POST YOUR FACE WHEN YOU SEE SPRING WEAPON ABOVE BLACK CLOVER
but they didn't
Based Spring Weapon. Is anyone even translating it?
I know it bombed hard, but I feel like the artist for Amalgam could do something decent at some point. I could use a series that's nothing but trashy nonsense action.
wtf I love Spring Weapon now

>Good natured, the main cast is impossibly kind and it's not tryhard in any sense
>Art is good. Tabata is Hori tier.
>Nothing is forced or contrived
>The characters are copypasta but other than MC or the antagonists they are likeable due to their straightforward qualities
>Template manga that progresses like a shounem cliche checklist
>One dimensional protagonist that literally gets told by the rest of the cast to "not think too hard about stuff" so he isn't allowed to grow
>paced as if it was getting cancelled
>predictable as fuck
>cast bloat and insane power creep as a result of the fast pacing
what are the things you like? this manga does nothing impressive
just some dude yelling about friendship and becoming wizard hokage then hitting things with his giant sword
there are manga with the same (knights and magic) premise that are better so why read Black Clover?
Probably it just depends on the quality of the other manga in Jump and what Jump wants to promote. Supernatural Ecchi Harem Romantic-Comedy is a niche genre also. Correct me if I'm wrong, I think it is doing fine in tankobon sales so we won't see a sudden axe.
Gintama almost always ranks low in serious arcs, except if they feature Kamui heavily. That and if I were a voter, I wouldn't bother voting for it unless I liked less than 3 other series in the magazine, since my vote would be better spent supporting series that aren't ending soon.

This shit has to be fake, I legitimately can't believe it
Just looking through last week's raws, and the only series that looks like it's ending soon is Ole Golazo, I think everything else is safe for another 2-3 months. This doesn't bode well for WT fans, since that means the magazine filled its spot meaning they don't expect Ashihara back until the next round at least.
>two Samon updates in one day
Holy shit, is Samon finally gonna make a Sesuji tier scan comeback?
Not necessarily, once Golazo ends and all new series have started, Jump will have 19.5 regular weekly series (Isobee is only 11 pages long and One Piece is only 17 pages long). They could squeeze in World Trigger's return and have 20.5 running at once. Especially since One Piece is on break once a month and World Trigger would probably have a similar schedule, plenty of room considering.
I'm pretty interested that WSJ is ending so many series and starting so many up so close together.
Are we gonna take bets on which one gets canceled first? U19 seems pretty shit, it didn't even manage to get its whole premise out in the first chapter.
Don't worry, now that there is an abundance of gag manga in Jump, it's going to get more competitive for them. Any new gag manga will have to try and kill one of the current 4 in order to take its spot and survive. Samon and Spring Weapon should step up their games if they want to live.
We Can't Study is filling up a romcom spot that the magazine hasn't had for a while so it'll most likely get tons of votes for free based off of that. Online reactions to it seem to be pretty positive outside of here as well. Personally I don't like it at all but it will probably stick around/be a mainstay.
U19 is sort of weird. I don't think getting the premise out is necessary for it to succeed. As a cliffhanger for the first chapter can often drive up interest for otherwise mediocre series (Bulge was a good example of this). If anyone is going to keep this around it'll have to be younger readers enjoying it, otherwise I think its pretty bad and will be cancelled fast.
Poro's premise seems very similar to Spring Weapon which could take away votes and while I know some people seemed to like the oneshot alot I don't have much to go off of otherwise. Best bet is that the Future Golden Cup winner curse continues and this sees a quick end.
Mary is in an awkward spot. Its advertised as an action-comedy series with a romantic hook which could split interest. If its mostly a romcom, then people will probably just go with Study since that's its main focus and will have the cuter art. As a pure comedy series there's already a fuck ton of gag manga in the magazine right now it would have to compete with, although if Gintama ends soon I could see it taking its spot.
Dr. seems to have a pretty cool author-artist combo, but that doesn't necessarily equal success. Premise could go in a bunch of directions so we'll just have to wait and see.
Lazerbeam probably goes in one of two directions. The first is that we'll get a more niche comfy sport manga akin to Sesuji that has middling or low amounts success. The more likely option is that the series goes full Prince of Tennis and the fujo bucks start pouring in as the all male cast uses their superpowers to get 100% "hole-in-ones" much to the female readers delight.
If Isobe's the new Jaguar, it's immune from cancellation. Jaguar got shit sales but the author got to choose when he wanted to end it, exactly on its 10 year anniversary. And it was running in one of the most competitive eras of Jump ever, with many new successful series, unlike now where 100k is considered acceptable. We might be in for another 6 years of Isobe.
Jaguar actually was fairly popular, and sold over 100k for at least part of its run

I'm okay with those two ending, I'd like to think the author of Amalgam comes out better for this, even though he's already failed in the past, I personally thought the art and designs were pretty cool and would like to see him in another magazine
The Demon's Plan guy I hope goes away for a while to learn from his mistakes
Also, glad to see Black Clover so low (though it's disgusting seeing it above Kimetsu)...I'm really suspicious about Spring Weapon, whether it's actually popular or there's some other reason for keeping it...I think it's cute and funny...but, depending how it goes, I would think this Poro series is exactly meant to fill that gap
It's the only ecchi in Jump right now. The study manga had a gratuitous scene in its first chapter but it'll probably be a romcom above all else. Everything else is just regular random fanservice.
So yes, it survives because it's the only sexy manga in Jump.
Tabata: I'm not into jrpg, I never even played Final Fantasy
It got better when Tanjiro and Nezuko both got to fight and then Zenitsu and Inosuke were brought back and it got significantly better and that's when other people started latching onto it
The characters are just so fun
Relies really heavy on "Hey I knew that already, I heard it off panel a year ago, remember?" moments early on, its kind of so so. really starts to shine maybe around chapter 20? The last arc was pretty damn good tho. Series definitely has potential.
Also the comedy, when it hits, hits hard as fuck. the most recent chapter had me in tears laughing. but that may just be me.
So far all the images released from it are focused on him and his diary/journal. So I'm assuming Poro is one of those eager curious characters that's always excited to learn new things. JB and MS will get to it soon anyways since they're riding the hype train on the 6 new series.

pretty sure Kimetsu will gradute from it next month too
- Norman refuses the escape alone's proposal.
- Seems that they went playing hide & seek ( not sure yet as Emma is bedridden)
- Norman said if he escapes alone security will be reinforced.
- Ray mentioned that in order to succeed in raising children as livestock, demons had to avoid to deal with the security by themselves, and the wall is far and not visible unless you re close to it, so to avoid any suspicions (i guess or something like this)
- So ray said security is not a problem.
- Norman asked about the wall, as they have no more ropes & the devices (in case they implant new transmitters more sophisticated), Ray said, they can make something at anytime to climb the wall. And as for transmitters he knows now where they are, he can deal with them.
- Norman says he still can't take the risk of losing them by escaping by himself.
- Ray has been suffering 6 years to make this happen.
- Emma suggests what about Norman break his leg too.
- As they are meant to be "high quality food", Mama can't afford to ship some "defective goods".
- They laugh at her proposal and decide to break his arm instead, or to pretend to break it.
- But they still aren't sure it will work, but emma said they have to escape all together at any cost, they have no other choice.
- Norman will try the inspection again. He asked ray since when he realized the truth about GF house. Ray said, hee figured it out from the very start.
When something releases on the same day every week for months, you get used to it...and when it's not by a group, you can't ask if there's a reason for the delay...and in the case of Kimetsu, it did get dropped once, for months...it was a pretty shitty time to be a fan of a new great series, I definitely feel sorry for those Samon/Saiki fags (on the other hand, I also get frustrated with series that are perpetually just a few weeks behind like Hinomaru when sometimes they release five chapters in one day and sometimes nothing for weeks and basically wouldn't it just be great if Viz or something picked up stuff people wanted to read so we wouldn't have to rely on the charity of others)
Look like Deku with jet black hair and cuter 10/10 would fag.
Its look like Neverland is going to sell at least BC level sad I want at least BnHA level on the start.
I went to HeroAca thread once, there's someone who identifies as that grape boy, a bunch of autistic anons who argue about Mirio powers/powerlevelfags and a bunch of waifufag.
Is that correct for average HeroAca thread? Am I missing something?
I kinda immune to those after so long in OP threads but that was a new low even for me
Not only that
> MC assistant is a slime
> MC got tentacle attacked
> Hell, MC can perform tentacle attack on his own
> MC can also produce sleeping drugs
The doujin potential is so damn high with that oneshot. Now let's see if the qt shota demon will be similar.
Oh, Miso was a 2 man group. Their TL disappeared, so I'm helping the TS with some projects (Kimetsu, Sesuji, probably Samon when I free up some time) and picked up Yuuna on my own.
>mc is already a [semen] demon at the start
It hasn't even scanned yet but it's already going places.
But I still kind of feel that it's not a Jump material and it won't fare well without BATTORUS and POWERLEVELS unless it's a sports genre (i.e. WT, HQ).
Aw shit. Guess all I can do is pray he returns and/or learn nip.
I still don't think Spring Weapon can survive for long. If even one of the 6 new title is liked by the audience, I'd expect the manga to be pushed out of the litter (that or Samon gets shit upon) Gag manga really need to have strong foundation and repeatability to have it survive longer.
Yep, I'm looking forward to seeing it scanned, would be nice if Poro was one of those Disgaea type demons who really would just like to wear as little as possible.
Btw, what do you about WT being sports? I know that was the original concept in the early stage but I never really felt it.
Combat sport precisely. The fact that there's 1-1 and team battles, rank wars (regional), neighbor attacks (international), all weapons are balanced (all have strong points and weaknesses), combat rankings, arenas, bail-out system on both sides (so dying is a rare case) and etc makes it a one-of-a-kind sci-fi sport genre-type series.
It's also (one of) the most comprehensive ones too with the Border Briefing File: which is basically the manual/rule book for the series as well as the character database.
It kind of like, yeah. But if you'll look into it closely, it's a carefully knitted sports series right from the start. Most of the PvP elements from games in general are derived from sports anyways (e.g. turn-based -> board games).
>Ibitsu no Amalgam (End)
>Demon's Plan (End)
>Border Briefing File
It bothers me that a mangaka who's this thorough in his approach had to take this extended break. It's rare to see pic related in a shonen series.
Finally, I can start following it on MU once it gets approved. I can't believe that even the fucking author has no entry.
Poro, Dr. Stone and RobotxLazer are all going to be different types of fujobait. It's sad that WSJ's demographics have shifted so much that they felt a 50/50 split between het and fujo was necessary.
RobotxLazer might cut into Haikyuu fanbase, since HQ will be on tournament hell for the rest of the year most likely, if done well.
Its his body that want to take a break (if I remember correctly, he made BBF during his hiatus before in a hospital), not him. I do not think that he prefers to pause the series right before Hyuse's debut chapter either.
Boku no Hero Academia is pretty popular, but I don't know if I should make a new thread to ask a question about it. So I'll just ask here because it's in the OP.
My friend wants me to draw Isuzu and he ave me this as a reference. Does anyone have a picture of this outfit in color?
>this guy is making a series for WSJ
It's timethreads will be delighted, I'm sure.
Yeah, Zenitsu does.
The author knows his stuff
especially now he made the mc design more qt pa2t
New Kimetsu chapter is up
Are you fucking serious nigger?
Samon can be cute when there are cats involved or when he's not trying to start shit.
>Yusuke wasn't cute either
But that's wrong.
Sorry for the late response - thank you so much anon!
>tfw there will never be another wacky football manga like Captain Tsubasa
Thing is little boys like Bakugou too.
pastSamon is the cutest guy in the series, no contest
If it survives, it will suffer the same fate as Saiki, Samon and Isobee because it looks like a pain to scanlate
What are you talking about, Assclass and Haikyuu are million sellers
Someone never read the manga. Yusuke is the proto-Killua
>What are you talking about, Assclass and Haikyuu are million sellers
Haikyuu and AssClass have about 800k per volume mate.
OP and Narutio usually did 2 million per volume.
Also, AssClass ended.
Also, Haikyuu takes one year to sell a million per volume, but it is still a million seller
You can tell what the audience for a manga is by the fanart. Kimetsu and Samon all get more Twitter fanart than Black Clover despite Black Clover selling better. It's clear that they both have a more female-driven, older fanbase. Black Clover's fanbase is likely mostly male and on the younger range of the readership.
OP: Older, mixed (the 2015 poll had it at 51% female, which basically means statistically 50/50)
HeroAca: Both young and old, mixed (not sure why people think Bakugou is only popular due to fujos, boys love strong asshole characters)
Kimetsu: Older, more girls
Samon: Older, more girls
Haikyuu: Mix, mostly girls (it was like 68% girls in the 2015 survey)
Gintama: Older, more girls
Black Clover: younger, more guys
Neverland: Older, mixed (the fanart makes me think more girl but I think that's inaccurate because girls just draw more fanart in general)
Soma: Older, more guys
Yuuna: Older, only guys
Saiki: Mix, more girls
You can blame/thank Saint Seiya and Captain Tsubasa.
Just because fujoshi attached to a series doesn't mean it was made to specifically target them. They just need two male characters and they are set for their delusions. Even Kaiji has a large fujoshi following but the manga wasn't made to target them.
I hope Sesuji's author planned to go down the same route instead of being forced to wrap it up due to low sales/rankings or whatever. All his other previous works seemed fairly short, in fact I think Sesuji is his longest serialization by far.
Leaks tomorrow. Raws on Friday. It's not up on niggastream's alley so probably Jaimini's trash or some group will pick it up. Viz will have it on their Jump Start for 3 chapters.
It might take longer since the author is still a literal who, but viz's version will definitely be up on monday.
I'm already subscribed to Viz so I'll get the superior quality but I don't want to wait so long.
Think someone will make a thread on the weekend when the raw comes out?
I doubt it.
It'll probably get dumped on a WSJ thread (if there is one) and if someone had the raws.
His oneshot was good but doing a weekly series is a completely different matter. I've seen a lot of authors that has done very good oneshots but somehow fail on their weekly series. It's 2ch's underdog so it might actually turn out to be good.
Either way, I'm in for the inevitable fanarts on twitter and pixiv. I hope the author will pour some delicious material for the nips to use.
Delaying the inevitable won't solve anything or make you feel any better. Finish the series so you can give those midgets some closure and we can all mourn its conclusion together.
Now that you mention it, but I've seen the reverse happen especially with WT so hopefully this will be one of the success series at least for a little while.
As long as he keeps the lewd, and perhaps bring in Toketsu as a different version.
It's World Trigger's purest ship atm. No lewds both on pixiv and twitter.
BBF confirms they are a family, not that it wasn't obvious from the manga alone really.
Both. Not like they have anything to choose with, might as well go root for the WSJ GFC 2015 winner.
Wow, at least finally we as a fandom can draw the line, others should take note.
I always assumed they were father and son but apparently that was never explicitly said anywhere so I'm not sure what's up with that.
There are some age-switch/same-age/older yotaro but still hovers on R13-R15 material, so yeah. The fanbase is surprisingly healthy which I really like.
Tamura already has a following so it might just survive and slay 1 comedy series. Kuroko author already has a fucking huge fujo fanbase so unless he fucks it up, it'll stay afloat.
Black Clover could have become a fujo hit if Tabata didn't basically ignore all the fujo potential characters, including the supposed rival. I wonder if his editor told him to focus on stuff more appealing to boys.
Well their hands aren't connected sadly, designs are better and more clean this time which I appreciate.
You make some good points, I think once the football manga gets out we'll have space for all them for a while. I don't see U19 lasting long though.
Not every author wants to become a creatively dead inside legacy act that churns out sequels to their greatest hits until they die...I support creators like him or Akimoto who can put aside something golden to do something else. They already have more money than any human being needs, why not enjoy their work as well?
Black Clover and Soma are the two worst series in the magazine (Yuna is just generic, not bad)...those are the only three supported by males
Obviously females have bad ones too, but that's because they are the huge support behind most of the stuff
>Wins the fight, the poll and even the magazine
Why is Bakugou so based?
I speculate 3 volume tops for U19. Such a waste of spot to be handed to a godawful series. I'd rather have an isekai trash than that pile of shit.
Fujos just make his height taller, that's it, since there's no canon material yet.
>ywn have jirous earlobes wrapped around your cock
21 chapters perhaps. WSJ currently has 18 series as of now and have to keep at least 1-2 spots for HxH and WT whenever they come back from hiatus. Golazo might get the axe soon and Gintama is ending, so most likely 2 of the 6 new series will be axed.
Like the actual mature version of Kuga since his original body is stuck in time and hasn't aged canonically. All they can do is increase his height which is kinda pointless and ruins one of his charms.
Not that he needs it as Osamu's already the #1 unofficial Border slut when it comes to any pairings or faceless mob.
It gets more promotion that it deserves while not selling nearly as much to make up for it, while being the most mediore assortment of shonen cliches and bad storytelling since Fairy Tail. No amount of good art makes up for it.
True but it's cute in its own way if he's as tall as Osamu. Not in the manga itself of course.
Thankfully in all my years in the WT fandom I've never come across doujins and I'll like to keep it that way.
Though I totally get wanting to do Osamu, in fact there's this hilarious drawing I did of him for the first Ashihara relief package.
Except it's pretty much the exact opposite of Nardo. Naruto is a steaming pile of shit (much like mha) that should have been trashed by SJ after the terrible chuunin exam arc.
Black Clover doesn't get that much promotion, barely any of my friends knew what it was before I told them and they were instantly hooked after the first chapter.
Black Clover will be the next Bleach, I think. It has a lot of potential and the mangaka has shown that he can write a good story.
>Ashihara relief package
Tell me more
Be thankful that nothing gets scanned then. Since WT has always been relevant on Comikets; just on the recent C91, it was on top 20 fanbases IIRC.
Though a very good Hyuse dj has been scanned recently. But quite tame, sadly.
Kaitouace, the letterer for the Viz editions has organized them twice to send whenever Ashihara is forced to go on hiatus.
In fact last year he mentioned it in the comments. Though it was more than just letters.
We did another one a few months back as well.
I'm glad to hear it's quite popular despite its low presence, link to the Hyuse doujin?
Well that was really thoughtful of everyone
I hope someone sent that edit of T2 praying that he'd get well soon
It's a given, Mai Ball does the fancy choreograph way better and has fan service while Giant Killing reigns supreme in everything else foot ball. Golazo just has nothing but MC being so stronk he can shoot across the stadium which is just a boring gimmick if used as a crutch.
Even that old football series that was finished scanlating last year, the one with the karate goalie being a beast, was much better than Golazo and it was a short work.
you do know that mai ball isn't big or successful in japan right? you only think it is because it's garnered a mid-sized western following and has a dedicated scan group. probably still does better than golazo, but giant killing is a legitimately big hit, while mai ball is extremely niche.
Ray is 100% tsundere
what a moeshit
Marumaru picked up Neverland
It's starting already. Is it normal for the award winner not to serialise their oneshot though?
It was literally 90% one dude relentlessly samefagging. When the mods finally got tired of his shit and banned him until he fucked off, he went to desustorage and chimped out in the archive thread there.
It was really sad.
