only one with focus and actually does anything but anything he does feels cheap. Eizan and muh nose jobbed majorly because of bullshit plot armor. I think this whole thing is way too rushed so everything feels contrived. It's probably just editor meddling. Name one series where editor meddling actually improves a series.
I really liked this series too. I wouldn't get so autistic over it if I didn't.
What if it ends? I can't take another weekly ending.
They're dropping like flies, soon I will have nothing.
>I didn't want her to find out about Souma's dad until she started liking and respecting Souma naturally first
But she did? At least she started respecting him more before Azami turned up
>yet still she doesn't fucking do anything
She got her shit together and coached the PSD gang, didn't she?
>she has still barely shown any cooking prowess
What was she supposed to do, crush a named character on-screen?
I agree. Souma is the only character that really gets to do anything, which is a shame since theres a great and talented cast. We need the others to get on-screen battles/focus because them taking an Elite 10 seat in the future just won't make sense to us readers.
Erina has finally taken the heroine role front and center yet it feels like she's barely done anything. It's odd.
>How does Megumi ruin every scene she is in?
She doesn't. Stay salty though.
>Erina has finally taken the heroine role front and center yet it feels like she's barely done anything
It's because she's such a weighty character.
>granddaughter of the former director
>professional advisor to the culinary world at a young age
>Doujima says she is the greatest talent Tootsuki will produce
>in brief, she is pretty much perfect
You have to wonder why she's a student to begin with. What makes the other Elites better than her? She didn't fit in a plot where the MC, talented but rough cut, finds his weaknesses and builds friendships with other first years struggling to survive. Tsukuda should have given her a recognizable flaw of some kind, where she's damn good for her age but still has much to learn.
Are the Elites really ranked by skill and not seniority? Are Kuga and Eizan really better chefs than Erina? If it goes by skill, why did Hayama become the 9th Elite instead of Erina moving up and him taking 10th?
It just feels like author can't into developing multiple characters at once so he tends to shaft them and then bring them back when needed, which doesn't have any consisty at all.
In another point, Takumi's stagiare was always hinted since the start it makes sense that there was a flashback about this at some point.
It feels like Erina is his insert waifu and that's where he screwed up. He made her too perfect and put together. With the way the narrative describes her and her skills, she should've graduated already since she's basically a genius. Sure she has the family issues but that's probably going to get resolved real quick since she's gaining more confidence + she started to find the joy in cooking according to the latest spoilers. There's nothing really left for her to do but fall for Souma and get a higher seat in the Elite.
She's so perfect it's boring.
Her main flaw is her rigid thinking imprinted from her father. Remember, Azami is full on "my way or no way at all". There's one right way to do things, and it's unthinkable to do otherwise.
This very last chapter was about the continued effort to break Erina out of that. A process that started back when she moved to the PSD.
Admittedly, removing Erina's one big weakness is kind of terrifying.
They're ranked by a number of things as Rindou explained during the Eizan match and as Doujima explained in Jou's flashback.
That's what happens when an authors fucks up with having a huge power level gap between main characters. The stronger one will be doing nothing for a long time while we witness asspull after asspull of other characters "catching up".
Well I mean romantically. If she falls in love with him now and we all know she will, it won't feel as natural as if she fell in love with him on her own and only found out about his dad after the fact. Now it would just be because he's her idol's or first love or whatever's son even if they say she fell in love with him some other way. I was worried about how they'd handle that reveal for a long time.
>Erina only knew the perfectionist, sterile cooking hammered into her by Azami
>Jouichirou shatters that conditioning and broadens her horizons
>she never sees him again
>becomes cold and rigid and Azami-esque again
>Azami returns, further driving her into a corner
>Souma not only proves that he's his father's son but reminds her of that first moment of clarity and discovery
>gives her courage (albeit short-lived) to stand up for the cooking she loves and defy what she lived with all her life
>he's also there to stay and grow alongside her
I dunno m8, I think there's room for Souma to become something more than Jouichirou 2.0. It's not like she's completely head over heels in love with him yet anyway.
Teasing the Erina
I'd rather they face a jobber like Souma did. At least they wouldn't be handed a free pass and squander a chance to show actual cooking. Or at least have Rindou pretend to try to crush them but let them go anyways kind of like how Eishi did to Souma. Like fuck Rindou never fucking cooked. She could have cooked and crushed them then let them get a free pass because YUMMY. I'd love to see the Elite 10 crushing people or actually see how they all cook or WHAT they cook. We're told to be afraid of these monsters but we don't know what they do. Everything is fucking implicit. Why couldn't we see all those expelled jobbers' attempts or at least the final results with both sides' cooking? Show me some food. I feel we haven't gotten that in a long time. Why is every non-Souma recipe always fucking off screen? Why haven't we seen anyone but Souma fucking cook for like the past 80 chapters? We got Dog once but that was it. And people bitched about it. How about showing how everyone jobbed besides just them symbollically doing it like the bullshit with Somei just slashing Hisako with his sword? I was under the impression this was a cooking manga.
This is what I mean about Souma getting way too much focus. All these characters can and do cook. But we never fucking see any of it. Are they just too lazy to think of dishes for all these characters or can't think of anything?
And again, I really wish Megumi would change her hairstyle for real.
They are so cute.
As expected tsundere vs tsundere it's a fight with no winner.
I've never read a single page of this manga but god damn does Erina have great doujins.
I mean, when you want to make clean breaks in thoughts you typically would go ahead and create a line space. I don't really know how that would originate from reddit though and I think it's kind of irrational that you would blame typical writing conventions on fucking reddit of all places.
I'm not sure I follow.
